Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Jul 24 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The game was originally good, but it didn't update anymore. After a wave of money, it ran away and everyone avoided the pitfalls.

Inkbound is an addictive games with some really strong gameplay hooks. Sadly, the game also has a plethora of issues that really prevent Inkbound from shining. The Good Inkbound's combat feels unique yet familiar, and although some of the mechanics take some experience to truly understand their potential, the combat is engaging and deep. As you play through a game you will make choices based on some RNG items and abilities in terms of how you want to build your class (binder). There are some really fun combinations that can be very powerful into the run. The progression of a run feels good at lower and mid levels, and incredibly challenging at later levels. All the different classes feel really different and it's awesome to build them in different ways. For instance, one classes uses thread to tie enemies together-- gaining buffs for threading each of them and being able to deal lots of AOE damage. Another class specializes in defense gameplay which works well with items that allow you to return damage that is dealt to you. There is a ton of complexity and depth with the enemy types and you have an option to choose harder paths with better rewards. There are a lot of decisions to be made, yet none of them feel too overwhelming. I really enjoyed the music and the art is not bad. I admit that some of the 3d models don't look the best, but all in all the character and set designs are fine. I really like the artwork on the cards. There really didn't need to be a story for the game, but I actually found it to be pretty interesting. I found the development of the characters and their relationships to be engaging. So all in all I will say that I enjoyed the story, but how it was implemented is incredibly bad, which I will get into in the next session. The Bad There are some system level design choices made in Inkbound that really detract from the fun gameplay. The quest system feels so burdonsome and overwhelming. There are a lot of quests, way too many in my opinion. The way they are executed in Inkbound really disrupt the way you want to play the game. For me, a Roguelike is about getting into a new run and seeing what happens and trying out new item/abillity combinations. I want to load up this type of game and jump right in. But a lot of the games progression is actually locked behind quests. This is okay for some quests, such as win a run with X character, but really struggles with some quests that require you to use certain items or go down certain paths. The issue with this is that depending on RNG, those items may not drop, and those paths might not be what your build needs. So doing the quests makes the game really challenging because it forces weird decisions that just weren't necessary. I found that I couldn't do quests on the highest difficulty level, and had to go down to difficulty 10 to complete them with relative consitency. I didn't want to play at rank 10, I wouldn't to play at the highest rank but I wasn't able to do that because the quest system was preventing me from playing how I wanted to play-- that feels bad. Some of the quests also have you do the same book (levels) many times. It gets VERY repetitive. In order to progress the story, you need to do a LOT of quests. It's wild that after completing one of the final story quests, I saw that the steam achievement for doing that was something around 3.5%. Less than 4% of people actually completed the story-- That is not good. The story needs to help hook the player into the world, and the endgame should be solely about winning higher difficulty runs. There is no reason that the story took me 120 hours to complete in a rouge-like. Admittedly, I wasn't just grinding quests, but again that's because many of them were annoying to do. I also feel that the difficulty is way too steep a curve. I've played Inkbound for over 100 hours, and I feel like my ability to win at the highest difficulty is based on whether I get rare drops or certain abilities very early on. Some runs feel absolutely impossible. I've played ShinyShoe's Monster Train for over 1,000 hours and I feel like their difficulty feels a lot better in that game. Every run in Monster Train can be won at the highest level, but you really need to have good knowledge of the game. Maybe I'm just not good enough at Inkbound, but it feels more like imbalance and less like a skill level. So all in all, I really loved playing the game despite some really huge problems with the game. I doubt it will get future support, so try out the game of you love complex, strategic gameplay, and infinite playability. If you are looking for an incredibly polished, well refined roguelike, you might consider passing.
This isn't a bad game, there's a lot that's good about it, but in the end there's just not enough variety. In many ways it's modeled after Hades but with a different combat system. The difference is it's too easy to win a run. You will accomplish this fairly quickly. Then there's nothing to do but keep repeating it over and over again... literally you're given a quest that says just do the thing you just did 3 more times. Okay, now 5 more times. The gameplay just isn't engaging enough for that to be fun.
This was one of my favorite games to no brain launch, because every run was enjoyable and playing with friends was very fun. I was excited to see what they released, and ready to drop money on DLC, but unfortunately the devs quietly dropped development. I will not be supporting anything these devs do in the future regardless of what the game is. Buy this game on a deep sale.
Its sad that the devs gave up on this game, but I've gotten a ton of fun hours out of it. Do I wish they would keep updating it? Sure. Am I going to downvote a game because they won't? No. Its fun.
It's a really fun strategy game, just a shame the devs abandonned it
I don't think I can recommend Inkbound unless you really like the combat that is on offer. While the game is finished (as per the devs) it doesn't feel complete. I paid ~$8 for this game and after having played 4 hours and defeating 2/3 bosses I feel like I've seen most of what the game has to offer and am done playing it. The main offender is that this game suffers from lack of variety. There are 6 areas/biomes, 6 total minibosses (unique to each area) and 3 main bosses. The general enemy variety is also quite low which leads to runs feeling quite similar. Depending on the character you pick you're generally limited to approximately 2 obvious builds and directions to go in. While this can be helpful to determine what you can build it's also quite limiting and makes many choices feel underwhelming. Somehow there are too many stats even with this lack of variety meaning you really have to specialize and get punished if you don't. There are also some encounters that are an immediate loss if you encounter them while having a specific build. My main gripe really comes down to the lack of variety in enemies and bosses (plus the lack of different music tracks). The runs are relatively fast which is nice but much of this feels like it's due to the lack of choices to pick from to make your run interesting. Even after just 4 hours runs felt very similar to one another. The hub area also feels incomplete and many NPCs essentially do nothing but add more items to the pool. Overall the game feels like it's lacking several systems, more abilities per character, and a good amount of polish that could really make it shine. Inkbound gets a thumbs down from me. The game won't be getting any more content updates so what you see is what you get. I had the same feeling about lack of boss variety with Monster Train 2 and I hope Shiny Shoe addresses this and other similar complaints in whatever they make next.
Here's the thing... This game is a phenomenal Rougelike. I've enjoyed playing it and at this point I am committed to the 100% grind before they shut the servers down. HOWEVER, the entire story line, items, and characters are all direct rips from the Cosmere literary universe written by Branden Sanderson. They stole literally all of the content in from this used them as their own ideas. Had I known that, I would have been more hesitant to support this
Great game, but the devs abandoned it.
