[code]Casual playthrough ~20 hours Played both on a Steamdeck and with mouse and keyboard [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45534557/]@MatureContent[/url][/code] I think the first thing everyone should know before buying this game is that this isn't as much of a total remake as e.g. the Skywalker Saga, but more like a rerelease of the classic games bundled into one launcher with achievements. So, playing this is very much the classic Lego game experience and not nearly as beautiful and polished as the Skywalker Saga and Legacy of the Dark Knight. When launching this game, you will first be greeted by a launch window where you can choose either one of the two Lego Harry Potter games. Year 1-4 and Year 5-7. These two games are not combined or merged in any way whatsoever with no save data moving over between them, so you can pretty much start with whichever game you want. I played them chronologically. [h3]Year 1-4:[/h3] The first game covers the first four movies in chronological order with most of the unimportant scenes cut out, leaving only the highlights. This game is from 2010 and since it has been mostly left alone in this rerelease, it shows its age and in more than just the visuals. This game is from the mute era of Lego games, so unless you already know the story, it will be hard to follow along with what is actually happening. The things you are tasked to do are also all simple and very repetitive with most of the interactable objects and puzzle games being reused in almost every area of the game. The only levels that felt somewhat unique were the few chase sequences and every final level of each movie which was usually some kind of a boss fight. Hogwarts serves as the free roam area and is pretty much indistinguishable throughout all of the first four movies. You can spend quite a bit of time in the free roam itself if your goal is to 100% the game, but mine wasn't, so I mostly just stuck to completing the main missions and followed the guiding ghost around the map to find out where to go. You also have access to a small collection of spells in the game which are unlocked gradually as you get further into the game. The spells are mostly just for breaking, building and moving bricks around and you will need to have unlocked them all to freely traverse all of Hogwarts. Beside the old repetitive and slightly generic gameplay you get with these older titles, I quite enjoyed my time with this first game and the only thing I found slightly annoying was the mandrakes in the second movie, that while of course important to the story, played too big a role in the actual gameplay. Having to constantly find a wardrobe to get ear protection instead of just making it an ability, made the second movie a bit of a drag to get through, but thankfully they were mostly gone by the third movie. The first game took around 11 hours to complete. [h3]Year 5-7:[/h3] The quality definitely improved in the later game, even with there only being around a year in between them. The last three movies look better visually and the missions offered more variance, that said, it was still very much the old Lego game experience with the mute characters and the still very simple level design. In this final game, you spend less time on Hogwarts and more time in missions and running around other locations like Hogsmeade and the Campsite. Hogwarts is still the biggest free roam area though and is pretty much the same as it was in the first game. The only difference is a few new areas and some new mini puzzles to complete to find hidden bricks and such. The missions, gameplay and storytelling has still improved though and I especially liked how you forget some of the spells you learned in the first 4 years when you arrive at Hogwarts again in the new game. The first year of the second game follows the fifth movie and this is where Dolores Umbridge takes over Hogwarts and switches out wand practice with book reading. It was just a good and natural way for the developers to take away all the spells you already knew and allow you to learn new ones throughout the story. The last two movies were also good and definitely better than any of the movies in the first game, though I had hoped for more from the Half-Blood Prince, since it is my favorite of the movies. The sixth movie just didn't do a good enough job at resembling all the movie scenes well enough, especially the flashback memory scenes with Snape and the Cave where they go looking for the Horcrux were kinda bad. The last movie while fun to play, unfortunately seemed to crash a lot. My game crashed two or three times in the 3 hours it took me to complete it and every time I lost like 20 minutes of gameplay, that kinda sucked. The second game took me around 9 hours to complete. [h3]Other issues:[/h3] While I didn't find that many other issues, there were still some that I feel like addressing. This game is listed as supporting Steam cloud, but my save did not carry over to my SteamDeck from my PC when I tried, so I don't know if Steam cloud actually works with this game or if it's just mine that is broken. Another issue I had was that the game would sometimes continuously get stuck in split screen mode. I had this issue in multiple different play sessions where I would constantly go into the menu to "drop out", but 10 seconds later, it would go back into co-op play again and then it would do this weird thing where I would control two different characters at the same time. [h3]Achievement Hunting:[/h3] This is apparently a horrible game for achievement hunting, as it is buggy and has a chance at locking you out of completing certain achievements. This is something that is quite common in older Lego games, so if you get this game with the intention to 100% it, be aware that it might not be possible. [h3]Conclusion:[/h3] I got this game on sale on the Steam store for 5,99 euro and at that price I can definitely recommend it, even if they are older games. Mesmo conhecendo a história de Harry Potter de trás pra frente, ainda dei risada em várias partes. O gameplay continua sendo aquele clássico. Explorar Hogwarts, resolver puzzles usando os feitiços certos, desbloquear novos personagens e voltar às fases para pegar os colecionáveis acaba criando um loop bem viciante, principalmente para quem gosta de fazer 100%. Eu já tinha zerado os jogos originais de Ano 1-4 e Ano 5-7 muitos anos atrás, então revisitar tudo nessa Collection foi uma ótima experiência. A versão remasterizada deixa tudo mais bonito e confortável de jogar, sem perder a essência dos originais. São todos os acontecimentos dos oito filmes divididos em dois jogos, com centenas de personagens, tijolos dourados, estudantes em perigo, desafios e vários colecionaveis espalhados pelo castelo. Uma coisa que sempre gostei é como Hogwarts funciona quase como um mundo aberto. Conforme você aprende novos feitiços, várias áreas vão sendo desbloqueadas e a exploração fica cada vez mais recompensadora. A versão remasterizada ficou muito bonita. O aumento de resolução e os pequenos retoques gráficos deixam a experiência mais agradável, mas sem descaracterizar o estilo clássico da série. Completar os 100% novamente foi tão divertido quanto eu lembrava. Depois de todos esses anos, continua sendo uma coletânea que prende do começo ao fim.
Imagine buying a game that includes two games you already own. The publisher claims it has enhanced graphics, but it's mostly just extra fog and lighting. To be honest, in HP 5–7 the changes are barely noticeable. And then they price it at the most ridiculous amount. ohh...
Starting this review I must state that trans people are valid and I absolutely despise J.K Rowling. I think it is hard to separate art from artists sometimes because in this situation, she did not make the game, she only holds the IP for the game and the people at TT Games created this using her IP. Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 is a port from the original games and is also weirdly buggy. Yes I enjoyed the first game, it is an OG LEGO game which makes it fairly mindless, I believe this is one of the first LEGO games to have an open world, being Hogwarts. Which in theory is amazing but in practice it's a shoddy mess. You'll very easily get turned around and lost on your way to where you want to go, ignoring the ghost studs that help guide you between story levels. When you're in the post game, trying to find the last gold bricks, students in peril, etc will drive you insane! Not to mention some of the collectables can actually be bugged not allowing you to legitimately achieve 100% completion. The second game in this pack being years 5-7 is, by miles, a better game than the predecessor. Collectibles are able to be viewed in each open world area by the Nearly Headless Nick ghost that guides you around the game so when you enter an area, you're able to see if you've collected everything or not. Making completion a lot easier. The levels are a similar quality except for two of them, I can't remember their names but ones where you fight Bellatrix, they make it so gruellingly long and boring when you have to mash X or A for a couple minutes until the fight is over but often they need you to do that multiple times. I still think despite these points, the second game is more enjoyable by far. I played this entirely on my ROG Ally X at 13w (Silent Mode) also at 900p. It was a smooth 60fps experience and lasted for 3-4 hours on battery. This game also happens to have achievements which is why I got it. The 1-4 game achievements are mostly just beat the game and do post game things with Voldemort, the 5-7 game achievements consist of beating each individual level and other completion things making 5-7 feel more enjoyable overall. With nostalgia being a part of this overall scoring but not forgetting how well I enjoyed it in my nowadays playthrough, I would have to give this remake a total of 6.5/10 from a completionism review. It's very grindy, there are very finnicky issues with it and mostly monotonous but I still enjoyed it as a LEGO game. (NOTE: You won't be able to 100% 5-7 if you are playing multiplayer, I'm not sure why but they do not allow achievements in the second game if you are playing with someone else, even if that's another controller Co-Op)
Great for nostalgia!
17.5 hours into my 100% completion run (doubling back after beating all missions, spending hours doing puzzles and unlocking bricks/characters), I am soft locked out of 2 characters and a gold brick (dumbledore’s office). GG. This game is a buggy mess, and they even didn’t bother to fix some of the softlocks people have been complaining about for 16 years before repackaging the game as is and selling it again. Incredibly disappointed

První čtyři díly se to dalo zkousnout, do té druhé části jsem se vyloženě nutil abych to dohrál. Btw hra má nějaký bug i když jsem měl nastavený svoje rozlišení tak se to vykreslovalo v nižším, což jsem vyřešil modem na odstranění zámku fps. It's a Lego game; fun, charm, and satisfaction from picking up shiny thing is literally baked into its DNA. BUT, its extraordinarily easy to soft-lock yourself from getting 100%, namely in years 1-4 because of devious Flitwick and his evil hatch. DO NOT ENTER THE HATCH WITHOUT A DARK MAGIC CHARACTER, -12 hours. There are a lot of glitches in general: infinite death loops, spells sometimes not working, consistent crashing in Flitwick's classroom (what's with this guy?), etc. Their far between each other so its not too annoying, but their almost unmissable.
First off, let me start by stating that I have NEVER played a Lego game prior to picking this game up. In a million years, I would never have imagined that I would love this game, and LEGO games, so much! I bought this as part of a sale, and being a big Harry Potter fan, I figured it was a no-brainer to jump on this game quickly. From the very beginning of the game I was absolutely hooked on the style and feel of the game. It was smooth and worked well with my style. I played this mostly on my Steam Deck which makes this 10x better! I was so invested and addicted that I 100% this collection. Put about 58 hours into it and it is completely worth it! I have now purchased additional LEGO games.
