Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 8 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; Xbox, Epic publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.
Updates
Build ids and update times come straight from Steam's PICS — the same source SteamDB reads. Patch history grows as we record new builds.

Reviews
If you enjoyed GC2 then you'll love GC3. Great 4x game with wonderful ship creation tools. A number of DLCs expand the universe and make the game all the better. Enjoy!
It's a good game. You need to get Crusade and Retribution for the full range of playability, I've put in most of my time after those expansions, but Gal Civ III will keep you coming back again and again. A good addition to the turn-base strategy collection.

I'm not going to say this is a bad game, or give it a negative, but I could. Especially since I recoil at the thought of it and fire up GC 2 instead. Dishonest hyperbolic reviews like PC gamer (or something) "This sets the new standard in 4x." LOL. Reviews are meaningless. The big magazines have a box I guess with fortune cookie slips they pull out for reviews. ("It says 'sets a new standard' the last one said 'a refreshing take on the genre') The building mechanics are a mess, unnecessarily convoluted and unclear (So do I need a starport, or a space elevator, or both, but wait, the space station is where ships are built? Do factories help the planet, or the space station, or both? WTF?). Empire management is a convoluted mess. The map is the worst, in comparison to GC2, just too busy to even look at. Planetside and space.

Single player campaign is a joke
Man I really slept on this game. I've had it for so long but only played it once. Originally I didn't care for the art style, especially the cute comic relief races, but after picking it up again and taking a swing at the game I've fallen in love. The game has a lot of charm and humorous texts, but what I really enjoy is the planetary management and exploration. The diplomacy also seems to be enjoyable, though I haven't played it long enough to figure out how to cheese the AI races (if you can that is). Overall, I'm enjoying my time with it.
Crash crash crash crash crash. My friend and I kept crashing. My hardware is rather new, and his is from the time period of this game's release. The game is clearly designed to crash. C'mon Stardock.
I enjoyed it when it first came out. But the past few years haven't been able to play for an hour or more. Just find it boring.
I bought the game to play with my Husband. We played to about turn 100 or so and the game crashes now after 1-2 turns no matter what you do. Steam wont refund the game, completely useless bloat in my steam library now.
