We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews
As a connoisseur of bad games, I was heavily disappointed...because this game was not bad. While the story isn't a masterpiece, it isn't garbage either. The gameplay and movement is really solid, and overall it's an enjoyable 20 hour experience for just the main story. There's plenty to do after finishing the story though, there's side quests, open world exploration, and so much dialogue to go through. You can easily spend 100 hours on this game if you wanted to. I will say, $89.99 CAD is too much for a game that is essentially a really well polished Double A game. Get it on sale and it's worth every penny.
I give up. All the other reviews were right. This game is terrible. + Graphics Good Absolutely everything about this game other than that ranges from mid to bad. The worst though is hearing the same voice clip over and over and over again.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This was a dark period in gaming history. What even was this-
I recommend this game with certain criteria; You understand the game is mediocre You want to understand game design and game philosophy The game in general shipped with one of the worst stories in AAA gaming possible, it's not only generic it's badly generic. There is no subtlety in the story, and the gameplay is just as bad. I am halfway through the game on hard mode currently and will continue to play, but I will not be doing everything, it simply isn't worth it. The main keypoints that are worth it however are the fact that it presents a lot of what "not to do" with game design inside of a AAA framework. The game is offensively bad on multiple fronts beyond the story. The gameplay is attempting to replicate the Ubisoft formula of open-world games with a unique twist of elemental magic. While you would think that this sounds like a good recipe for a game the game it simply doesn't live up to the execution. There are 2 major problems with the game overall. Firstly, the amount of time between acquiring your first and 2nd set of magic skills is horribly long and makes you want to pull your hair out. For the first 6 hours I spent in the game with a meager slot of 3 different "shoot rock" spells that were all fairly similar. After acquiring the fire upgrade the fighting tends to open up with a lot more options than generic dodge and shoot game, but the core gameplay is simply that no matter which magic set you have equipped. Dodge, shoot, rinse, repeat. Secondly, there is too much to do and not enough to see. Around every corner is some new worthless minor upgrade to acquire and it generally involves fighting more enemies or doing the same simple slide puzzles over and over and over and over and over. There is necklaces, pets, capes, movement upgrades, health upgrades, strength upgrades, fast travel points, sight towers akin to Assassin's Creed, dungeons, wellsprings, pictures, recipes, and just slop on top of slop to acquire none of which feels like it adds anything major to the moment to moment gameplay or even feels worth it to chase down. In other comparable games like Assassin's Creed 3 or Zelda: TotK there is constantly something unique and interesting interspersed between the upgrades or obtainable items. None of the architecture or landscape feels interesting or unique or worth attempting to climb in any major way as the entire game is nearly a rolling vista of either brown or green hillsides. If there were interesting landmarks beyond the slop trough of upgrades the game would feel less mediocre. If the game gave you a larger variety of magic earlier than it does it would feel less mediocre. If the game made the rewards you established worth chasing it would feel less mediocre. If the game had a story that didn't constantly beat you upside the head with such a simple outsider narrative it would feel less mediocre. Don't misunderstand me, the game as a whole is not the worst game I have ever played, and I would recommend it to people solely based on people coming away with their own understanding of the games major flaws and how even a large budget and super interesting concept cannot save a game from drowning in itself. It's essentially the gaming equivalent of watching Tron or Blade to understand movies better, and that is solely the reason I would recommend this game. If you aren't down for that, go play a million better things.

Thank you Square, for giving people of color around the world a hero in gaming to look up to. I am 47 years old, and grew up in a time where all games only had white or asian heroes. I gladly fully paid the full price for this game on day 1, and ignored all the racists who did everything to make the game fail. I'm just sorry your studio had to pay the price for ignorance of others. Again, thank you for this AAA open world game! EDIT: This game is far from perfect though. It has a few big glaring holes i feel compelled to disclose. The biggest annoyance is the lack of having the world map 🌏 in the lower right of the screen, as you get around. Why must I have to pause and look at a confusing layout of the word? I say confusing because believe it or not, it's really overcrowded with too much ♥♥♥♥ on it. And you can get very easily turned around and head in the wrong direction after fighting for your life.... flipping and running like crazy. You don't have time to worry about your map position when you're just trying to stay alive. In the pause screen, they made the design choice to bend the corner of the menu.. so you can't see the entire image of the page you're looking at. Sorry but it looks tacky and it's a bit annoying. Why would you do that? It's great that there's so much lore in the world of Athia. But why in the world would you not voice all of the reading you've got to do, in order to learn it all? I also think that the layout of the controller buttons are a bit off. It's not fun using R2 as the default way to execute your attacks most of the time. With all of that being said, I really do like this game. It's pretty addictive if you play all the way up to killing the first tanta. Now I can't stop thinking about playing more of the game. This really should be a Final Fantasy.

This is a quality game, don't listen to the haters.
