Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 28 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I think it's a nice game. There are some tweaks here and there, but hopefully in time it'll come. Mostly it's a balancing issue - It feels like some of the characters are VASTLY more powerful than other characters, regardless of their difficulty. I get that some completionists may find joy in beating the game with every character, but if you're not one of them it just seems like a bad choice to play any other character than the first character. Giving the player the option to play melee as the second choice is so demotivating when he's so much weaker, and honestly feels quite clunky in the way that he hits. 2nd, and the reason I came here to review.... Don't make a fatality boss move super confusing. When Chaos does his 2nd phase laser attack, the indicators are completely nonsensical, and the visuals are even more confusing. Individual lasers in a circle contracting, then extending, but their entrypoint is from above and down and all of it happens in a blink of an eye and kills you regardless of your hp? Like... Why? You just spent an hour getting to that point to get offed like that when there's literally no chance that you'll survive the first 2-3 encounters with that specific move. It's such a bad developer decision to punish a player for even TRYING to beat the final boss.

Wasted Potential.. Gatekeeper has a strong foundation. The core loop is fun, the combat can feel great, and co-op boss fights are genuinely enjoyable. That is exactly why it is so disappointing to see the game left in this state. My biggest issue is the co-op flow. Outside of boss fights, the game too often turns into a solo scavenger hunt. Players split up for objectives, then split up again for leftover enemies, artifact collection, shopping, and moving toward the next area. Instead of feeling like a team-based co-op experience, a lot of the downtime becomes individual cleanup and backtracking. After a boss dies, the game really should have done more to keep the pacing tight: clearing remaining minor enemies, pausing scaling immediately, making artifacts or shrines easier to reach, or opening shortcuts toward the exit. These changes would have made the game feel much smoother and more cooperative instead of dragging the run out with chores. The map design also often feels too cluttered and restrictive. There are too many barriers, awkward walls, and momentum blockers, especially for characters without teleport or blink abilities. Wider lanes, better vertical routes, post-boss shortcuts, or even a simple vault/hop over obstacles would have helped the traversal feel much better for every character, not just the mobile ones. What disappoints me the most, however, is that the game seemingly will not be meaningfully updated anymore and will remain with these issues. There were clear opportunities to improve co-op pacing, traversal, long-term replayability, and overall flow. The lack of native mod support makes this even worse. A game like this could have lived much longer through community content, balance tweaks, custom maps, new characters, or quality-of-life mods. Without continued development and without proper mod support, the game feels like it has been left with untapped potential. In the end, Gatekeeper is a game with a good core idea, but not enough polish, not enough long-term support, and not enough community tools to keep it alive. Not recommended, especially if you were hoping for lasting co-op replayability, meaningful updates, or modding support.
After playing the game, then reading the reviews, I feel as if the people who played it are being hard on the developers for NO reason! This game is so fun, feels like a top down risk of rain 2. I have enjoyed every second of it so far, those who are hating just are hating to hate. Very good and fun game especially if you're bored and want something to do that isn't a sweaty FPS
재밌는데 멀티에 사람이 없누 ㅠㅠ
I hate this game. It feels like someone watched a good game and then tried to copy it but did everything wrong. Difficulty is too high, abilities mean nothing, everything is poorly explained, all characters feel sluggish, the single dash your character gets is on like a 15sec cooldown. I genuinely hate this game with a fiery passion. And I got it in a bundle for a game I wanted, so I don't even feel like I paid money for it and I'm still mad.
An okay top-down clone of Risk of Rain games. It's polished but replayability is abysmal. Two main advantages of this game:

Your chosen class never becomes irrelevant. In RoR2 the further you go in the more your upgrades take over both damage and AoE.
More diverse objectives (not by much), so you're not JUST collecting upgrades and moving towards the boss.
Two massive disadvantages compared to Risk of Rain:

Bland characters. No 2 characters in RoR2 play the same. Most characters here are generic ranger/melee types.
Lack of synergies. Relics in RoR2 can activate each other. This game has none of that (or if it does it's locked behind more progression than I am willing to slog through). All the damage relics are either stats buffs or "On SKILL hit" (excludes relic effect hit).
MY EYES IS BLEEDING.
This game probably isn't for me I guess but I don't understand how this is supposed to be fun. I selected "tutorial" at the start screen but apparently that only triggers a control screen to pop-up on start. There's no tutorial. When over half of players have unlocked the "died in the first area" achievement, maybe a bit more could have been done to enhance understanding and smooth out the pace of the game. As is, it's just discouraging and very unappealing. Ten minutes and I'm done. Uninstalling.
Играл в infinity была имбой уже в то время сейчас игра намного лучше
A much less interesting Risk of Rain game. If you've played or owned Risk of Rain 1 or 2, this is the top down version without the enemy variety and addictive gameplay. There isn't anything here that makes this any different other than the top down view. It's hard to explain, but it doesn't feel satisfying like other continuous rougelikes.
