good game but development has been halted until further notice

Can't say enough how much I love this game. Absolutely astounding mechanics wrapped in a crazy cool presentation through abstract storytelling once again, interesting art and visuals and the actual gameplay loop which I personally can't get enough of. I should probably play a bit more of it but man it's so good that I had to get it out there. Ironically enough, just saying to anyone for whatever reason using s t e a m r e v i e w s to see if a product is worth buying with real money, what I, YeetInfection96 or Shadowhisperer says here DOES NOT MATTER. Do your own research with the infinite sources of far more objective reflections of gameplay, like idk entire playthroughs. I guess I'm just putting my extremely subjective random opinion down here like anyone else. If you don't like the game upon getting it literally refund it's not a big deal.

Having "Beat" the current game I honestly have to change my review. As it stands you are far better looting at something else if you want a roguelike experience. The game is far to shallow with next to no build or skill expression and the map itself is largely empty and uninteresting. Once you realize that most if not all of your problems are solved by B lining it for the objective and yoloing the bosses the massive cracks begin to show. Progression is horribly slow and almost non existent since the permanent upgrades amount to band aid fixes for the glaring flaws with how the game itself is played. Why would I want 10 or 30 health for discovering a shrine when I don't be actively looking for one unless I want to extract and reset my health? Everything about this screams $30 alpha and we are the test subjects blindly and willingly grinding away at a game that doesn't even have it's core loop finished.
Not sure if I need to clear the first seed or not, or if it's a glitch with my save data, but game will not keep save data, want to enjoy it, but keeps booting me to the tutorial and all the shops and my upgrades are reset. Did not have this issue back in March/April when I first got the game, now that I'm getting back into it, I am. Edit: 11/6/25 Devs got laid off, so much for the sequel.
Could've been fun. It's not, it's really not.
this game is genuinely good. it didn't deserve majority of the hate it got and it honestly brings so much to the rouge like genre that most games can't. im really hoping this game sees some kinda development soon :c
Really wanted to believe in this project but it’s just not happening at this point. They bit off more than they could chew with this game. Should’ve just made a more faithful sequel/successor to the first game instead of chasing trends. it’s not worth the money now and I doubt it will be when the last update hits, but I’d love to eat my words.
