Half-Life is such an iconic game filled to the brim with memorable encounters, enthralling world building, and an impressively realized world for a game nearing 30. Xen is an absolute trainwreck and destroys any goodwill the first 70% of this game establishes. I used to think it was just a gameplay shift thing people weren't ready for. Or some kind of difficulty spike. Or some kind of half-baked unfinished levels that lacked the creativity of the rest of the game. I just didn't think it would be all of them at once. I played this game entirely blind, up until Xen where I had to stop every 5 minutes to look up how to get out of a room, how to evade an enemy, HOW TO LAND WITHOUT TAKING FALL DAMAGE. Half-Life is a classic and definitely worth playing, but Xen is going to keep me far away from ever replaying this. It's that bad.

great game by a great company

Какой бы значимой эта часть не была, мне она совсем не понравилась. Просто скучное рубилово с маленькой щепоткой сюжета, через некоторое время становится просто скучно и душно. Остальную половину игры проходил с годмодом и ноуклипом, так как неинтересно

This is the timeless classic Half-Life provided by Valve. Considering it's nearly 30 years since its release I'm pleased to say that it will run on just about any system. i did notice that it's vanilla version is slightly more buggy compared to the Half-Life Legacy mod (which is free) despite the HL25 update. Valve made a few improvements to the original in 2023 including Steam Deck support as well as modern tweaks to the game. I'm very pleased Valve keeps Half-Life current as I was only 10 when the original released and didn't have a gaming computer at the time. If you like vanilla Half-Life this version is for you otherwise go check out the legacy mod or Black Mesa.

ive played 26 mins of this game and can really see how good it is so i would recommend it.
