Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game

7/10. I absolutely loved this game, but I think it just came out at the wrong time. It was way too expensive at launch, and it released during a period when people weren’t really trusting new asymmetrical games. As a result, it never got super popular, and the servers died pretty quickly so most matches you were lucky to find a full lobby without bots. If this game had more players, I think it could be amazing.

Actually a great game, illfonic did very good on this one, sadly its not as known and therefore community is rather small. I hope devs will do good on Halloweeen as they did with this game, If you have a friends group wanting to play a good horror game its this one but im not gonna lie, without a group you wont have much to do other than to play with the same 10 people or bots. I came in midway so i was lucky enough to find a lot of people still playing it, but I also "lived" through the "die down" of the game due to people abandoning it. Still a really good game, enjoyed it a lot, despite its querks here and there.

it's a bit iffy but for the most part it's pretty well balanced game play. As human, you always have hope that you can get back in the game as there is a resurrection machine as well as a revive card that has a rare chance to be pulled while doing the minigames in spectating. if you are klown and there is a large group of humans it can always tell the other klowns to teleport to you if you think you are going to die if you approach them. Escapes can be for the most part easily cleared if you are good at skill checks, however they emit sound that the klowns can see in the form of white bubbles which encourages the player to gather more humans just in case any klowns come around to stop you. I would definitely recommend this game if you are a fan of the movie however every once and a while you will come across a toxic person so it is just best to ignore them. All DLC are not needed and do not bring any benefit to you except visual cosmetics meaning that you don't need to spend anymore than the original price of the game to be good it only requires practice. I recommend that if you don't have other friends to play with then you should become friends with strangers or else the game can be boring. If you like a good, nonsensical game just to goof around and have fun this is the perfect game as it is not expected to be taken seriously. I hope this review helped someone make a decision on weather or not to purchase this game as it sure did take me a while to write.

give it some time to establish itself, and add new content to fully flesh out the experience, but as is its pretty fun at its core! Needs to add a few more content loops that dont require paying money or grinding out for weeks at a time, but the gameplay is fun and true to the movie as best it can

I want to like this game. And I mean I REALLY want to enjoy this game. Its such a big thing for me because I loved the movie so much. But this game just shows another failure on these devs record, which is so upsetting. Look, there is some positives to this game. If you have a group to play with, it can be a lot of fun. The nostalgia factor is for sure there. And the maps aren't terrible, though they dont feel too balanced. The problem is, there is SO many negatives. For example Ill start with the balance. It just, isn't really there. Humans have it insanely easy with the sheer amount of damage half the weapons output, even without added strength. The escapes take practically no time to start once you find the items. And there is SO many kill weapons everywhere with that increased spawn rate. Basically, playing as a klown without having a full team you communicate with, is just miserable. Half the time one klown dies and he rage quits, screwing everyone else. No penalty for rage quitting so why not right? Problem is the match often doesnt cycle someone new in, or it does and they leave instantly. Which brings another issue, the game is dead. There isnt enough players anymore to warrant staying in a match when most people leave. No one gets cycled in. You find a match fast, sure. But you will run into the same people constantly. No fresh players like, ever. Not to mention the countless changes that just outright removed content. Humans have 5 classes, but in reality only two of them are mildly viable. Used too, these classes changed the health a human had. But the devs removed that feature entirely, so most classes were just made useless. There is also issues with protecting objectives as klowns. Two of the four objectives, upon reaching a certain point, cant be hit with cotton anymore to slow progress, and breaking cotton barriers is insanely fast. There is so many more issues with the game, ranging from the way combat feels to half the players being way to toxic. At where this game has ended nearly a year later, this game is not worth it. Illfonic tried and failed to make this game great, and thats so upsetting to see. They dont listen to the community, they just remove content and add skins. This game doesnt have the years F13 the game did, its community will not last as long. I hope they make some major changes soon, but Illfonic has a pretty bad record with that, so I reckon this game isnt gonna change much and soon will be another dusted project. Ill keep playing for now, and update this should the game ever get the work it needs, but it just seems Illfonic lacks the drive to try and revive this game anymore, you can feel them giving up and its such a horrible feeling.
