The Kingdom of Myrtana has been invaded by a relentless horde of orcs. Desperate for powerful weapons to repel them, King Rhobar II orders the mining of vast quantities of magical ore, setting every available prisoner to work in the Khorinis mines. To ensure no one escapes, the King commands his most skilled mages to erect a magical barrier. But something goes terribly wrong, and the magic spirals out of control, trapping everyone inside. The prisoners rebel, transforming the mine into a lawless territory ruled by the Colony’s most brutal inmates.
Now, the King must negotiate with these new rulers, as tensions rise among the mine's factions. Amidst the chaos, the arrival of an unknown prisoner will change everything …

An amazing game.
Loving the game so far, really great RPG systems for skills, interesting world building. Only thing letting it down is the frequent crashes, makes no sense on my system! If I forget to save I've lost hours to it. So currently hard to recommend.

I finished the game on Gothic difficulty as a necromancer, just like I did when I first played it sometime in the early 2000s, and it was absolutely fantastic. Screw the bugs—they will fix them over time ( or is this part of the meatbug conspiracy?) . I cannot wait to see what the modding community creates, because this game is already awesome but still has so much potential to become even bigger, deeper, and more epic, which is honestly crazy. I have absolutely no idea how anyone beats this game on permadeath, but I am definitely going to try.
decent remake. still needs more bug fixes and adjustments to some quests/NPC behaviour
i know people are gonna think im stupid for this, but the game has no drive at the start for me to continue playing, no sense of exploring because everything one taps you people, bugs, animals. yeah the game is supposed to be hard but why should i care to play it, nothing is attaching me to this universe, story and main character its just monotone. The excuse for a game to only be good after an hour or more of playing it is stupid.
Игра очень сильно затягивает. Буду ждать ремейк второй части.
ждем ремейк второй части серии
За Гамаза! Да пробудится cpyщий!
Gothic 2 Remake is an absolute no-brainer. Just please make it to Gothic 3: The Actually Finished Game! First game where save/load feels like a core feature, haha. I wish they’d touched up the late-game pacing and quest design, but keeping it faithful was probably the safer bet with purists. Regardless, this is hands down the definitive way to play Gothic today. Finally get what "trying to make Gothic again" actually meant (looking at you, Risen). To the art team: you are absolute gods—my screenshot folder is bursting!
Zdarzył mi się jeden bug, który psuł mi grę i musiałem go obchodzić, by móc wrócić do komfortowego podejścia.
