About
Hellish Quart is a local-only (two players play on one PC, not online), physics-based sword fighting game. Set in 17th century Poland, it features a cinematic story and the most iconic sword fighter archetypes of this period.
With motion-captured fencing techniques and four gamepad buttons representing four attack angles, you'll need to use timing, technique, and speed to defeat your opponents. Choose from a variety of warriors and take part in cinematic story mode, arcade mode, safe sparring, quick fights, survival mode with online leaderboards, or local multiplayer. If you want to hone your sword fighting skills, you can spar with wooden weapons or train in modern HEMA gear. And for the ultimate experience, Hellish Quart also offers an optional VR mode.
Please note that the game is still in development and only supports local multiplayer (two players play on one PC, not online).

Hellish Quart utilizes active ragdolls and real-time physics to get you the ultimate fencing experience. You can attack from four different angles using the four gamepad buttons. Different button combinations enable special attacks and combos. When you are not attacking, your character automatically assumes a defensive stance, blocking your opponent's attacks using the autoguard feature. Proper timing, technique, speed, measure, and wits are all crucial to winning, just like in real-world fencing.
The game is set in the historical 17th-century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the character models are based on 3D-scanned, reconstructed clothes from that period. The single-player campaign, once completed, will be firmly rooted in the reality of life in the region. You will duel against Zaporozhian Cossacks, Polish Hussars, Tatars, Turkish Janissaries, Swedish Reiters, French Musketeers, and more.

Reviews
It is one of the best ever fighting game created, maybe even the best. It is THAT good. The hyperrealism forces you to strategize and read your opponent properly and what a great feeling it is when it finally feels like you're getting the hang of it. No spam, glitch, exploit, frame data and everything else that feels like it "mechanizes" fighting. It's entirely physic based. And it is glorious. Made by only 2 devs!!!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Mechanics are terrible and the game is more frustrating than it should be. It feels like the player has the power of a toddler and the ai is stronger than a gorilla at times. Its not well balanced. I trained in HEMA before I got injured in the military. I have longed for a good swordfight and this game did NOT help me scratch that itch. Instead it made me want to snap my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller in half with it inconsistencies.
Very addicting and a good time killer. I love the mecanics. I cant wait to see this game develop more. Runs well on my system. I recommend this game to everyone I talk to. Well done dev(s) keep up the good work!
kinda crazy that there is only 10 minutes of story play in a game made in 2021. i got it for cheap but even still wtf is that
VR模式是第三人称,也不支持VR控制器
super cool, the attention to detail and the large amount of research and effort put into the sword techniques and footwork is evident and impressive, plus having local multiplayer is pretty sweet and was the big sell for me. would definitely recommend!
I purchased this game expecting it to support native VR gameplay. However, it only runs in desktop/ theator mode inside the VR headset and requires a mouse and keyboard to play. This is not the VR experience I expected.
Don't know if this was deliberately made extremely difficult, but whatever. You want hours of frustration in an attempt to get a few ducats, only to lose a bigger amount to "wound treatment"? Be my guest. Samuel is unbeatable, at the end, and the rest of the game is obviously unfinished "Early Access" because why release a finished product when you got free playtesters on Steam? End of story, fix it, make it winable, otherwise it's not worth its dime. Obviously, after the 20th rage quit in a row, it was time for an Uninstall. Not gonna be playing it, too bad I can't ask for refund anymore.
Innovative game but difficult to understand general flow
