About
Every run starts with you alone.
As you move across the map, choose a route that leads to valuable loot. Along the way, you will meet companions who will help you fight this difficult battle!
You need to collect a separate set of equipment for the hero and each companion.
Items do not have fixed slots. You can rotate them and place them in the inventory as long as there is free space.
Items become truly powerful when they start affecting one another. Some items have auras that strengthen weapons or armor in adjacent cells.
Sometimes moving an item by a single cell is enough to change the entire build.
In combat, you control only the main hero.
Companions act on their own. They already know what to do...
At the end of each biome, you choose one of two boss parts.
Each part changes the Guardian's appearance and power. After completing all biomes, you will have to face the final boss.
Some rewards in Lootbound cannot be obtained just like that.
In special rooms, you are offered several options with different difficulty levels. The more valuable the reward, the harder it is to obtain with a dice roll.

Yeah they got me with the "100 percent hand drawn" gimmick. The game is frustratingly annoying mostly on the warrior character. Took multiple tries to beat the sentinel with him but once I switched to the next character it literally only took me 1 try to beat it. Clearly has a balancing issue as well as the rewards they have for when you beat the sentinel multiple times being lackluster. Wow i did all that for a library that shows me the different weapons I unlocked woooow. Now I get a bestiary to show the enemies I fought so very cooooool. Its unfortunate I cant get a refund because I was too far in because otherwise I would have. Never playing it again

The game is entirely competent and far from bad. With that said, I don't recommend the game as it doesn't excel in any gameplay aspect compared to my experiences with other games. From a turn based game perspective, your choice of what to do on a turn was likely determined before your turn started making your choice of what to do not much of a choice at all. The combat itself is also has rather slow animations that make this system feel so much worse than it actually is. From an inventory management perspective, the game disappoints in ways I did not expect at first. Large items do not necessarily provide more stats. However, large items are substantially worse at benefiting from aura items which are your primary way to scale up stats. This imbalance leads to the only relevant items being strong aura items and small items which causes so many interestingly shaped large items to just never be used. Overall, you end up interacting with the inventory management system rather minimally as the best solution is trivially found and new items rarely change how you move items around once your inventory starts to get full. From a risk management perspective, the game fails in the worst way possible, there is no risk to manage. There are reward nodes that give you 3 reward choices of increasing rarity/stat magnitude. This system would be fine if most items weren't worthless and most stats so marginal to your success. When only one of the presented choices benefits you substantially, was there really a risk to manage? Often times, there isn't even one helpful choice... From a path choice perspective, there isn't a real choice. Deity nodes give you powerful aura items that outclass everything else several times over. Elite nodes provide twice as many items as normal combats, but with forced higher rarities which are sometimes better. Normal combats provide consistently better rewards than random reward events until the 3rd act, at which point blacksmith can high roll and you might have an item which gets double benefit from blacksmith. The problem is that all of the desirable nodes will almost always be found on a single path combined with elites often being easier fights than normal fights, especially in act 3. The game has more problems like there being too few stats and characters being too linear in how to build them, but those are relatively minor compared to the other gameplay elements that drag down the experience and wear down the enjoyability as they are realized.
What seemed like a good concept fell apart when it came to execution. That’s exactly how I’d describe this game. A pleasant, though not entirely original, art style combined with an interesting mix of mechanics—that’s what this game is trying to sell itself on. But what’s really behind it all? In short, it’s a game that lacks depth in its game design. The gameplay loop involves facing, instead of a boss at the end of each level, a choice between two parts of the final boss—often very similar—which you might never even see in theory if you lose somewhere along the way. (Although they could have let you fight them, or some kind of guardian, to give you a sense of achievement and progress). There’s a lack of variety across all levels—character skills, enemy skills, items, and so on. You can read more details in other reviews. On a personal note, I’ll point out the “brilliant” system where items automatically shuffle after every battle, which means I either have to constantly manage my inventory (which isn’t always possible given the item shapes and the fact that there are bonuses for placing them on the edge), or just accept the randomness of my build. Another disappointment is the quality of the dialogue. No matter how the relationships between companions develop later in the story, it all starts with nothing more than ordinary insults and complete misunderstanding. And I’m not saying it’s a bad plot; I’m saying it wasn’t written by a screenwriter. It’s so dry, it feels like it was generated by simple AI algorithms. Although who knows how much of this game is actually handcrafted... And finally, the controversy over the review—that’s just the last straw. In conclusion, I’d like to say that I might play a future, more substantial and deeply thought-out version of this game, but for now, all I can do is warn people and tell the developers that it’s not enough to just borrow a bunch of great mechanics from different games and combine them with a layer of art design—you still need to work very hard to ensure that every part of your creation feels meaningful.
I think it’s fair to call this game the successor to Slay the Spire and Backpack Hero. How else can you explain visuals just as appealing as those in STS and a system for storing items in slots just like in BH? Plus, it features my favorite pixel art... I’ll just give it a round of applause
Surprisingly addictive. I sat down planning to play for an hour just to kill some time, and somehow three hours flew by. I’ve completed Act 3, fully leveled up the Warrior, and I still want more. Unfortunately, there’s nowhere to go from here. Game definitely needs more difficulty levels. The third one is challenging, but I’m already craving a bigger challenge. I can definitely recommend this game. There are tons of different builds you can come up with, and plenty of items to experiment with. The only real downside is the lack of enemy variety.
