Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I enjoyed this game a lot. There's a really nice flow to how everything works on the tactical level. The game looks great but honestly that ends the parts of the game I actually like. The story is a real snoozer, I have played every other Gears of War game and I've even read all the books but the story here is clearly not the main focus. I've forgotten pretty much every character in the game. My main actual problem with the game is the complete lack of any strategy layer to the game. One of the most engaging aspects of any game like this is the strategy of building a base or something like that and all that there is just picking a mission, of which there's only like four types, and that's it. I do like the game I just wish there was some more depth. Still feels pretty good to just spam grenades though can't even lie.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

a perfect asset flip. It's turn-based gears of war. it looks like GoW. It sounds like GoW. It has all the troupe, camp, machismo, and over-the-top gore you'd expect from GoW. Done very well. The story is simple. there are 8-10 main missions spread across 8 chapters, and between each main story mission you select 2-3 side missions from a selection screen. Each side mission is done in tandom for that chapter, meaning that you can't send the same team out for two mission on the same chapter. Some side missions are aquiring gear, some are acquiring personel, and some are culling the locast's assets. As you build your camp with more recruits, you arm them with better gear you find out on missions. You earn XP for each soldier that atrribute to 5 main classes that are defined by weapons type: Support: Chainsaw Rifle Vanguard: Bayonet Rifle Scout: Shotgun Heavy: Chaingun AR Sniper: Long bolt action Rifle Each main class has 4 sub-classes that branch out in a skill tree. You can make your soldiers specialize in a specific subclass or be a jack of all trades, but master of none. It isn't a new paradigm. It isn't ground breaking. But it is a decent trun based tactical shooter in the GoW universe. Buy it on sale you won't be disappointed.
Do you want more games like XCOM (Remake)? Then this is one of those games (with some caveats). Story: If you're interested in Gears of War lore, this game is chronologically the earliest title (barring some sections in other games) in the series, until Gears E-Day comes out that is. It follows a group that ends up fighting a high-ranking Locust, along the way you can recruit new units as you navigate different mission types until you reach the end of the campaign. Length can vary somewhat, but on normal difficulty I would say it took around 25 hours to complete, and as you read on you'll see why that might be a good estimate as well. Structure: Unlike something like XCOM, there only really 1 layer to the gameplay, which is combat scenarios. There is no base management, and the game is fairly linear in the mission structure - game gives you campaign missions, every now and again distracts you by asking you to complete 2/3 side-missions to unlock the next story mission until you reach the end. Gameplay: It does a very good job of following in-line with the XCOM: Enemy Unknown did in 2012, where units have a set amount of actions per turn, there are abilities/skills that are unique to classes (and relevant specializations within those classes) and there is also equipment that will grant modifications including new perks, stat modifiers and so forth. My main gripe is that the equipment procurement can make the pre-mission preparation a bit of a longer task, especially if you've got some OCD habits or want to ensure a very specific build depending on mission type. All that being said, it is a fun time, even if you're not a fan of the franchise in question, where you can plan out an order of events which can have drastically different results, as such the choices, and the sequence they are undertaken in matters. I played on normal difficulty, which seemed quite manageable (though in fairness I am a fan of games like XCOM and XCOM 2 already) and it seemed recurits being at risk of dying was quite low, if you are up for a challenge you can crank up the difficulty as the game, and while it doesn't allow save-scumming does allow you to restart missions - either from checkpoints depending on mission progression, or from the very beginning if you feel you want to take another crack at things. I managed to run this game pretty smoothly with my specs at 1440p 144fps (though in fairness it's quite decent for the time the game released).
buen juego es desafiante en algunos niveles, aporta mas lore al universo de Gears

A bi tough in the beginning to get the feeling. but once the graphics were set to ULTRA, it become good graphics and then the gameplay hit me. Now I want to finish it.
buen juego, si te gustan los XCOM este te gustará. sin embargo, le hace falta mas variedad de enemigos, armas y diversidad en las misiones. pero cumple con entretener bastante
Jogo muito bom, e com um nivel de dificuldade excelente.
Hangs on enemy turn every time. Update - this had happened only in one mission, and after 10+ restarts, I managed to pass it. Changing to a positive score. This is not a deep game, story is short and is filled with routine repeating missions to make the game longer. However, combat mechanics are not bad, and if you like tactics, think about buying it when there is a discount on it.
Great game, I wish they would make Gears Tactics 2.
