About
Hellish Quart is a local-only (two players play on one PC, not online), physics-based sword fighting game. Set in 17th century Poland, it features a cinematic story and the most iconic sword fighter archetypes of this period.
With motion-captured fencing techniques and four gamepad buttons representing four attack angles, you'll need to use timing, technique, and speed to defeat your opponents. Choose from a variety of warriors and take part in cinematic story mode, arcade mode, safe sparring, quick fights, survival mode with online leaderboards, or local multiplayer. If you want to hone your sword fighting skills, you can spar with wooden weapons or train in modern HEMA gear. And for the ultimate experience, Hellish Quart also offers an optional VR mode.
Please note that the game is still in development and only supports local multiplayer (two players play on one PC, not online).
physical sword fighting using Active Ragdolls

realistic historical fencing techniques
optional VR mode
Hellish Quart utilizes active ragdolls and real-time physics to get you the ultimate fencing experience. You can attack from four different angles using the four gamepad buttons. Different button combinations enable special attacks and combos. When you are not attacking, your character automatically assumes a defensive stance, blocking your opponent's attacks using the autoguard feature. Proper timing, technique, speed, measure, and wits are all crucial to winning, just like in real-world fencing.
The game is set in the historical 17th-century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the character models are based on 3D-scanned, reconstructed clothes from that period. The single-player campaign, once completed, will be firmly rooted in the reality of life in the region. You will duel against Zaporozhian Cossacks, Polish Hussars, Tatars, Turkish Janissaries, Swedish Reiters, French Musketeers, and more.

This is such a cool idea, and at least at two hours in, I'm fully in. Even as someone who doesn't play fighting games, I enjoy playing this. Also, the story mode (one chapter in) is pretty sweet. I can't wait for the dev to make more chapters!
Muy bueno, esta muy guapo
Слоу мо! Оно на деревьях! На стимдеке, на пека, везде. Игра не плохая, но играть в это нереально.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

any sword player know winning a sword fight is Timing and to see the opponents next move! and that is what this great game is all about. Buy it Be Hooked;)
immense learning curve, but the controls really arent as bad as some people make them out to be. if you like fighting games with button combos you might enjoy this game a lot. hopefully it keeps receiving updates though, as i wouldn't recommend buying it at full price considering the lack of multiplayer and finished campaign.
very good game very fun and realistic but its impossible to win against marie js delete her tbh
Hellish Quart is like For Honor if it wasn’t made by Ubisoft and didn’t put me through immense torture and systematic emotional and mental breakdown. Also, just add tekken in there for the funnies.
a lot of FuN

I have played this game for some time, and while my hours on Steam don't represent it since the game itself lacks a built-in multiplayer, most of my time has been spent playing against real people, be it in tournaments or in practice for tournaments, through streaming the game, which only counts the hours for the host. edit: The game is playable again, and while the comunication issues might or might not improve will affect if this review stays positive, I really love this game and now would recommend the game when it's on sale. The next character looks more polished than last two ones but that will remain to be seen after he's released. In all my experience, I can say that I cannot recommend spending money on Hellish Quart, maybe if it's HEAVILY discounted. The (only) developer refuses any contact with the community, be it regarding balance changes, actual plans for the game's development, bugs, testing new updates, or even basic Quality of Life improvements like a character selection button from a fight pause screen. The last update made the game unplayable for a lot of people. We have no information so far about if the update will be reverted or if the problem has at least been noticed. If things improve, I'll happily change the review because I really enjoy the unique fighting experience it provides.
