Glyphica: Typing Survival

- You discover all content/weapons/bosses/cards in about 5 playthroughs - Zero creativity in upgrades, all of them are damage/range/speed - Game incentivizes upgrading the same weapon, so playing optimally is not fun - Lack of synergies between weapons - No map/traders/secrets, singe arena - Too much RNG and useless items, which after seeing everything (P1) just makes it unfun True playtime around 3 hours

God, I love typing games, and if you also love typing games you'll enjoy Glyphica. I grew up playing Typer Island, a PC game for kids that taught you how to type (shout out to my other youth typists...it was all I wanted to do), and Glyphica feels like a grown-up and refined version of just such a game. The different weapons you can choose to play as are all unique and require different strategies to beat the levels. When I started this game, I thought, "Come on, this is too easy" and immediately regretted that as I began to prestige the weapons. This game gets TOUGH, but it's very fun and if you like listening to your keyboard go "click clack click clack" then it's even better.

TL/DR: Great game that does require a minimum modest typing speed and the ability to track information. Fantastic game while improving your typing and concentration. You can play for a quick session or for an extended period of time, depending on what your schedule allows and/or what you are looking for. The different weapons are interesting and allow for different approaches based on typing speed and one's ability to track multiple pieces of information. The secondary weapons are interesting as well and add a good level of depth and strategy. A word on many of the negative reviews: They often revolve around an assumed level of typing skill to be able to play. On one hand, this is a legit critique - if you lack basic typing skills, I can see how things could get a little rough. On top of this is the ability to manage the information on the screen, which could be overwhelming for slower typists. With that said, a modest 45 words per minute should allow someone to get into the meat of the trials. Long story short, like any skill based game, there is going to be a minimum level skill required to be able to make use of the basic framework. If you like typing games, I would recommend.

Perfect game for roguelike and typing fans. I really love typing and am often on MonkeyType, having something very similar but in a roguelike fasion has been a joy. Also nice to see that this game is getting updated regularly with content. Highly recommend!

Needs more difficulty settings and a way to skip some intro mess in Endless. Too easy at my 130WPM but family members find it impossible at 30WPM. Needs an easy mode for them and more hard mode and skip ahead options for me.

pro: 有很多双拼规则！ con: 没有五笔.. 希望可以在中文模式下允许去掉文字上方字母的提示。打双拼的时候上面还显示着全拼就很困扰。
