Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.43/day in the week to Jul 30 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

When your hero wakes up, you are just starting a game: the music is everything. It requires skill, has a story without words, beautiful pixel art. Nothing like this will ever be recreated, in all likelihood. Such an enriching experience.
I personally really loved Hyper Light Drifter! However I do have some cons along with my pros. First off, there's no text really, just images which I personally really like! The game allows you to come up with your own theories, but if that's something you don't like, this game probably isn't for you. My biggest negative with this game is that the combat can be really tricky and frustrating to figure out at first. Eventually though, I figured it out and wound up feeling super accomplished with myself! Another negative is it can be pretty hard figuring out where you're supposed to go sometimes and I did have to use a guide- but if you enjoy exploring games through and through, you may find that aspect fun! As many say, the soundtrack is very beautiful and comes in at really nice moments that makes you wonder what is going through Drifter's head at that moment- oh, and Drifter! I love the silent main character troupe, so if you dig that, you'll probably love Drifter as I did! The little victory pose he does after a hard fight really adds a charm to his character ^^ The ending truly did get me emotional too, it's not like many I've seen in games, and it leaves me thinking about this game even a few months after my first playthrough. I do recommend this game if you can figure out the map and combat systems lolol!
Y'know, looking back, this game wasn't really all that gas after all. It's like you are actively discouraged from hunting down secrets with how inconvenient moving around/keeping track of locked doors is, while the map provides zero help in actually navigating the world in any practical sense. The combat is also surprisingly frustrating, since the game seems to routinely drop you attack/dash inputs, especially when pressed in quick succession. There's no need to mention the story, since there might as well be none.
I’m very late to this party. This game truly is a masterpiece. The music, the art, the story told through the environment and small little sprite cutscenes with no dialogue. The game doesn’t hold your hand whatsoever. You’re thrust into a mystery and must piece together everything, while making sense of the world. The combat still holds up, as does the gameplay overall. The exploration is amazing, and carries a degree of puzzle elements. Being perceptive will take you far. The upgrade system is really neat. You find gear bits scattered across encounters and the world. They’re what opens up your movement, combat ability. The combat is simple but deep. It has a flow and rhythm, but each player can develop their own. If you like souls-likes, you’ll feel right at home. If you don’t like souls-likes, this won’t deter you either. Bosses are really fun and challenging. If you find yourself looking up guides, which probably isn’t a bad idea, just to give you a little advanced ideas, because the game will not explain anything to you. The advice in those are really good, but I do wholeheartedly suggest getting a feel for what works best for you, when it comes to upgrades. I went in the opposite order of what they recommend, and that worked best for me. If you’ve never played this game, would like to experience a true work of art,a beautiful world and story, fun and engaging combat and exploration, look no further. We need many more games like this. I’m heartbroken to hear that the sequel was abandoned. This is a universe that would’ve been amazing to flesh out more.
I wish I could give a "neutral" rating - the game doesn't really deserve a fully negative review but I felt more negative than positive about it. Visuals: This game gets a lot of rave reviews for the art, and if you like pixel art then you may enjoy it. I admittedly am not a fan of pixel art, but I don't mind it in some games and it's so highly rated that I thought I'd give it a try. I appreciated the colors and the imaginative settings, but I could never get past the 270p resolution, which is low even by pixel art standards. It just doesn't look good on a big screen, and it often makes it hard to even tell what you're looking at. What is the little floaty guy following me around the whole game? No idea, because he's like 5 pixels total. Gameplay: Some good ideas and decently fun combat, but also very frustrating at times. I am not averse to challenging games, but some of the mechanics in this game were really annoying and made many deaths feel arbitrary rather than mistakes I could fix. This is exacerbated by the fact that the game explains NOTHING, and some mechanics are just too counterintuitive to learn by trial and error. (I didn't even know dash chaining was a thing until I had almost beaten the game and saw it mentioned in a forum - with the weird and precise timing required, I otherwise never would have discovered it) Story: I can tell there is supposed to be a story here from the frequent cutscenes, but they are so cryptic and abstract that I never understood a single thing that was happening. I'm okay with not having my hand held and piecing together clues (a la Hollow Knight), but in my playthrough the story was so indecipherable that it may as well not have existed. Other note: This is supposedly a game about exploration but in practice it felt more like walking around the border of every room looking for hidden passageways, of which there were many. Also trying to figure out what was traversable or not, made more difficult by the painfully low resolution. All in all: good for a quick playthrough if it's under $10 but largely overrated, imho. Decent combat let down by fiddly mechanics with insufficient explanations, good art let down by the absurdly low pixel count, and intriguing story elements let down by the lack of, well, story.
