At last, there is another game like DRG Survivor which packs the maps full of objectives, chests, shrines and different quests, so you have cool things to do instead of just mindlessly killing enemies. The game looks and sounds great, I haven't played any of the previous Hand of Fate games, but I really like the overall style of this one. I don't have any real complaints because everything works and the game runs flawlessly, but I would like to see keyboard navigation added for dialogue options and card selection, so you don't have to reach for your mouse every time a dialogue prompt or card reward appears. Other than that, the game is a must-play because it's one of the best games in the genre.
Hooked. Loved Hand of Fate 1/2 and loving Hordes

I'm big fan of vampirelike games and of Hand of Fate games and I like this game a lot. Its not best vampirelike game and its not best Hand of Fate game but i have a blast playing it. It's pretty chill and easy at the start, probably boring easy, but it will have some challenges in later missions. Pros: - Easy game mechanics, no complex synergies. - Game in early access, so there will be more content in future, but it still have content for 50 hours of play, to unlock all new cards. - 4 different characters with own passives and starting abilities. Some characters have special dialog options. - Sexy voice gamemaster. Cons: - Not good enough visuals, but Hand of Fate games not about this anyway. - Characters not balanced enough. Some heroes fell so overpowered, you don't want to touch others. - Game in early access, so it have some bugs and not so much content to spend 200 hours on in how you do it in Hand of Fate games. If you always want to play Hand of Fate games, but dont like original action mechanics, this game for you. If you are experienced games with a lot of other games to play, maybe the better choice to wait for the full release.
Absolutely not what the type of game I would have expected from the series, but it works so well! The core questing and chance mini games, as well as the undeniable vibe, mixed with a unique survivor approach. It reminds me a little of Jotunnslayer, with the map objectives and then a big boss to finish. I love it and bough the supporter pack. Perhaps some form of Endless Mode could be added, like how Jotunnslayer implements theirs?
Too stop and start for me. Doesn't feel like you gain momentum or settle into a rhythm.

An excellent return to the Hand of Fate universe and a lovely evolution of the Bullet Heaven genre. Please buy this game. It's the only way we're getting hand of fate 3. I beg you. I need this.
Unfortunately, it's no for me. I loved the narrative aspect of HoF and HoF:2, far less the combat aspect of those games. I was *very* interested in the new take for this new game. Here, I quite like the gameplay, but unfortunately I don't feel the constant interruptions to continue the HoF narration during the main game are a positive thing here: survivor games are all about in-the-moment adrenaline, not RPG-like narration. On the other hand, the out-of-combat part of this game is very empty: select the hero, select adventure, select +x%-style metaprogression. It feels like a wasted opportunity. I will keep an eye on this, I hope the direction of the game can still change during Early Access.
Giving an early review to help the game's momentum, since it's one of the most innovative survivor games I've seen and I love what they're doing with the genre. First impressions: It's more "Hand of Fate" than survivors games, in terms of pacing/gameplay (and also being less of a podcast-suited game at half attention, because there's more narration, strategic decisions and unlocks). Those games were amazing and loved so that's not a bad thing, but know that you're picking a new Hand of Fate game with "survivors" as the combat and growth mechanic. It does seem a bit flawed and incomplete in early access. The starting character felt not very impactful in both his default weapon and ability, but the second character is turning out more interesting. Setting up your event deck is also not in the game yet. Pacing also feels a bit weird because you get many short survivor bursts where you sort of feel you'd want longer time, yet they need to get the overall adventure pacing right too. These are not easy design challenges but I'm confident they'll iterate and improve as the game grows. I'm torn between continuing now or waiting for when it's further in development, but it's already clear that there's a lot of great stuff going on here and that this is one of the most interesting and innovative takes on both survivor and Hand of Fate games we've ever seen, with some good developers behind it. Update: 5 hours further in and it's already pretty addictive. Some of what felt like issues gets better as you get further in (or get better at the game), other things are still flaw. Overall the game is already good and exciting but I'm still looking forward to seeing their improvements.
A refreshing addition to the Survivors genre, and with a delightful HoF twist ! Plays great on handhelds.
