Reviews
has actually decent storytelling but has somewhat slow start to set up rest of the game 5/10
Очень хорошая визуальная новелла на 1.5-2 часа, но очень-очень грустная. Игра сделана максимально качественно, хорошо подобрана музыка и ассеты. Требует знания английского на базовом уровне.
The store page summary is an excellent characterization of this game: "A short story-driven experience about love, loss, and the choices we make." Most of the game consists of dialogue, with brief bits of exploration. The story is emotional and very well told. While the graphics are typical of RPGMaker, the music is an appropriate selection that sets the mood perfectly.

Nice game for a fair price.
RPGMaker is responsible for allowing many Starbucks employees to pretend they're game developers by allowing them to stamp out cookie cutter JRPGs with no real artistic or gameplay merits whatsoever. Imagine finding the least viable, least capable individual on the planet to ever be entrusted with the responsibility of developing entertainment products, then empowering them to produce what might be the most extremely mediocre games ever made. That high powered mediocrity is exactly what happened here. Take a high selling retro JRPG like Final Fantasy, rip out the gameplay, story, characterisation, drama, interesting combat and career progression choices, and you get Gone Fireflies. A crappy, angsty "I'm 14 and this is deep" fanfic accompanied with sloppy, lazy, ugly retro 2D graphics and a game engine that was obsoleted in the early 1990s. Coupled with fixed resolution and no working fullscreen, because the "developer" wanted to make sure they failed on the technical implementation as well as story, art, gameplay etc. I don't blame the Starbucks employee here. RPGMaker and Valve are responsible for facilitating this attack on the quality of video games. Without them, the production of terrible coffee would have proceeded unhindered by delusions of competency.
Дуже коротенька візуальна новела на рушії RPG Maker. Непоганий сюжет як для 40-хвилинного детективного. оповідання. Потребує базового знання англійської мови. На сльози пробити намагається, витраченого часу вартує.
RPG-makerMV game with, in the beginning a bit boring and sometimes distracting, but at the end absolutely coherent story line. The story is told from the perspective of all five main characters, and evolves relatively slow. Still a good RPG-maker game. Playtime to 100% it, two hours.
Beautiful game, heart crushing story. T_T <3
A bittersweet strong story driven rpg maker game. This game shines in it's touching story and it's beautifully designed areas. The game is text heavy, but, the text is broken up by walking and exploration. Pros +Beautifully designed maps especially for rpg maker standards +Excellent and touching storyline. +Hauntingly beautiful soundtrack +Multiple choices to affect dialogue +Multiple endings +Controller Support +Attentive Developer Cons - Some delay on text slowing progress a bit but not as bad as it was since launch. This is a strong narrative experience only faltered by it's sometimes a bit too slow pacing. It will take you about an hour and a half to play through once. I'll definitely be playing through this one again. Would recommend for a game that better defines how rpg maker games can be explored and created.
This short game packs a heavy yet beautiful story. I only played through it once, so I am not sure if other endings would have a better outcome. I enjoyed it though! I absolutely loved the music too. The end screen track 'What Could Have Been' is absolutely beautiful and it will stick with me for a long time.
