An epic dark fantasy where fates are decided by mighty Eikons and the Dominants who wield them. This is the tale of Clive Rosfield, a tragic warrior who swears revenge on the Dark Eikon Ifrit, a mysterious entity that leaves naught but calamity in its wake.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
About
A plethora of powerful swordplay techniques and Eikonic abilities lie within Clive's remit—and it is up to you to decide which ones you wish to learn or upgrade. If you're having trouble choosing, upgrades can be unlocked automatically.
Story-focused mode is recommended for those players who are less comfortable with action games and wish to focus more on the game's story elements. In this mode, Clive will automatically evade some attacks, and epic Eikonic combos can be triggered with simple button presses. Action-focused mode, where Clive's every action is controlled by the player, is available for those who are confident in their skill—or want to test it.
- FINAL FANTASY XVI Base Game
- “Onion Sword” weapon (Available for redemption from the System tab in the Main Menu upon reaching the main scenario quest "A Chance Encounter.")

Oh my god, not only is this the WORST Final Fantasy game ever, its likely one of the WORST games ever ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ made. Voice acting 1/10 Controls 1/10 Visuals 1/10 Story so far 1/10 It starts out with a 30 minute movie. Then you get control and are able to walk to the end of a cliff, then a damn 15 minute movie. You then get control to walk to the end of a new cliff (1 minute) then, you guess it, a damn movie. Then you're able to walk to your bedroom. Then you get to fight a Morbol (why not malboro? odd) and you hit him for like 20 seconds and... a stupid ass movie. The controls the "action" the layout, its more of a Devil May Cry Game, and those games are straight up trash. Why the hell would you make a Final Fantasy Game play like Devil May Cry. This game should have been called, "Final Fantasy May Cry: The Movie: The Game" Over all a damn 1/10 2 and a half hours into the stupid ass game and I have been able to play all of 10 minutes. Worst part, Steam has a 2 hour limit, but you cant play the game till more than 2 hours in, so I cant get a refund. Thank Square, I'm never buying a game from you again.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 21.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 25.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

TOP D+
Frankly wasn't expecting much given the muted release. After possible the most harrowing into to a game I've ever experienced, the story continues to pull at the heartstrings. It's darker than any final fantasy since probably IV. The combat is a mash of 7 remake and 15. But I prefer it to both. Plays super smooth on a 4080 with DLSS. Not yet finished it, so can't judge the ending, but so far thoroughly enjoyed this. Frankly way more than I expected.
This game is horrifically unoptimized on PC. It should genuinely be criminal to ship a product this poorly. I want to care about this game's story but it's a bit hard when the cutscenes (which are capped at 30fps, by the way) so consistently drop to single-digit FPS.
Masterpiece.
awesome game, beautiful story, and in my opinion the best combat in the series its so slick and satisfying
At one point in Final Fantasy 16, a Warrior of Light, Dragoon, Red Mage, and Black Mage form an alliance to right the wrongs of the world. The game then proceeds to deftly crush said alliance, iterating yet again that this isn't that kind of story. It's the story of a man dressed like Dracula, running around disarming the world's nukes whilst saying "♥♥♥♥" a lot. • A bold and subversive Final Fantasy that is deeply respectful of the series' legacy • Earnest to a fault, with mature characters and a nuanced worldview • No forced sentimentality or cheap melodrama • A textured world rich with history and lore • Clive Rosfield is, perhaps, the most nuanced FF protagonist ever written • Mature and likeable at the start of the game, he grows ever more so throughout • Clive's willingness to emote and express vulnerability is his greatest strength • Watching him interact with others is one of FF16's greatest pleasures • Every emotion is explored through his eyes: despair; elation; hatred; love; cynicism; hope • Crucially, FF16 uses heightened emotion sparingly, rarely resorting to sad-music moments • This lends the game a sense of genuineness, with most emotional beats properly earned • While Clive may be FF16's protagonist, Cidolfus is the embodiment of its tone and ideals • Like Cid himself, there's a sense of assuredness and self-awareness about FF16 • It knows this isn't your first rodeo; it understands age and cynicism and apathy all too well • It endeavours to keep you engaged by being an entertaining and cinematic rollercoaster • FF16 isn't afraid to shed many of the traits often associated with its contemporaries • In exchange for all it gives up, you get consistently good writing, a brisk pace, and incredible combat • FF16 is less a JRPG and more a narratively rich action-adventure game • When you expect the story and characters to zig, they'll zag intelligently instead • Instead of grinding 50 battles for EXP in each area, you'll do just 20 and actually enjoy each one • The combat system feels like a stylish-action game without the rote combo memorisation • Early on, you can switch between the playstyles of a knight, wizard, and brawler • As you unlock more Eikons, and grow more comfortable, you'll learn to mix and match your abilities • This allows for some imaginative builds with a fair bit of combat depth • Every time you think the boss fights couldn't feel more grand, they'll find a way • The familiar swell of boss music at the start of each fight never gets old • The game also contains an entire encyclopedia's worth of lore • You can read up on history, in-world politics, character connections, and more • All of this is presented through a slick in-game UI designed for an attentive, lore-obsessed player • Beyond the dedicated lore section, you'll even find tidbits of worldbuilding in item descriptions • Reading all the lore makes for a wonderful way to spend time with the game when you're feeling lazy I found Final Fantasy 16 respectful of my time, intelligence, and love for videogames as a daring and experimental artform. It's the sort of genre experiment Squaresoft would have attempted in the late '90s, at a time videogame sub-genres were still in their formative years and audiences weren't as scared of stepping out of their comfort zones. It respects the importance of legacy, but understands and advocates the need for progress.
