Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 8 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

When this game first came out, it was barren, dry, and shallow. I personally waited 5 to 7 years before really getting into it. After getting all of the DLC and installing a few mods, I can say this is one of the best 4x Space Strategy games ever made, but it was a long road getting here. The game has plenty of depth now with the Intrigue, Crusade, and Retribution DLCs installed. The campaigns are mediocre - the sandbox mode is where the game truly shines. And this is important: the game starts up quickly, loads games quickly and smoothly, has never crashed a single time, and runs like silk even into the late game, unlike Stellaris and many other 4x Space Strategy games which take forever to load, crash often in the late game, and slow down to a crawl even on a high-end PC. Galactic Civilizations had its flaws, but for those who enjoy a smooth and clean experience it has become the standard.

If your ship explores the map, when you go view the path it took, there are massive patches of non explored lands, sometimes explored but without the planet you know is there. When your territory expands it's domain, visibility doesn't always increase.. and it's been this way forever, yet they keep finding ways to charge more and more money, DLC's constantly, but never fixing the simplest of bugs. The original game, you could make super weird ships, with no engines bug massive sensors, that would see so so much of the map, but now the ships seem very limited and force specific ways to play. This game used to be awesome.
Does not feel like a 40 dollars game and with all these dlcs feels like EA.
Simply one of the best 4x games out there. Great depth and a lot of variety especially if you get the game with all its dlcs. The only drawback is the battles. If only the game had turn base battles in the style of master of orion 2 it would be perfect, but I guess one cannot have everything.
CRASHES always later in game, like memory issues that have never been fully fixed, no matter how they've seemingly tried. Bought this to play multiplayer with my best bud, and have never been able to complete a game. We both have super computers with huge RAM. Been trying this game for years, as the devs have been working to fix these issues, we've been waiting and trying it again and again. This last game just won't load anymore, so we are finally, finally, just saying quit and uninstalling the game. Too bad, as when it works, it's a great game. But the devs have never gotten this memory management problem under control. Bye bye!
No control button explanation, many planet micro-managment has been removed ,many ship designer UI has been removed, many setting has been removed.

Game is only good when using mods to add races from Star Wars and Star Trek. Devs are the most stupid, when asked who was the bright idea to make sound in space when, no atmosphere = no sound, and they answer "go away little man". Not worth to give money to a company that talks like this to their customers. Why Is There No Sound in Space? https://youtu.be/xqXKgfah8OI
