It starts strong but I ended up being very bored with no desire to continue once I hit the 3rd Tower upgrade. There's a lot of clicking or pressing to hold to craft. For a game like this I'd expect some more automation but even with teh little robots its still very slow. Worse is that I cant even let it run in the background as if the program isnt active, it pauses the game. I give it a "buy on sale if you've got nothing else to play."
🌿 I Am Future – Cozy Apocalypse Done Right At first, I struggled a bit to find my bearings in I Am Future, but I got the hang of it far quicker than expected—and from that moment on, I had an absolute blast. Every time I thought I was ready to log off for the day, I unlocked something new, and... well, there went another hour. That, honestly, is the highest praise I can give a game. 🛰 The Story So Far You wake up alone in a cryo-chamber on a seemingly abandoned planet. Four human-like robot NPCs soon join your journey as you uncover what went wrong, try to reconnect with the spaceship Eden, and piece together the past. 🔧 Survive, Build, Explore Your adventure begins on a quite large rooftop. Bit by bit, you'll clear overgrown areas with your tools, gain access to more zones, and eventually build a massive bridge to reach new rooftops. One crucial early-game milestone is acquiring the riveting hammer. 🧠 A Thoughtful Cozy Survival I Am Future is dubbed a “Cozy Apocalypse Survival” game, and it delivers on all fronts. With multiple difficulty settings, both newcomers and veterans will find the challenge level that's right for them. I was only scratching the surface yet - but i already heard to expect to spend at least 25 hours just on the main story—and there's much more to discover beyond that: hidden rooftops, side quests, and the NPC friendship system (gifts are your love language here). 💬 Final Thoughts From farming and crafting to deep exploration and meaningful story beats, I Am Future is a standout title in the genre. It’s relaxing without being boring, challenging without being punishing, and heartfelt without being cheesy. The story wraps up nicely but leaves plenty of room for a sequel or a major DLC. I’d love to see this indie gem evolve into a lasting franchise—it has everything it needs to grow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The start is very standard with a bit of sauce, I came from ReStory (which I adored) and it was very charming to see that those deconstructing mechanics actually came from this! I understand what they were going with cozy. Unfortunately, manual work does not always makes an experience cozy... There are some baffling game design decisions here. I want to clarify that this was my experience, as a guy who loves games like Minecraft, Satisfactory, Planet Crafter, Forager, Raft, Valheim, etc. There a lot of things I personally enjoy and not enjoy so some of my personal complaints might be completely okay with you. 1. Time marches ever forward at a steady pace, something like 24 minutes a day. You can skip time by sleeping! It speeds time up by 6x, which sounds like a lot, but going from night to day takes a full minute, every time you want to skip night... 2. You can't build a bed to sleep in, you have to climb the slowest stairs on earth to get to this chair you can use to sleep. 3. Time marches ever forward except when it doesn't. If you feel like your production and farms are slow it's because EVERY SINGLE MENU YOU OPEN (and expedition you go to) PAUSES THE CLOCK. Pausing the clock pauses THE WHOLE GAME, which makes the "items you can only get by having a machine spend 3 minutes crafting it" insanely frustrating. 4. What starts as an interesting mechanic of clean up (hammers, saws, drills, etc, that each have a different way of cleaning up your roof) slowly becomes your worst nightmare, to the point that i had to look for a mod that makes those interactions instantaneous. There are so many things to clean up and they can take 1-6 different interactions to remove. It's nice to get resources but when you open a new area and you see... The horror... Dozens if not hundreds of disassembles ahead... 5. Fishing. Fishing is boring. Fishing is slow. You need lots of it for fuel. 6. Farming is under-developed. Honestly not even developed. You have 1 type of garden bed you can upgrade to an electric one to make it faster, and other than 1 plant that you can use to generate electricity, it's all for food. 7. Food is bad, feels shoe-horned in. 8. Electricity is under developed. The only sources are solar panels and bioreactors, which fits because there are very little buildings that use it. 9. Movement makes me want to implode. Every time I forgot to do something at another place in the roof, or saw a crafting requirement for multiple planks of wood, sheet metal and/or plexiglass I shivered. Max level you can only carry 6 at a time iirc, and you're SLOW, no way to speed your character up or a sprint, just... Pick up 6 boards, hold W for 30-120 seconds. 10. Loading screens where loading screens simply should not be. Expeditions are simple maps with waypoints you click to get to shops or resources (with 2 exceptions), this SHOULD NOT HAVE A LOADING SCREEN THAT GETS SLOWER AS YOU PROGRESS. 11. Performance. If you see my specs, I have a pretty beefy laptop with constant temps. At the high preset on a 2k monitor I was getting 110-130 FPS, which is unusually low for a game with such a simple style, but not abhorrent, the biggest thing are the hitches. Sometimes opening a chest or a machine will make the game freeze for half a second. It's not... Horrible. It's just weird that it happens at all. 12. Didn't use minions at all. I *tried* to. Engineer and Watering roles were the only ones that felt useful and looked like they worked properly. Unfortunately, Engineer minion just stopped working at some point, had to start micro-managing electricity again. And also, there are no farmer minions, you can only harvest manually. I'll stop here. There are many, MANY other things like baffling expensive items (like floors?? Which are almost end-game?? And you'll have to live with holes in your roof until then??), but I think you get the idea. The game's cheap, it offers around 12-20h of main progression plus many more if you really want to polish your roof with decorations and efficiency, so yeah, give it a shot, I just can't bring myself to recommend it. Go play ReStory, their other game, that one's fantastic.
Combines all of the dumbest mechanics of weak games: FISHING and constant 'click pain' -- this game is something only 5 year old girls "MIGHT" enjoy for a moment. You will regret playing this, I PROMISE. Btw, this is the 2nd only bad review I've left on a game out of many hundreds, and I enjoy a vast variety of games. Take that for what it's worth
Limited scope, but good game. Has a pace of steady progress akin to putting together a jigsaw puzzle — an interlude I appreciated between more demanding games. I binged it while listening to spoken-audio stuff. It might also be of interest to kids who aren't quite ready to jump into Stardew Valley, as well as players of Stardew, Animal Crossing, Graveyard Keeper, etc. who are done with those games for now but looking for something similar. Optimization isn't great, and when returning from the world map (which should have just been a 2D overlay), reloading the main area takes a surprisingly long time. It's still completely playable though. The robot helpers, which automate many repetitive tasks, are excellent about not getting in your way. You can push them aside, they'll stop to let you by, and you can mouse over them to see their intended paths. Unfortunately, some key tasks (harvesting crops, harvesting wild plants, producing repair kits as needed) can't be automated even in the endgame, and you can't use different storage priorities to concentrate particular things in particular containers automatically (although an individual container can have an item blacklist or whitelist set). Did you notice the airplane scene on the store page? There are only two "explore this 3D tableau" sequences and they're just brief, minor setpieces. Primary gameplay is strictly in the main area, clearing rubble and setting up your base. The game is more finite and less open-ended than some other builders. While in theory you could continue expanding and refinining your base to make optimal use of the entire area, at some point before you finish doing that you will decide you've got the game figured out and move on to the next one. But it's a fun ride up to that point. Despite some quibbles above, this remains a positive review. Edit: forgot to mention the minigames are on the simple side.
I enjoyed playing this game and unlocking all the achievements. There was an end but wish there was more.
I'm pretty mad that I got suckered into going past 2 hours on this thing because once you reach a certain point you have to just wait ALL DAY EVERY DAY for your bitcoins to pile up so you can buy ONE item and then wait ANOTHER WEEK for more bitcoins and/or scrap pieces because you spent them all on the spray for the stupid worms. Literally my routine right now is to feed the bioprocessor, water my plants, send the drone out and get like two items, and then wait all damn day until night so I can keep the worms off my plants. Repeat repeat repeat. Plus you can't just craft, you have to pull the stuff out of your boxes to craft. Inventory management is a pain in the ass. Maybe it gets better idk but this is ridiculous.
Great game, the end game drags, is tedious and is non-existent but its a good cozy game up until the mid-end game
