Gutes Remake
One of the best games I ever played, even better then the original. Can't wait for the Gothic 2 Remake!
Wie früher und trotzdem modern genug.
endlich ein spiel bei dem man sein gottgegebenes hirn benutzen muss!
It's a great update to a classic. It's still a bit rough around the edges but the Gothic feel is there. I don't recommend playing a mage and the game gets less good towards the end. I can't wait for a new Gothic 2 though. That's going to be a gem.
Als fantastisches Remake jetzt fehlt noch teil zwei dann bin ich wunschlos Glücklich
I am an old fan of the Gothic series, and I wasn't waiting for this game that much. I thought about what the developers could do to revitalize the story. I thought it would never match the feelings from childhood, and most likely it would be just a remaster that would make the game worse. So I was sceptical and wasn't really looking forward to playing it, but in the end I couldn't resist trying it. And, wow, they made it. Of course, it was not the same feeling as in childhood, but the game touched it; I felt it just a bit. And it was more than enough. Non-stop, I was playing from the very beginning until the very end of the story. And in the end, I felt that it was made by people who love the story and characters; they cared. The details of the story and the world itself have been expanded in breadth and even slightly in depth, making it a bit of a fresh and new experience, which is very nice. I personally would like to have a bigger depth of worldbuilding; it could be done to enrich the world with meaning. To add much more diversity in NPC behavior from chapter to chapter, for example: the Swamp Camp changed only once partially after the ceremony, and then it wasn't changing during the entire remaining story (for several chapters); it just stopped its storytelling development, and people were not reacting to the events in the world. It was said that the majority left the camp, but it didn't look like that. The disaster that overwhelmed society didn't feel like a disaster: still the same chores, still the same topics. Life was frozen. And it can relate to any other NPC aspect in the game. It would be nice to make this world even more alive. The developers significantly enriched interactions between friends, but at some moments I felt a void in the interactions; they were just standing there telling you that they were busy (it can be improved). This deepening is what I would like to see in the Remake. They didn't ♥♥♥♥ up the fighting mechanic — that is my strong opinion, and I was afraid they would. Though, I found the magic bugs sometimes very annoying, especially when you land on some pixel of a texture instead of an enemy. I was playing with the Russian localization after finding out who the actors would be. Zero regrets, stellar job, buuuut I liked the original more. I feel like the guys overdid the polishing of the intonations and sounds. A lot of characters sound the same; there was no personality in many of them. The phrases were much less emotional, and you just forget them, whereas in the original Gothic I and II there ARE personalities; I still remember their voices. But it is my personal opinion for those who care about such things. But, in general, the game was made with respect, it was enriched with content and graphics. The developers kept the spirit (and I believe it was the hardest part, which they aced). Thank you. I strongly recommend it to everyone. Special thanks for the Archolos reference (but again, it would be nice if you developed it further, though maybe there was no time).
