Hypnospace Outlaw is a '90s internet simulator in which you scour Hypnospace's wide variety of weird and wonderful websites to hunt down wrongdoers, while also keeping an eye on your inbox, avoiding viruses and adware, and downloading a plethora of apps that may or may not be useful.
As part of your job as a Hypnospace Enforcer, you'll be watching out for copyright infringement, internet bullying and more, with reports and rewards coming direct from the Hypnospace Patrol Department to your inbox. In your spare time, you can customize your HypnOS desktop however you see fit, with a variety of downloads, wallpapers, screen savers and helper bots to keep you company.

Crashes quite frequently. When not crashing it is more of a trip to the worst era of early internet than an actual game. Feels like work actually. You get tasked to regulate a forum, browsing myspace like sites, each equally irrelevant and no interesting story evolving at all. I simply could not motivate myself to waste more time on this. I am aware of how this all plays out because after I gave up I had a look at a playthrough and still think it was the right decision to drop this early enough.
So good! I'm sure so many people already know how good this game is so I won't blabber on too long, but please play this.

Now I've done it. Not only am I SWEEPIN IT UP, a filthy janny in my own free time. I have PAID to sweep sweep sweep it up, literally not even doing it for free I paid for this privilege! And you know the worst part? Despite how nightmarish and corporate the whole experience it is. I get a sick sort of thrill when I slap the banhammer down on some content that breaks HYPNOSPACE® LAW! The game even started with some unsettlingly AUTHENTIC eLearning experience, not only did it put me to sleep, I was jump scared when the text to speech voice changed to some dude with a bad webcam microphone bellowing more corporate compliance at me. Then there are the graphics. Its like someone distilled down both archaic and contemporary Internet culture. They perfectly captured it, added in a healthy portion of GeoCities and Myspace CSS. Jiggling your cursor actually makes the computer go gudder. Almost every page has music tracks, you could disable the music but why would you? The user generated text is filled with edge and angst and I want to go back. I want to live in a world before NINE ELEVEN! I want to live in the world before Mark or Tom. I don't even remember if SMS texting was a thing but I wanna go back to when the Zune was a joke and everyone hated it. I wanna go back to before anime was mainstream and ruined. I will give up Toby Mcguire Spiderman to go back to the world I am seeing reflected in my monitor that is this game. I hate what we have become, I hate this world... This is ridiculous! I hate Earth. It's a horrible home. People are stupid and confusing! They have a restaurant called Applebee's, and they don't call their appetizers apple-tizers. That's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!

Nice trip down memory lane, the visuals are quite insane. Unfortunately the game itself is quite tedious to play. Uninstalled after the 4th or 5th case as I was forcing myself to play more than I was enjoying it.
Great game! Really cements that late 90s/early 2000s vibe. The game keeps crashing with a white screen. I have done everything I can to fix it but it still happens randomly from time to time. Other then that, the game is really entertaining to play and the world building is really interesting! 7 out of 10 Would give it a slightly higher rating if it didn't crash so often!!
