About
In Hyphen, you must guide a constantly rotating stick through a series of intricate neon mazes. Avoid walls, dodge obstacles, outmanoeuvre enemies and survive the traps standing between you and the finish line.
It may sound simple, but every movement demands timing, precision and patience. One small mistake can send you straight back to the beginning, turning each completed section into a hard earned victory.
Hyphen is designed for players who enjoy a genuine challenge. It can be tense, frustrating and infuriating - but finally conquering a level that once seemed impossible makes it all worthwhile.
And when you've conquered the campaign, the challenge doesn't have to end. Create your own levels with Hyphen's Level Editor, share them through Steam Workshop, and take on Community Levels created by other players. Whether you want to build something clever, creative or downright cruel, the same tools used to create new Hyphen content are now in your hands.
Accompanied by glowing neon visuals and an energetic original soundtrack, Hyphen delivers a fast, fluid and intensely addictive test of skill - with an ever growing collection of community made challenges waiting beyond the main campaign.
36 challenging campaign levels filled with obstacles, enemies and traps
A powerful Level Editor for creating your own Hyphen challenges
Full Steam Workshop integration — create, share and discover player-made levels
Community Levels let you take on challenges created by other players
A fast-paced 11-track original soundtrack composed by Andrew Lloyd
Unlockable bonus minigames
Support for keyboard and controllers

Hyphen is ideal for fans of classics such as Irritating Stick and Kuru Kuru Kururin. We have increased the intensity and taken a no-nonsense approach to the level design, creating a game for players who are not afraid of a serious challenge.
Beat the campaign. Master the impossible. Then create something even worse for everyone else.
Do you have the patience, precision and determination to reach the end?

This is a beautifully balanced and something-for-everyone type of game. For the average-to-good gamer, it's not as hard as other ultra hard platformer/puzzle type games, like Super Meat Boy, because it has a number of player-defined checkpoints in every level, a system which works really well (although the constantly rotating neon hyphen always respawns in the least convenient orientation possible). For the more hardcore type, there are bonuses which are only available by finishing every level using no checkpoints and with no deaths, which brings it up to the masochist level of challenge. Some levels require a second try because you didn't know the map layout, but overall, the controls are very precise (with a controller - don't even attempt this game with a keyboard), the game is never unfair, and you can reasonably expect to progress smoothly- the last 1/3 of the game takes longer than the first 2/3, but that's to be expected as the last few levels are long and have some pretty hard bits. I thought the music was not that great, but the visuals are quite nice, and you can turn sound off and play your own tunes if you want. Overall, if you enjoy platformers and puzzle games but are sometimes put off by evil level design, you will likely find Hyphen very satisfying. And protip- you can skip the upside-down Y puzzle near the end of the game completely ;)

Getting from one point to another while dodging frustrating obstacles is the premise of the game. It tests your patience in ways you've never known. If you aren't careful, you may end up cursing the world around you due to the frustration that had built up in trying to beat this demonic game. I can see the appeal but ultimately, it isn't for me.
THIS GAME IS THE SORT OF GAME THAT MAKES DARK SOULS LOOK EASY. This game litery is the definition of sh!ting on some ones grave. This game looks so nice and easy but it is so hard that by the end of your life you would of had to by 5 new computer monters 10 new mouses and 100 more keyboards just by playing this game and raging so much about how hard it is and the funny thing is you probely would not even of compleated the game by the time that you die in real life.
Super hard but super fun :)
OMG! I have been waiting for this for a while. Now that I have it. I don't know why. I love this game and hate it at the same time! SO FREAKING RAGE INDUSING I LOVE IT! 10/10
Have I gotten past level 9 (the first "medium" difficulty level)? No. Have I kept trying? Yes. Am I #1 on the global deaths leaderboard? Soon.
really good indie game, recommended
This is a great frustating puzzle game. You'll die a lot. But it is really a fun game. You keep trying and you feel strong when you finally go through that damn small passage. :-) Hopefully, you can choose to put checkpoints across the map whill you progress. Choose wisely where you put them. Otherwise, you might regret consuming too much them at the beginning of the map in later parts of a given map.
cant help but get frustrated every time i get stuck, sometimes i'll scream and swear and threaten to uninstall it..... but then i'm loading it up again, because i dont want to be a failure. Such a sense of satisfation when you get past THAT part (you'll know what i mean)
