Idle sci-fi RPG where combat actually matters. Crash-landed on an alien world, you rebuild through five skills, melee/ranged/void-magic combat, and a server-wide world boss. Progress keeps going while you're AFK. Solo, co-op, or faction raids. Free to play. No pay-to-win.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
You crash-landed on an alien world. The ship is scrap, the planet is hostile, and progress doesn't stop when you step away. Lost Vessel is a sci-fi idle RPG with real combat, deep crafting, and a slow climb back toward the stars - playable in thirty-second bursts or five-hour grinds. Free to play, no pay-to-win, ever.
Five skills pull you back from zero: salvage the wreckage, mine the planet, harvest alien flora, fabricate weapons and armor, analyze every sample for the next tier of everything. Each skill compounds the others - endgame materials require components from all five.
A melee / ranged / void-magic triangle where every enemy has a weakness. Crits, armor pierce, dodges, reflects, instant kills on legendary gear. Weapons degrade with use and break permanently if you let them. Fight through zones with escalating difficulty all the way to a dimensional rift at the endgame.
Equipment starts common and works up through rare, epic, and legendary at the Forge. Legendaries aren't just bigger numbers - 5% instant-kill, 25% skill-speed auras, damage reflection. Loadouts let you switch a combat kit, a gathering kit, and a backup with one tap. Durability matters. Repair matters. Choices matter.
Assemble I.D.L.E. from parts and you get a second skill queue running in parallel. He's sarcastic, he complains constantly, and he runs on Voidshine - a cross-skill endgame fuel that needs materials from combat, biology, and fabrication. Keep him fed and he grinds while you sleep.
The Nexus Drift is the co-op hub: 2-4 player expeditions, a server-wide world boss, and specialist jobs that pay weekly tokens. Raiders is the PvP side: pick a faction, raid other players, defend your colony, fight for territory. Both are completely optional - solo players lose nothing.
Offline progression is genuinely idle - skills work while the browser or Steam client is closed. A 17-track mastery system grants permanent passive bonuses every time you hit a milestone. Ship augments are a 110-level talent tree for fine-tuning your build. No energy timers, no stamina bars, no premium currency. Just progression.
Optional cosmetic supporter packs let you back the game and show off - exclusive titles, name effects, and profile flair. Cosmetic only, never power, never an advantage.

I like it. nice music, cool sci-fi setting.
Melvor Idle in space (more or less). If you like idle games it's worth a shot. Free to play and the monetization is extremely fair and non-intrusive.
This game isn't something I expected to like playing. I downloaded it and realized it wasn't an interface I expected. I like the layout. I'm not happy about only being able to work one skill without using the I.d.l.e. It's a bit of battling, mining, analytics and strategy. Try it. That's all I can say. I've been recommending people try it since I started. It's definitely worth a look

I've dabbled in Idle games over the years, but this one has to be right up at the top of my list. The fact that it is ZERO P2W is amazing. It helps to keep the sense of a community all working together. The dev, who is doing this all on his lonesome, is continuously adding things into the game. We've had 2 new buildings built entirely from the contributions of the players. He's active in Chat and listens to our complaints. He also isn't afraid to get goofy when us weirdo internetizens get weird. Great game and I can see myself sticking with it for a long time to come!
This is a very fun and well done Idler game, I highly recommend it to any one that loves these kind of games.
If you're looking for an idle game that actually respects your time, Lost Vessel is it. Zero Paywalls: There are absolutely no pay-to-win elements or arbitrary paywalls here. It’s a pure experience from the jump. Deep Progression: The game offers plenty of achievements, tools, and gear to grind for. The focus on augments, implants, and overall skill progression provides a ton of depth as you increase your player level. You utilize idle combat to gather mats, and the upgrade paths are clear, present, and supported by a highly useful codex. Addictive Pacing: The gameplay loop is fantastic. The game sets up addictive goals and uses proper time gates to hold your progress back just enough so that every milestone feels earned rather than rushed. Great Community: The active community, both in the Discord and the in-game chat, adds a ton of value to the experience and keeps things engaging. It’s a rare gem in the idle genre that actually delivers on its promises.
------------------------------------------------ As a player who grew up playing OGAME, I want to try every space-themed browser game out there, and Lost Vessel is no exception. The UI design is quite nice, but I am not a fan of how resources have to be refined layer by layer. After playing for about two weeks, I've found two major flaws: 1. An idle game that fails at "idling" This game steals your time. I have caught it three times where my idle session yielded zero progress—ranging from around 2 hours to a massive 8 to 9 hours of lost progress. After reporting this to the developer, although a compensation item was issued, its stat design completely fails to make up for the lost time, especially since it doesn't recover any combat experience at all. When I followed up with another email detailing the math, I was simply ghosted with no further reply. If an idle game can't even get idle progression right, can it still be called a game? 2. Excessively frequent updates causing rollbacks The game updates way too often, sometimes up to 10 times a day. These constant updates likely trigger frequent data rollbacks, which seem to be the primary reason why players keep losing their idle progress. It is quite rare to play a game that makes me increasingly frustrated the more I play it. While I understand that developing a game solo is hard work, such glaring and critical flaws make it impossible for me to recommend this to my friends.
A great idle game with a few areas you can play more actively if you want to. As well as Steam it's available via browser, which is how I tend to play so I have a lot more hours than Steam shows! The developer is very active, listens to feedback and engages with players. He seems to have lots of plans and the game has a lot of promise and a developing community. There is already a lot of great content, with more coming out regularly. And it's free to play (donations can be made but don't affect gameplay so it's not pay-to-win). What's not to like!
Idle games are for grinding. This one embraces it from an older school approach. You're going to be grinding a lot of long term goals with no automation, it takes a week to really unlock a lot of the game and you won't even have gotten to the 'reawakening' reset mechanics. The initial game has the usual ramp up, you're not grinding for hours at a time yet, so it helps you get into the initial story and feel for the game before the grind kicks in, which is good. The UI is clean and bright, graphics are basically item icons, they're cool looking but a little bit repetitive. The developer is actively working on the game and a daily part of the community. THERE'S A COMMUNITY. This game has chat channels with players who will help you out and if you give good feedback the dev will see it and action on it. So while this may not be the game for everyone, if you like old school grinds and idlers, give it a shot.
Max offline time is 8 hours which is less than a day of work which makes you leave your pc burning electricity during the day. Not free.
