Set within surreal environments that evoke a twisted sense of nostalgia, your focus is on navigating shifting spaces and concealed routes while piecing together fragments of a mystery woven into the Shroud itself.

Absolutely fantastic liminal horror game. It has a story that you can kind of piece together as you go along but still leaves a lot of unanswered questions. It has the atmosphere you are looking for in a good horror game. I felt on edge just from the background noises that kept going off as I played. Well done Everdeep Studios. I am looking forwards to seeing if you add to this game or whatever you all create next.
I just beat the game. A super trippy colorful realistic backrooms game where you journey across spacey play lands, smokey haunted grocery stores filled with shadow ghosts, paradise towns, glowing lights and Christmas lights mini play sets, magical playgrounds, bubble trains and so much more, A super immersive, fun and magical game full of funny moments and magical skies, love this game super cool :D
LIMINAL SHROUD
Another nifty liminal game except this one, it is MOSTLY all very well designed and doesn't try to waste your time by going in many circles! The visuals and sound design are truly the highlights of this game, making it such an eerie exploration while moving to your next "objective". Each zone or area, you gotta collect an item then advance to the next area. Simple and efficient.
POSITIVES:
+Outstanding visuals. You may not have a poolroom in LS but the graphics are top notch. +Sound design is truly immersive for the whole creepy atmosphere. (PLAY WITH HEADPHONES!) +Original level designs, especially the train rides! +"Straight to the point" playthrough. The game doesn't hold your hand but doesn't make you run in circles too. +Overall game is kinda short and can be done in 2 hours. I expected this so to me, not really a bad thing. +No bugs or technical issues encountered. +Demo available for tryout. +Perfect ultrawide monitor support.
NEGATIVES:
-Too linear at times? At least you can't "stay" lost for long! -Underwhelming ending that lacked impact.
OVERALL & RECOMMENDATION:
Overall, I recommend this game without hesitation. Short and sweet, direct to the point which could be a tad too linear for some, but was A-OK to me. I just wish the ending had a bigger impact or better resolution or something. If you're still on the fence, play the demo and wishlist later!
This is a unique take on the liminal space genre. Do not expect more of the traditional level 0,poolrooms stuff. While the levels are pretty linear - the art direction and "puzzles" kept me engaged.
Beautiful locations, a sense of dread, endless exploration, and great ambient sounds combine to create a wonderful experience I've been waiting for. The deeper you go, the more it feels like something is aware of me being here. I recommend leaving everything behind and jumping into Liminal Shroud. Well done, Everdeep Studio.
Liminal Shroud is much closer to what I wanted Subliminal to be. The high-fidelity graphics and refreshingly original liminal spaces create an atmosphere that feels genuinely unsettling without relying on the usual backrooms and liminal-game clichés. One of my favorite details about this genuinely eerie experience is the subtle shifting of the lighting and color, which provides the levels with an almost organic, pulsating quality—as if the spaces themselves are alive. It's a brilliant and surprisingly unique use of lighting that I don't think I've encountered in another liminal game. The magnificent score and shockingly effective soundtrack also blend seamlessly with the gameplay, heightening both the tension and atmosphere without ever feeling intrusive -so many times, it felt like i was being "followed" only to realize that this was the desired consequence of the SFX . And, perhaps most importantly, this is one of the first backrooms/liminal games where one can actually USE the random furniture lying around. I don't know why, but being able to interact with all this otherwise-useless (unused?) stuff was genuinely pleasing. If you're on the fence, give the demo a shot. It offers a fantastic slice of the full experience and should give you a pretty good idea of what Liminal Shroud is doing differently.
Short but sweet liminal space walking sim that gets the ambience and atmosphere perfectly. It's also got one of the most unique perspectives for liminal space in a long while. Instead of exploring the most popular types of liminal spaces (ie play rooms, backrooms, pool rooms, dead malls, etc) Liminal Shroud goes into a completely different direction to explore worlds that feel otherworldly. Massive walls covered entirely with curtains is one of the most unsettling but iconic aspects of these levels and brings to mind the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks. The sound design is also exemplary compared to most other liminal space games. The game IS short, but I feel it makes up for it with detail and striking design choices.
If you love liminal space games this ones for you. Great levels that are immersive and just long enough to not become a walking simulator. Few good jump scares along the way with audio that makes you question if you're alone. Great job devs!
Not typically a liminal space game enjoyer, but found this one to be up my ally and fun! Had some good laughs and scares, and confusion, but all in all it was great! Wish there was more levels to it lol. Would recommend for both liminal and non liminal game enjoyers! :)
