About
Every run starts with you alone.
As you move across the map, choose a route that leads to valuable loot. Along the way, you will meet companions who will help you fight this difficult battle!
You need to collect a separate set of equipment for the hero and each companion.
Items do not have fixed slots. You can rotate them and place them in the inventory as long as there is free space.
Items become truly powerful when they start affecting one another. Some items have auras that strengthen weapons or armor in adjacent cells.
Sometimes moving an item by a single cell is enough to change the entire build.
In combat, you control only the main hero.
Companions act on their own. They already know what to do...
At the end of each biome, you choose one of two boss parts.
Each part changes the Guardian's appearance and power. After completing all biomes, you will have to face the final boss.
Some rewards in Lootbound cannot be obtained just like that.
In special rooms, you are offered several options with different difficulty levels. The more valuable the reward, the harder it is to obtain with a dice roll.

Reviews
I agree with alot of the negative criticism but i don't see them as problems that cannot be overcome. If you can overlook some of the shortcommings and imperfections then i think this game is amazing. This game is a well executed creature managment meets backpack battles meets slay the spire like ,but in a creative dark beautiful art setting. The gameplay revolves around building inventory and a team of companions each one of your companions has their own strenghts and abilties that can compliment your playstyle. If you play damage you can make your companion a tank or healer and vice versa. While most games imo would start slacking and give the companions automatic stats and no variety this one delivers. Feels to me the developer gets it and didnt want to make a copy paste gimmicky game. So i agree some more mechanics etc would be nice but fundementally i think the game deserves praise.

____________________________________________________________ Lootbound is a roguelike with many strengths: it offers an innovative inventory system and features interesting characters and a compelling setting. It is a game well above average, especially within the indie roguelike genre. It isn't perfect, however; there are some issues that need addressing. The dice-rolling mechanic is, in my opinion, the most pressing concern: aside from new dice with different stats, there are no significant upgrades or additional dynamics built around such a crucial element. Another area needing work is the boss fight; the gap between the boss and regular encounters is massive, leaving little chance of success without (highly) favorable RNG. Even though I’m not a huge fan of the genre, the game won me over. It is well worth playing because, above all, it is fun—something that can’t be said for many others.
For a reason I can't explain myself, I really want to like this game, but I can't. The game promises you deep gameplay with endless replayability, but never delivers it. Looting chests with D20 rolls is actually fun, and even more fun is playing with your inventory in an attempt to build the best possible combo ever. The problem is that after a few runs it feels like you've seen it all. The same items, the same few variations of enemies, and dull phrases at campfires. You can't build anything unique for your character every run. There are 1-2 builds the devs prepared for each character, and you end up building one of these every run. Regular/Elite fights do not require putting much thought into it. Depending on RNG, you either basic-attack through every encounter or are annihilated without having the tools to overcome it. Same goes for the final boss -- there is no tactical gameplay, you just put your RNG and inventory-building skills against the boss, and a few more RNG rolls (evasion, crits) decide the outcome. At the start the game lures you in with meta-progression and a ton of unlockable buildings, but most of them are just lorebooks, and 4-6 runs per character is enough to unlock everything for them. I can't recommend the game, and I can't imagine how a few balance patches could fix the gameplay, but I want to wish the devs the best of luck. Maybe they'll manage to improve Lootbound, or their next title will be the desired step forward.
The game's difficulty is extremely unbalanced; the mobs leading up to the boss barely lose any health when attacked, yet the boss can wipe out the entire party in just three turns. After playing for an hour, you just get instantly killed by the boss.
Good concept, but there were some fumbles out of the start gate. I'm hopeful they address them, but as it stands now, I don't recommend diving in. The big issues are pretty core: - you have a party of three and have a stash for all three, but only control one. Having them noncontrollable means that they frequently waste turns and do highly nonoptimal actions, so they scaled the difficulty accordingly, but at its core this means your own party is a huge, unmanageable variable in fights and it feels pretty bad when your paladin forgets how to heal and instead hits a monster with 30k hp for 30 damage. - gearing is currently set up so that the least interesting builds are the best. auras (and double auras) mean that you're often best off just stacking tons of the same item, the smaller the better. Later act items are much more powerful, but you don't get enough to rebuild your pack so you're left with a lot of act 1 trash buffed by an aura. Blacksmithing in Act 1 and 2 is questionable at best because the gear won't stick around. Further, there's gear that gets stat boosts every fight which, if you luck into one, will be enough to win a run. - several stats are useless; initiative being the worst offender. really not sure how they got to launch with it in the game as it is - meta unlocks are too slow and uninspired. new dice don't even show you what they roll (and aren't that good anyway). stat boosts are nice but require multiple runs with multiple characters to just get to an acceptable starting baseline. There are other quibbles that other reviewers have mentioned. But needless to say, there's a lot of work that needs to get done before this is a recommend. It's got good potential, but right now it's about a 5/10.
Have to give a negative review; this game is awesome, but it seems to lack content. I've played it three rounds already, and it feels like there's nothing more to do. I'm looking forward to more content and updates.
There really just isn't a lot of content. You fight to the end boss on easy, then medium, then hard. Then I guess you do it with a different first character, for a slight change of pace. Not much of a change of pace, because your final team of 3 is pulled from the 4 player characters. This get's old quick. The gimmick of choosing how the end boss is built is very shallow. Tetrising the equipment to create bigger bonuses is interesting, but not enough to carry the game. For the price, I could only suggest this game if it had about double the content.
An excellent roguelike with an unusual loot mechanic, where you need to spend a lot of time in the inventory to perfectly arrange the looted equipment in order to achieve the character’s maximum stats. Otherwise, it’s a standard story: you choose branches that may contain mobs or bonuses, and after the run, you level up various improvements. If you’re a fan of this kind of thing, I recommend at least trying it out — especially since it’s on sale right now.
