Lascia qualcosa.
Hypnagogia presents itself as a weird walking simulator at first. You just walk around a small level, talk to NPCs which may or not have a veiled social message in their dialogues, and then find yourself out of it rather quickly after clearing your objective in a rather anticlimactic way. You [strike]wake up[/strike] get teleported out of it abruptly and then you find yourself in a new level again, with a complete new setting but very similar course, since it's immediately clear you'll need to walk around a lot again and find a certain something. All of this sounds very boring and yet chances are you're already starting the third level, appreciating yet another new visual and setting, as well as the curious dialogues of the various NPCs and the endless references to classic media of the past. As a matter of fact, the deciding factor (in thinking this game was special) for me was that third "level", which starts just like the other two but soon becomes something different, something bigger, something special and truly... dreamlike. This third level was the closest thing to a dream I've ever experienced in a videogame. The way it changes and completely shift the direction and the vibes is just like a dream, it doesn't have to give you a rational reason and yet you know deep down there's a perfectly good emotional one, so you don't question it. I was a bit stunned after finishing it, then kept playing. Were the other remaining levels as impressive as that? Only one way to find out.

Perfection. From beginning to end. A Masterpiece in the Exploration and deeper meaning genres.

Was cool and interesting and then decided it wanted to be some cheap horror game. Meh.
Don't put off playing it for a month like I did!
Something about this game really spoke to me, especially the ending dream (Heaven) and the emotional interaction you can have with Thera. Hard to say, but it almost feels like a reflection of the creator. Like they're projecting their feelings onto the player (in a good way of course) in regards to the people they've met on their journey through their life and the effects they've had on others and/or vice versa. The style also resonates with me a lot since the PS1 was my very first console growing up, and not to mention I'm a sucker for games that are surreal, psychedelic, and atmospheric. Amazing game, and I look forward to the prequel you are working on as of this comment, keep it up Sodaraptor!

Not much to it and the shards "puzzle" in Forest World bugged out on me. 9/10 and walked around forever only to realise after watching a video walkthrough I wasn't missing anything it was just broken.
Uma sequência incrível do primeiro Hypnagogia que age como uma galeria 3D dos sonhos do criador.
