Although it seems like a Frankenstein at first glance, this mash-up of dungeon crawler, rogue-like, action RPG, trading card game manages to blend all these styles gracefully and beautifully. Combined with an original and enticing story that lures the player to roam the world, this is truly a master piece and provides a unique experience that everyone would be grateful to discover. The only aspect of this game that could be improved in my opinion would be the controls. Some times parrying prevents you from dodge rolling an attack, and moving in a different direction from the one your character is aiming causes the player to move in an arc, usually treading right on top of the very trap you were trying to avoid. Other than that, a magnificent game to enjoy.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

little bit cluncky but still great
It took about 17 hours for me to finish the main boss run. I then played another 10 hours to unlock all the encounters/cards. So a total of 27 hours of enjoyable play time using the normal/default difficulty. It probably would have been less if I would have figured out some boss mechanics faster. After mostly unlocking everything, there really isn't much more to do so end game (endless mode) is just repeating the same runs over and over trying for a better score. The game loop is addictive by trying to unlock the encounters and defeating hard enemies. The combat while simple is quite fun. The progression is well done and you actually get some feel of accomplishment. The only let down here is the randomness of the game can really affect gameplay.
You will quickly find the "cheat" to get better outcomes as you don't want to ruin a run or you just want to move forward easier.
The graphics are well done for the age of the game. The music fits well. The voice acting is okay but tends to grate a bit after listening to the dealer harp on repeatedly. The initial dealing either could be faster or skipped. It just wastes time. The deck building aspect is fairly limited but very easy to understand. I did research various encounters online as different outcomes/path can radically change a run. I did get the DLC only as it was very cheap but I felt it didn't really appeal much to me as it didn't add enough to the game to hold my interest. Get it on sale or part of a bundle. It is a nice change of pace from your standard deck builder.
If you’re looking for a roguelike that actually feels different, Hand of Fate is something special. From the very first encounter, the game’s concept hooks you. A deck-building adventure where every card you flip shapes the journey ahead, encounters, gear, enemies, even the layout of your path, it creates a gameplay loop that’s both strategic and intensely personal. You’re not just grinding runs; you’re building them. Every success or failure feels like the result of the deck you constructed and the risks you chose to take. What truly elevates the experience, though, is the atmosphere. Sitting across the table from the Dealer gives the entire game a theatrical, almost intimate tension. And Antony Skordi’s performance as the Dealer is phenomenal. His voice work adds weight, menace, and personality to every line, transforming what could have been a simple framing device into one of the most memorable presences in any roguelike. He doesn’t just narrate your journey, he judges it. Combat carries a satisfying Arkham-style rhythm, while the card mechanics constantly reshape the adventure layer. It’s a clever fusion that somehow works beautifully. Few roguelikes manage to blend mechanics and storytelling this seamlessly. To this day, it remains one of the most unique roguelikes I’ve played.
