Reviews
Good with friend. Some bugs and crashes.
As of now, the game is basically unplayable: - When first loading, there is no feedback on what's happening, which wouldn't be an issue if the game loaded within seconds, but you can stand there for up to 2 minutes waiting for the shaders to download/compile - Constant encode/decode issues in the right eye (DX11 helps a bit, though does not fix it) - Saving doesn't seem to work correctly, though I've not tested thoroughly - When entering an area (currently doing the church mission) a crash is possible, and even when you do get through, you are instantly welcomed by a creep and a mimic, which is basically guaranteed to result in a death, or at the very least a waste of syringes. Some issues could be caused either by Linux or streaming via WiVRn, but some definitely aren't. It's really a shame, as the first game is great, and this sequel seems quite promising in both world size and graphics, but it's just not there yet.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I bought this game when it was released as a public beta and unfortunately found that my CPU was lacking so I put it off as such and decided to wait a bit longer. Well with their official release around the corner and some newer parts, it seemed like it ran just fine....until I hit the steam button and the screen froze. Stopped the game, restarted, same thing happens. I'd love to try to play the game without getting sick. ALSO I just wanna play the game, it doesn't need this much handholding
i have only played for an hour this ♥♥♥♥ is already PEAK
Не понимаю, что они наделали, но играть теперь невозможно из-за просадок и зависаний. До последних обновлений работало всё если не идеально, то по крайней мере хорошо.
VERY buggy and rough around the edges but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if this isn't the best coop experience I've ever had in VR
Friendly fire is!
Edit: [9/8/26 after dev responded].... I run the game in dx11 i tried dx12 and it was worse. I also use openxr for meta cause steamvr on meta headset is awful as is. I tried both anyway but its bad on both. I tried tips and tricks from reddit and YouTube and nothing works. Will be waiting until game gets updated to optimization before recommending to buy. OG review: ---- Even after 1.0 game still feels like its in Alpha. Just got done playing through ITR1 and wanted to finally get ITR2. Short version: Game is very buggy, has major graphical issues, and freezes on me a lot (both quick 1-2sec and some that freeze my entire headset and need to restart it). Game isn't done and needs more optimization before I'd recommend it. More Detailed.....I'd like to start with thing's I like about the game. -Graphics looks nice compared to the first game (tho changing from low to high to me didn't make a massive difference besides shadows) -The weapon mechanics and movement is a major improvement. I like I can customize my weapons with various parts and camos, and I like how I can reload with one hand and hot swap mags and slap ak mags out and reload. Super cool mechanics. Now for the things I don't like (Lot more than I like) -The co-op/Multiplayer is awful. It crashes and has issues everytime I tried to play with my friends. Would avoid the game if you're trying to play with friends. -Game needs to get better optimized and fix issues related to the constant freezes. I tried playing this game on my pc (Ryzen 5 8400, 16gb ddr5, and a rtx 5060) and my fiencee's pc (I7 14700k, 32gb ddr5, and a rtx 4070 ti super) and both can't run the game stable at my quest 3 native 90hz on low settings with 90% res. I tried using SteamVR and Meta openxr both have the same issues with freezing and choppyness. The weight system sucks.....you don't get any movement penalties you just can't add more stuff to your bag after it's full. I miss the OG mechanics for that when it mattered what you had in your bag instead of limiting what you can loot which already isn't a ton besides Altered items. -The world isn't exactly great either. I like it more than the first game since these maps are filled with more buildings and things too see but, it also takes a lot away from how the game used to feel. I don't feel that ITR feeling I did in the first one at all in ITR2, and it's something I think about when I try to get into the game instead of being annoyed with the issues I deal with since I want to enjoy it. -The Anomalies are.....annoying. There are sooooo many in the most random spots sometimes and it's just annoying. This game also has a limit on the Anomaly detectors....only get 50 per container instead of it being an infinite bag of bullets to throw. Also they barely work on half the Anomalies especially on the electric ones. -The final issues I mainly hate is the fact that we have ANNOYING VOICED AI SOUNDING people that we work for and the friend we have that's helping us get freed by going to the center of the radius. We don't need voice lines from anyone in the game other than from entities and from any characters that actually mean something. The UNPSC lady doesn't need to exist...same with the Lauri dude. He honestly doesn't need to exist either. I feel like he was added so the devs could get interaction with players and always handshake us for whatever reason lol idk. I haven't gotten to the end or seen it but, I think we'd have a better or the same outcome without him. Miss the days of just exploring and figuring it out as we went....we didn't need help traveling to the zone or between them....now we do? I'd give the game a 2/5 for now in current state. It needs to at least get optimized, and fix some bugs before I want to play it anymore. Maybe then I'd consider making it a game to recommend...for not explorers I'd recommend scavenging the zone in ITR1!
So fking FUN! 10/10
