About

10+ unique and incredible characters & 15+ Birth choices.
You begin by choosing your name and your animal body, and each form already shifts the course of your life. Your Birth Bonus defines the major advantage of that run and sets your build on the right path from year zero.
From there, your life progresses year by year, always faced with three Scrolls. Each choice can grant attributes, percentage bonuses, gold, healing, equipment, unlocks or even battles that completely change the direction of the run. Growing steadily over decades or chasing immediate power can be the difference between staying alive or falling far too soon.

160+ Scrolls with unique texts and varied bonuses.
No year is ever the same. Each Scroll represents a concrete decision in your life: training your body, studying techniques, embracing risk, following a philosophy or entering into conflict. Choices accumulate and shape who you become over decades. Every run creates its own story, with its highs, its falls and paths that exist only because of the decisions you made.

140+ unique skills & 30+ unique pieces of equipment.
The heart of your run lies in combinations. Skills and equipment create synergies, trigger effects, stack bonuses and scale as the years go by. Some builds grow slowly, others explode at the right moment. None of them work without planning. In Animount, there is no ready-made build. There is only the build you constructed from what life offered you.

10 Sects with their own paths and powerful abilities.
Joining a Sect means embracing a way of life. Each one offers philosophies, bonuses and different routes, changing which Scrolls appear, which battles you can endure and how your life develops. Some prioritize discipline and endurance. Others focus on risk, speed or raw power. The choice does not only define your build. It defines your destiny.

35+ enemies with diverse builds, 3 exclusive Bosses & 10+ unique Combat effects.
Combat is an Idle simulation based on attributes, where everything you built truly shows up in battle. Skills, equipment and life choices translate into visual effects, triggers and effects capable of completely changing the course of a fight. You face increasingly dangerous enemies and mandatory encounters until the final moment of confronting Drammul, the Lizard King.

Defeats are not the end. They are part of the cycle. When you die, or even when you win, you cross into the final stage: the Hall of the Ancestors. There, your life becomes legacy. Unlock permanent upgrades, open Meridians to expand your skill slots and expand your arsenal by unlocking equipment slots. Unlock new animals and new Sects. Every run leaves something behind, and every return brings you closer to the life capable of freeing Animount from the claws of Drammul.

Against my better judgement I gave this a try, knowing that the demo had pretty terrible balancing and accessibility issues. Those issues remain. If you are at all susceptible to being motion sick (rapid zooming/shaking effects), or sensitive to flashing lights, avoid this game as there's no way to turn those effects off and they happen frequently. And much like the demo, a little knowledge of scaling math breaks game balance, and the skill list is wildly variable ranging from actively harmful to useless to extremely overpowered. As for metaprogression, while most of it is horizontal (content), the pieces that are vertical (power fantasy) make a start extremely more powerful than without them. They don't seem to serve a purpose overall other than to pad playtime. There is an ascension difficulty system that according to the developer has five levels, but given the state of balance within a run I have extreme doubt that higher difficulties make for a more reasonable experience. A game built on Pick 3 and scaling stats can and has worked in other games, but it falls flat here.
Very fun game for the price. There isnt much content i would say and you'll see everything in ~4 hours. However, for the price, its well worth it, its very fun while it lasts.

I'm going to be very honest in this review. I bought the game immediately after watching a YouTuber play it—I really liked the base aesthetic and the principles, the game's logic, so to speak. But in less than 1 hour I had literally already bought all the meta progressions in the game (excluding one which cost 1000 souls, just needed another run) , and I have to say that in its current state, the game feels very bland. The idea is great, the art is cute, but I think it's missing a lot. So I'll go ahead and list everything I noticed: -I think the biggest request to change that need to be fixed asap—I’m practically begging here— for the devs, is, for the love of God, add a setting to reduce camera shake caused by attacks. Seriously, it’s extremely draining and can be nauseating for many people. I hadn't even played for two hours before I started *avoiding* looking at the actual fight; I’d set the speed to 4x and focus mostly on the HP bars and stats, simply because the shaking made me so uncomfortable. My recommendation would be to add a slider ranging from 0% to 100% camera shake (or even higher, for the mad ones). -Meta progression that ends in 1 or 2 hours of gameplay. Look, if even you can't give me more than 2 hours of gameplay unlocking new things, it doesn't feel very motivating to keep going, and that's one of the reasons why I'm giving it a negative review and returning the game. Honestly, I think you should consider ways to update this metaprogression—it's not good as it is. For comparison, let's look at other indie games like Megabonk (which, by the way, was made by just one person), Shogun Showdown, Decktamer, or generally any other roguelite game with metaprogression: you'll have at least a good few, maybe even dozen of hours unlocking everything (like megabonk), but here the metaprogression is so easy that it becomes unfortunately—pardon the term—tacky. -New finishers. The only one is literally the character raising and lowering their arms, nothing more. Its kinda cute, but absolutely become boring quickly. -Different outfits: if you watch the videos on the store page, you'll see that all the main characters have the same outfit. Yeah, there's even an option to "use accessories," but at least so far, with 1 hour of playtime and 1 or 2 wins (I don't remember now), not a single option has appeared anywhere—not even to buy or to acquire. It's like it doesn't even exist. -There are builds that are extremely strong compared to others—so strong that they make the player not want to try different builds, because they know it'll work if they go down certain paths. -The music is.. okay? Best than others, but could use more variety. -Anyway, I'm a little disappointed. The game's price doesn't seem to match what it delivers, but I genuinely hope the devs will add more elements. But honestly, I think it would have been better if they had waited a bit longer before releasing it. -But well, best of all to the devs. Hope to see the game thriving. :]
super fun Game, worth your time
This game, Heritage, is one of my top games all time. It's very good, and I recommend buying this amazing game.
First of all, I want to highlight that I really like this game. Playing the full version made me really happy with how the game let me explore multiple builds and trying to make some weird skills work. Regarding the content of the game, it feels very complete. Although I'd love to see more skills, having all 10 sects available make space for so many builds. For example: trying to make an EVA build using Serpent and Peacock was very fun. Going into battles, the game feels a bit stale from time to time, where things don't change much. Playing the cultivation mode helps a bit on that, but the challenges don't seem to make the run that different until you reach the final levels. I liked the story as well, and I wanted to see more of it, so it was a bit frustrating to not see it being explored. Again, I wanted to feel more of the game. Overall, this is a great game and I'm loving it for the time being. I'll keep on playing and exploring so many builds. If you like autobattlers with roguelite mechanics, and a different kind of roguelite, this game might be for you! It's one of the first games that I've seen exploring both stats + builds + storyline in this kind of genre, so always cool to see these kind of mechanics coming together.
Wow! I love this game! Each run is interesting with the different choices that you have. I hope they add more skills and other stuff in the future!
非常好玩非常上頭,簡單的數值遊戲,胡了就開始爽,沒胡就死了下一世再來。適合不想煩惱,輕量思考直接來一局
Loved this auto-battler, you have tons of builds and paths to chose from, a lot of different mechanics, items and ideas. Has great visual identity, soundtrack and unique sounds to it. The game scales pretty wildly, so you can test the games boundaries and break them in a positive way, definetly my favorite thing to do while playing it. I recommend everyone to give it a shot!
