Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 17 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Classic Survival Horror Emerges from the Depths
Heavy Metal Death Can is a Retro Inspired Survival-Horror game set on a submarine in an alternate history version of late 70s Sweden. Trapped in the depths of the Norwegian Sea you must fight for survival against the terrifying Sludge which has possessed your crew mates and turned them into horrific zombies. Look for survivors and uncover the truth behind the madness.
A Return to True Survival Horror
Step into a claustrophobic, rust-ridden nightmare inspired by genre-defining classics of the PS1 era. With limited ammo, fixed camera angles, and analog dread, every creak of the hull might be your last.
Fixed Cameras. Real Tension.
No handholding. No over-the-shoulder comfort. Your fear is earned.
Inventory Matters.
Manage dwindling supplies, makeshift keys, and enigmatic keepsakes from a submerged past. Every bullet counts—and you will never have enough.
Retro Revival Aesthetics.
The game’s art style draws inspiration from the vibrant backdrops of late ‘90s horror and adventure games, reimagined with modern rendering technologies.
A Morbid Can of Death
Discover the chilling secrets behind the incident on the vessel HMS Domherren. Each corridor reveals fragments of a buried conspiracy... and something not quite human.
Alternate History. Nordic Noir Meets Deep Sea Horror.
Immerse yourself in a Swedish setting where otherwise cozy cultural staples are contrasted with the metallic callousness of industrial brutality.
A Lovable cast of survivors.
Along the way, you'll encounter other survivors—like the enigmatic Milton and the nihilistic Captain Olof—each with their own agendas and haunted pasts. Trust is scarce, but cooperation is the only way home.
Soundtrack from the Depths.
Drenched in distorted guitar, analog synth and unsettling silence. Every note is a nail in your coffin.
Features:
Old-school terror meets Swedish submarine surrealism in this survival horror in the style of early console classics.
Fixed camera angles and tank controls (with modern options) lend a haunting atmosphere to the game.
Uncover a twisting narrative through uneasy alliances and strange encounters.
A nostalgic visual style inspired by '90s horror games, enhanced with modern rendering technologies.
Unique Late 1970s Swedish Naval setting gives you a creepy sense of fauxstalgia for a place in time that never quite was.
Really mostly enjoyed this up until the final boss battle, where the game's difficulty ramps up at a 90 degree angle. The room you must retrieve the sample from before starting the final boss battle is meant to drain you of all your resources or simply get you killed, filled with obnoxiously dark portions of the static backgrounds of the game that make navigating it a nightmare. Then, the static camera angles of the boss chamber are positioned in such a way that a core element (repeat pistol ammo pickup from the vendor who couldn't have just given you tons of free ammo BEFORE the fight because for some reason a barter system still needs to exist among crew members at the bottom of the ocean while everyone is counting on you to save everyone's life) extremely finnicky to reach and causes the camera to shift constantly during the battle which also makes the controls especially more abysmal during this fight. I've played plenty of survival horror games and I understand the nostalgia of tank controls and static camera angles but there's a reason they're a thing of the past. It would have been fine honestly if there wasn't such a perfect alchemy of intentionally bad elements in the last 15 minutes of the game. I even tried changing the difficulty settings to easy just to get through the playthrough and I realized difficulty settings are tied to your save game file and I was out of cassettes for saving so each attempt was an absolute chore to go back and re-change the settings and re-initiate the ending sequence. I get that all these things are just staples for this genre of game but I think I'm finally at a point where I'm okay admitting that I just don't like them. They were fine in 1998 when that's all there was, but I'm old now and my time is valuable. Disappointing.
Первая игра, где можно кидать снюс
A real gem in the indie horror genre! I love the metal touch, by which I mean it’s hard, it’s hardcore, and it feels like a metal tin can. It is sometimes relentless in its resource management, but somehow the devs have managed to hand you just the minimal amount you need to fulfill your tasks. Besides the gameplay, which definitely satisfies my nostalgic nerves, the story is actually robust. It even manages to bring a twist that, at least for me, I didn’t expect at all! Fantastic game, recommended!
Jogo incrível! Amei a estética e, melhor ainda, as músicas! Quando vai sair o álbum?
Nice little resi like game. Enjoyed it.
Really good traditional style Survival Horror. Put in about 4 hours for a run that resulted in 1 hour total (3 hours dying, etc. >.>) Several interesting achievements to pursue on top of the baseline 'made progress in the game', plus it makes good use of the level layouts. Combat is simple but does the trick, and it's probably a 9/10 for its price point. Definitely recommend if you've got that old school itch and want a quick fix.
I really really enjoyed this. Great aesthetic and a unique (in a good way) soundtrack. No real complaints on the pacing or getting stuck anywhere. I had ample amount of resources to comfortably clear the game. My mom and I love old school survival horror games like these so thank you for the experience.
