Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 8 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

awesome worth the time and money!
Much fun, but many game-play/balance issues remain years later. Non-existent multiplayer. Rather play the decades old MOO2.
LOVE THIS FRANCISE. I HAVE PLAYED EVERYONE OF THEM. JUST GOT A LAPTOP AFTER A LONG STINT IN THE POOR HOUSE AND THIS IS THE FIRST GAME I GOT BACK INTO.
Just another stupid game. It has a tutorial, but it never tells you what to do, only what you need to achieve. No point, if you don't tell HOW!!!
I have played all the Galactic civs and I prefer 2 over 3. I feel like when they moved to 3 they made some things better and others worse. With this one to me they made the tech tree awful compared to 2 along with planet management. In 2 both of these just seems so much more stream lined and with this one it just seems a bit more clunky. I do like how they made trading work in this game, with regards to the bar we get on knowing when a trade will be accepted or not.
I've graduated from G.C. 1 to 2 and now 3. I still haven't checked out G.C. 4 although I've purchased it. I like G.C. 3 but will share some cons as well as pros. If you like strategy, turn-based games that you can work on gradually over days, then the Galactic Civilizations series could be your thing. You start as one of a number of races exploring the galaxy-you can choose from many races each with their own strengths and weaknesses, or create a customized race. You can also modify your starting race with points that can be distributed as you like among many possible attributes. From there it's the usual mixture of exploration, colonization, development, trade, espionage, military might, alliances, etc. The graphics of course are much improved over G.C.2 which was better than G.C.1. A couple of areas in which Sid Meyer's Civilization Series does better: I wish G.C. had something like the "advisor board" or sole advisor who might suggest to you the best next development to put on a colony, or what you might best focus on in the extensive research tree. I also wish I could find a manual. I played through the tutorial but there was a lot of information not covered there (and it took some hours to get through also). In short, it takes really playing through at least one game just to learn what's possible and perhaps some mistakes to avoid. I've found it fairly addicting and as someone who has played quite a bit in the Civilization series, it's fun to take this game style into space in a sci-fi sort of setting. This is also not one of those games which try to get you to endlessly buy in-game upgrades - there are a limited number of expansion sets and free player-created content though for more variety.
Buy everything all at once. Steam no longer discounts what you already have and you will be forced to buy all dlc one at a time. At least that's what they told me and I can only purchase as a gift
its a pretty fun way to kill time.
