Centuries ago, a primal magic surged from the earth's depths, fueling empires but twisting it's inhabitant and the world into corruption's grasp. Forests blackened, skies bled shadow, and rivers turned to poison.
But a less prevalent radiant energy was also born, and hidden within pure warriors, the Luminaries. Armed with the light, their goal is to reclaim the land, hurling back the blight.
Yet the Luminary's gift is double-edged, immortality that tempts the soul. Every 80 years, Luminaries must yield their light to a successor, or risk eternal decay. Defiant ones hoard it, swelling into godlike tyrants of darkness, the Ebonarchs
As a new Luminary, rise in power. Shatter the Ebonarch's abyssal power source to strip their immortality, and strike them down. Together with your fellow Luminaries, push back the Darkness with Light.

This is like a beginners adventure game for children. Far too easy! Anyone that really enjoys games even close to this will find Luminary boring. - Very little content. Completed in just a few hours. - Graphics are not that great. You can pass through some rocks. Even got stuck under the map once. - ALL fights are very simple. Even if you find yourself getting low on stamina, you can kite the enemy around while it quickly regens. This also makes it easy to take potions for your health if needed, and potions are abundant. All fights are easily done with sword/shield. Only time the bow is needed is to shoot the gnome statues you can find. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME

It is really well done so far as a new game that still in progress goes. Have had a really good experience so far. Looking forward to the continued success and more content. I have had a couple friends play already and they are telling their friends too. I like the mechanics of it. The way you can change blades/bow and take meds really works for me. I was so surprised and happy when I learned I could glide. I LOVE accomplishment/achievements makes my game so fun.
For two blokes making a game on there own, that is this size and feel, well done so far! I know this is just EA and in alpha phase. but really for what they have going on at the moment it is very impressive, at least to me. I like the skill based system and you still level up your base vessel. Have skill based system is nice way to reward a player for giving them bonus for their play style. I am personally interested in how they are going to do the magic system. There a folks out here booing the game, come on this thing is truly in early access and not in beta yet. People be people, but use some thought before rating something as if its a finished game. its got a long way to go before it gets there. Enjoy the ride, come back and check out the progress once in a while and just be chill with it. there are other things you can do to occupy your time while waiting for the devs. Let them cook, they are on to something with great taste here.
I ran across Luminary by chance. I try not to purchase games on a whim. The last game I did that with was AOC. That was a huge Steam and I failure, among all the obvious failures. So far, I have played Luminary for a couple hrs. I am very pleased with what I have seen. The story line is creative, the game plays really well, it is visually pleasing to my eye. It is still very early for this game, so the world does not feel alive quite yet. But the game is keeping my attention with the limited content released thus far. This game has longevity written all over it, and I know my investment has already paid off.
A Great Start to Something Promising Luminary is off to an impressive start, particularly considering the game is being developed by a team of only two developers. Even in its current Early Access state, there is a clear sense of direction and a strong foundation for what could become a very enjoyable sandbox experience. Character Creation The character creation system is already in a solid place for an Early Access release. Having five playable races provides a good foundation for customization and gives players enough variety to begin experimenting with different characters. One feature I would particularly like to see added is a mirror, or some other way to revisit character creation after starting a character. Being able to return and adjust your appearance would be a welcome quality-of-life improvement. Exploration and Itemization One of the things I enjoyed most about the demo was exploring the environment and discovering its various paths, undercrofts, and environmental puzzles. There is clearly a lot of thought going into the world's layout, and I think there is significant potential for even deeper exploration mechanics as development continues. My biggest criticism here is item duplication. I would recommend avoiding situations where the exact same item can be purchased from a shop and then discovered shortly afterward in a nearby chest. Saving up for a weapon such as Vanguard's Justice, only to discover the same item almost immediately afterward, took some of the excitement out of the discovery. If you're going to encourage players to explore hidden areas, unique rewards would make those discoveries feel considerably more meaningful. That said, I really appreciated seeing locations such as the Undercroft of the Temple receive attention. Those kinds of spaces give the world a sense of depth and make me curious about what other secrets and locations will eventually be added. Music The music is already doing its job well. It provides a strong ambient backdrop without becoming distracting, and it contributes nicely to the overall atmosphere of the world. Combat Combat is another area that feels like it has a strong foundation. My main observation is that some of the basic weapon swings feel slightly too fast at times. I'm not referring to special abilities, but rather the pacing of some standard attacks. There are moments where the animation moves from feeling natural into something slightly uncanny before settling back into place. It's a relatively minor issue, though, and the overall combat experience is already enjoyable. I expect this is the sort of thing that will continue to improve naturally as animations and combat systems are refined. UI and Interface The UI and interface are probably where I noticed the most current Early Access rough edges. There are several areas that could use additional polish, including equipping items, occasionally spawning without clothing, and the quick radial menu not always displaying information accurately. These issues don't undermine the overall experience, but they are noticeable distractions. Along with the item duplication issue, I think these are some of the areas where additional polish could have a particularly significant impact on the player's experience. Looking Forward Despite those criticisms, I want to emphasize that I had a great time with Luminary. There is something genuinely enjoyable about the sandbox you've created, even in its current relatively simple form. The world invites experimentation and exploration, and I found myself wanting to see what was around the next corner. Considering that this is being developed by only two developers, the amount of work already represented in the game is particularly impressive. There is a strong foundation here, and more importantly, I can see the potential for the systems you've already established to become much deeper as development continues. I'm especially excited to see how you expand the exploration, itemization, character options, combat, and overall sandbox experience. The undercrofts, side paths, environmental puzzles, and hidden areas already demonstrate that you have a good understanding of how to build spaces that make players curious. Giving those discoveries increasingly meaningful rewards could make exploration one of Luminary's greatest strengths. Overall, Luminary is a great start. There is certainly polish and refinement still needed, but that's exactly what Early Access is for. Given the size of the development team, I think what has already been accomplished deserves recognition, and I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing what the next few weeks, months, and eventually the full release bring. Keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to exploring more of Luminary.
A Really Enjoyable Experience I've been having a really good time with Luminary. The game has a great atmosphere, and there's something really satisfying about exploring, discovering new things, and seeing how everything comes together. What I especially like is that it feels like the developers have put genuine care into the game. It's easy to get invested in the world, and I've found myself wanting to keep playing just to see what I'll discover next. If you're looking for something a little different and enjoy games that reward exploration and curiosity, I'd definitely recommend giving Luminary a try. Looking forward to seeing where the developers take it from here!
I was looking forward to this game until I put on the beginner armor, you can tell this game was built for men, down to the boob physics and to the way the armor barely covers your chest. I personally like to play a game where there is no Fan Service. Disappointing.
great game, its headed in the right direction but only 2 hours of game play at moment of this post also no real guide or story to speak of although is easy to figure out and the character customization is vary nice ass well except did not see any magic to speak of but there is a mana bar, keep up the good work dev you are doing a great job so far.
