14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Lost in Random, developed by Zoink and Thunderful and published by Electronic Arts, offers a distinctive blend of dark fairy-tale storytelling and inventive gameplay that sets it apart in the action-adventure genre. The game transports players into the unsettling yet charming kingdom of Random, a world where fate literally hangs on the roll of a die. This premise is woven throughout the narrative and mechanics, giving the entire experience a unique thematic cohesion that feels fresh and engaging. At the heart of the story is Even, a determined young girl embarking on a quest to save her sister from the clutches of a malevolent queen who rules over the realm with an iron grip. Players are accompanied by Dicey, a sentient die who serves as both a companion and a gameplay mechanic, adding personality and strategic depth to the journey. Visually, Lost in Random excels in crafting a hauntingly beautiful world reminiscent of a dark storybook brought to life. The art direction is heavily influenced by stop-motion animation, with meticulously designed environments and characters that feel handcrafted and rich with detail. Each of the kingdom’s six distinct realms presents a unique atmosphere, from gloomy forests to eerie cities, all bathed in a palette that mixes moody shadows with vibrant pops of color. This artistic choice enhances the game’s narrative tone, reinforcing the blend of whimsy and menace that pervades the story. Complementing the visuals is a hauntingly evocative soundtrack that perfectly underscores the emotional highs and lows of Even’s quest, further drawing players into this twisted, fairy-tale world. The gameplay in Lost in Random is a compelling fusion of real-time action and card-based strategy. Combat revolves around Dicey, who generates randomized sets of cards every time he is rolled, each representing different attacks, spells, or defensive moves. This mechanic introduces an element of unpredictability, forcing players to adapt on the fly and think strategically about how to best utilize the cards they are dealt. While this randomness can sometimes lead to frustrating moments, it reinforces the game’s central theme of chance and fate, making every battle feel dynamic and unpredictable. Beyond combat, exploration plays a significant role as players navigate the varied realms, encountering puzzles, secrets, and NPCs that enrich the world-building and offer respite from the tension of battle. While Lost in Random boasts many strengths, it is not without its drawbacks. The reliance on randomness in combat, while thematically appropriate, can sometimes slow down the pace or create uneven difficulty spikes, potentially frustrating players who prefer more control or consistency in their encounters. Additionally, the narrative-driven structure means that the game leans heavily on exploration and story progression, which might not satisfy those seeking fast-paced or highly challenging gameplay. However, these design choices are deliberate, aiming to create a thoughtful, immersive experience that invites players to reflect on themes of destiny, choice, and control within a beautifully crafted world. Overall, Lost in Random stands out as an imaginative and ambitious title that offers much more than standard action-adventure fare. Its unique combination of narrative depth, artistic vision, and innovative combat mechanics provides a rich and memorable experience. For players interested in a game that blends dark fantasy storytelling with strategic gameplay and atmospheric design, Lost in Random delivers a captivating journey through a world where every roll of the dice can change the course of fate.
cute game.
although the combat can get a bit repetitive and the game is very linear with no backtracking the story alone and the unique system which the game uses for combat which is unlike anything I have played before are more than enough to recommend playing
Pretty game for a couple of EVENings. But I thought it will become more mature and complex by the end.
At first (1), I thought Lost in Random was too (2) clunky and boring. Now I think it would be threeason (3) to just take it for (4) granted. This game is a constant high–five (5) to your mood. It's even greater than s... (6)
