Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I really enjoy this style of game and story-telling. But I landed a 1 in 4 chance of failure 9 times in a row, the first one being the actual tutorial choice. I'm supremely unlucky and it soured my desire to play. For those that are not, I recommend.

Great game!
하늘이 진정 나를 버리는구나 (3 / 5)
So much fun, especially on the steam deck.
Disclaimer: This recommendation is not in relation to Hand of Fate 1, but is in spite of it. I think Hand of Fate 1, apart from its final boss fight, is practically a perfect game. This sequel is only half as good, so even if it's good and worth recommending and worth playing, it still is difficult to recommend as I consider how inferior this edition of the game is to its predecessor. Hand of Fate 2 builds from where Hand of Fate 1 left off, having great stories, beautiful art, and really cool gameplay style. All of that would earn it points, except for the fact that it isn't really innovation off Hand of Fate 1. Where it *actually* earns points, and the entire reason I'm recommending it, is because -- despite a large drop in quality and polish and balance -- the quantity of content is hugely increased. Instead of four main campaigns following the nobility in a deck of cards (HoF1), there is one overarching campaign dedicated to overthrowing an Emperor that works through roughly the same number of encounters but with a variety of nobility in each encounter. Coupled alongside that story are four companions you can take with you that function as summoned aids in combat -- think like an NPC backup -- as well as providing you a boon to encounters such as letting you duplicate a chance card. Each of these companions have their own encounter cards locked to their companion tagging alongside you for an adventure, and these encounters play through their stories. All that is awesome, and it seems there are also DLCs for this game, which expand the content even further. Now for a direct comparison of the quality of these encounters: Combats - Much less balanced and much more annoying. The enemies attack roughly the same way -- except now there are snares that immobilize you for a period of time, and a fair few enemies that teleport on you and have other evasive maneuvers to make them more difficult to hit, not more difficult to survive. So the added elements, in my opinion, are less challenging elements to vary the combats or increase the difficulty and more are just annoyances to slog through as quick as you can manage. The main character no longer has a specific counter keybind, instead having a "riposte" mechanic, which I don't mind, except that often the timing and animations of these motions are either too precise to effectively perform when crowded or leave you entirely vulnerable to an enemy attack despite doing everything correctly. There's a shield mechanic for some enemies, one of which can still attack you while you are locked into an animation that's twice as long as a normal attack that you cannot cancel out of after initializing it, and can do so without warning you before you begin your animation -- meaning it's effectively guaranteed a free hit on you if it chooses to. Resources - About the same, if you ignore the incredible food scarcity. I know food is always a concern, and was certainly a chief factor in many of my deaths in Hand of Fate 1 -- learning to manage food is a huge skill you have to learn to survive the game. However, I feel that Hand of Fate 2 is even more high in demand for food, with some adventures literally being designed around having enough food as a primary mechanic. In contrast to this huge demand for food, there are incredibly few encounters that give you food, which are the only factors you can change in your adventures -- the gain cards deck has almost no food in it, and appears to have even less food gain on the adventures that need it. That would make sense, except for the fact that over half your encounters fail to net you any food and the ones that do only net you a pittance of 3-5 food, and those being a good 7-10 encounters apart. Not starving in this game is frequently several times more difficult than the boss fights are, which is ludicrous. Ultimately, I feel like -- though I might be wildly off the mark due to only arriving at these games well after their releases -- after the success of Hand of Fate 1, they churned out more content with the same style, not truly trying to figure out what made Hand of Fate 1 so great at every level, and instead just keeping the elements that are foundational to the game. That's not a crime, nor is it terribly unenjoyable -- I still would heartily recommend this game, as well. However, if asked whether this game is even half as good as the first, I'd probably agree that is is just half as good.
I really wanted to like this game, the first couple of hours are engaging and fun; but as you progress, the game gets bloated and starts to get really tedious to play: combat is the weakest part of the game that really hinders the whole experience, the enemies are really forgiving so after a while you just spam attack to end the combat as quickly as possible, and don't forget to turn vsync on if you don't want enemies to completely break, stop attacking and run to the edge of the arena making combat even less fun. Talking about deckbuilding, making your own deck at the beginning of the run becomes another chore to deal with after a while, you have too many cards to choose from and you're gonna tend to only pick the ones which are going to make your run less frustating, there's not a search function so enjoy scrolling through a deck of 20+ cards that gets bigger the more runs you complete. there also other issues, specifically in regards to difficulty, but these are my main sticking points; there are far better roguelike deckbuilders available.
