Unfortunately this game is no longer in development. With an early access launch and no end in sight, I can't recommend this game in the state that it's in. While it was nice to jump in time and again to see the game evolve, it is not worth the price tag. I hope that we might one day get a finished version of this game as it had a lot of promise...

i dont normally do reviews for demos or early access cus the game isnt finished, but it seems the game wont be updated anymore so i guess its effectively finished. which is a shame cus this game has so much potential that will never be realized. combat is okay, all the weapons feel unique but not all made equal. the environments are okay, there just needs to be more cus u see the same 3 every game. the boss designs are awesome and satisfying to play against and beat. as it is right now, the gameplay loop is pretty dull and uninspired. they were in the process of figuring out what the goal of the game is beyond just doing runs, and there is NOTHING to do besides play the game. very few unlocks, no cosmetics, no goals. you get a cool weapons that u want to play around with? too bad, it goes away with the run. same with holos. the characters feel really samey as well, theres almost no difference in how you play the game between characters. overall big shame. this game could have been so cool but we'll never see it.
Arc games killed this roguelike, Heart Machine wanted to release a 1.0 major patch before discontinuation, Arc said no. Horrible publisher.
I loved both Hyper Light Drifter and Solar Ash, and was hoping that Heart Machine would deliever once again. Unfortunately this game's development has been halted due to layoffs, and thus will never be completed. Regardless of those layoffs though, the game as it stands currently is still clunky, and never quite found its footing. The performace is abysmal as well, and now nothing will be done to remedy any of this. This game is not worth $30 in its current state, nor should it be labeled as early access when development has stopped. Thus, I cannot recommend this game to anyone. If you really want to try it for yourself then I would suggest waiting for a steep sale before purchasing.
this game lowk sucks
Abandoned Game. Was alright and getting better, but isn't worth near what they're charging and has been abandoned.
I like this game. It had a lot of potential, but after the last two announcements as of writing this review and...Arc Games, I cannot recommend it. I feel bad for the developers who were laid off.
