About
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is a side-scrolling shelter survival game that tasks you with guiding a desperate group of zombie apocalypse survivors to safety. Craft weapons, scavenge resources, balance your group’s needs, and try to get everyone out of danger alive.
Texas, 1980. Walton City is a sprawling, coastal metropolis in the grip of a scorching heatwave and crippling economic crisis. Everything changes when an unstoppable zombie outbreak reaches US shores. Walton City is soon overrun by hordes of the undead, the few remaining survivors cut off from any chance of outside help. Forced to band together, these everyday people must chase their only chance of survival by escaping the city.

Gather a group of ordinary people who have been left shaken by the sudden zombie outbreak that has devastated their city.
Establish upgradable shelters to house your survivors and protect them from the zombie threat — but remember that no barriers can keep them out forever.
Keep moving from refuge to refuge to stay one step ahead of the encroaching zombie hordes. Every night, your barricades will be under their relentless attack. And if they break through, your survivors will pay the price.
Balance the physical needs of the group, like Hunger or Exhaustion, as well as psychological needs like Despair. Heal survivors from injuries like Broken Ribs and try to manage traumas like Nightmares.

Creep through the remains of Walton City to scavenge precious resources, risking the life of each survivor as they encounter both zombie and human threats. Stealth is key to survival.
Choose whether to run from a fight or engage in brutal combat with whatever weapons you can find or craft. Not everyone is a natural fighter, but desperate people will do anything to survive.
Convince others to join your group or cut them down and claim their resources as your own.

Test your humanity as you make tough decisions on who will live, who will die, and who will be left behind.
Inhabit the rich and atmospheric cityscape of Walton City, the once-bustling metropolis now an eerie ruin swarming with zombies.
Craft tools, weapons, and shelter upgrades to better equip your survivors for the struggles ahead, or give them a moment of comfort and familiarity in their dangerous new world.
Encounter a varying world which makes sure that every playthrough is a new experience.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As I wait for State of Decay 3, this appears. It's a far more challenging version of the same kind of zombie survival game, except in a platformer. Stealth, survival needs, these are far more important, and fleshed out, than combat, which is itself infuriating sometimes. Life is fragile, and in normal difficulty and beyond, so much more fleeting. I also love the sound design. It's as nostalgic as it is visceral. Definitely worth a buy.
Overall, super fun zombie survival, coming from This War of Mine and Project Zomboid, feels pretty fresh. After the newest update, combat has improved so much (based on other comments) dodging is no longer laggy I guess, and the stun time was ideal. Shout out to the details of each stage, the design and background was outstanding. Sometimes I would just clear zombies and walk through each room trying to picture what happened there, compare each shelter's layout, watch the nxked zombies do their thing..... you get the idea right? The atmosphere is definitely there, and the zombies are not overwhelming if stealth was properly used. Not complaining, I feel This War of Mine's combat is harder and trickier. Also, the love the choice of weapons, compared to other items, weapons has the highest variety. Poking a zombie with a halberd feels like a Dead Rising reference and was pretty enjoyable. I don't like how fast they go bust in the beginning, but then weapons are quite easy to get and make. Characters are struggling but generally useful as long as you micro-manage your gang. Their skill growth seemed a bit overlapping, although a few are obviously stronger, so getting those makes a difference. But managed right, I feel anyone party can beat the run. And I became a Mei simp. TWO THINGS I really wish'd for (maybe 3): 1.a simple map marking system for easier tracking, since usually a spot will be visited twice. 2.stat counts at the end of each run, for example, zombie kills, wound suffered, drinks consumed, weapons used, spots visited, negative stats gained. I dunno, feels like a fun thing to view. 3.Each characters bio development during/after the game (I really enjoy the personal side mission like Michelle's and Hao's)
Absolutely phenomenal game
Es un juego excelente y me encanta a pesar de que ya n oes tanto de correr como en los otros titulos aun asi es muy buen juego y lo recomiendo eso si, si bien es buen juego todavia siento que falta optimizacion de todas formas me encanta
The latest updates have significantly improved the game's balance and added more depth to the gameplay. As a result, the overall experience is much more enjoyable and takes the fun to a whole new level. The game can now be recommended with confidence. The Hard difficulty is well balanced and exactly what I was hoping for—a genuine challenge.
