Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

characters are kinda buns except the goat gilgamesh
yes
Job system is the main reason to play this one, the characters/world/story feel pretty generic for the series (unless you're craving yet another Warriors of Light and crystals and void setting)

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.78/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This might be the best classic Final Fantasy game ICL
Longest installment of the OG series and i loved it also here again for every achievement and childhood memories, the track in trailer already let me shed a tear. dont forget to check out my profile to see how a true FF fan Looks!
I think people have too much nostalgia for this one. The class system at its time was probably amazing but as of 2026, its lacking heavily. You can't even use more then one ability in the class your playing as and you can only inherit one from any of the other classes you've mastered. The whole point is to be able to turn back into a freelancer where you can freely choose "two" of those abilities but even then thats pretty basic compared to FF4/FF6 where you just get the abilities outright. The story was terrible and the sprites some how were worse then ff4. I got to Ex Deaths world and didn't want to waste anymore time on it. Was worth the ten bucks for the first world atleast
an oft-overlooked classic, bursting at the seams with nostalgic SNES-era charm and providing a surprising level of depth in its combat system that puts a lot of modern RPGs to shame. sandwiched between two behemoth RPGs, FFV receives little recognition in the West for what it did in refining the JRPG job system formula. each character can take up two jobs at a time (from a total pool of 22 jobs) and transfer abilities and passive traits they learn from mastering one job to others. this freedom of job mix-and-matching encourages the player to experiment and discover fun synergies between jobs. want to have a white mage who can pummel enemies to death with their bare fists? or a dual wielding ninja/mystic knight that can imbue their weapons with elemental damage to exploit enemy vulnerabilities? all of these are possibilities that you can start exploring not long after you start the game, and the permutations only explode as you make further progress final fantasy games are well-regarded for their stories, though i would suggest reigning in expectations for this one. the characters are charming yet can come off as one-note and static. compared to IV or VI, there is a more lighthearted and comical tone to the story told here, but the otherworldly and epic scale characteristic of final fantasy games is still here. expect a plot that centers around magic, ancient world-threatening evils, and cross-dimensional hijinks. oh and the music is pure bliss. one of my favorites in a series that already has some heavy hitters. what are you waiting for? if you love JRPGs, do yourself a favor and buy this one!
I feel like the job system is both this game's biggest strength and biggest weakness. Biggest strength because creating your own party, figuring out how to get through fights, and ultimately becoming demigods of damage is a pretty fun experience; and biggest weakness because you get more jobs too quickly than you have the AP to really experiment with, and a lot of the true shenanigans are hidden behind experimentation that requires a lot of grinding or reading guides. Still, the game's reasonably well balanced, the plot keeps things breezing along, and ultimately it's a pretty good time. Not my favorite, but definitely worth playing.
FANTASTIC game. The job system is amazingly complex and flexible, the story is simple and humorous yet emotional. (I actually found myself more attached to this game's characters than FF4's, despite FF5's gameplay over story focus). Amazing music, amazing bosses (Gilgamesh is my new favorite character), and just overall a very fun game. My favorite so far.
Possibly the most underrated of the bunch, and the best for a busy person because the story bits never really last very long and respect your time. The setting and story are peak fantasy nonsense too, if you're into that. The character building is both more involved and more broken than say the Tactics games, and make the game a blast to play (except for the poor soul who wants all the blue magic). You can both play this very technically and do things like manipulate everyone's level numbers with Blue Magic/Mix for an instant kill, or you can just beat everything to a pulp with Dualcast or Spellblade Dual Wield Rapid Fire. Either way FFV is home to the first big intentional Superbosses so there's always something to tone down your seemingly OP build. I don't really miss the GBA exclusive content being lost in this one. Sure you had more superbosses and a few more jobs, but the latter weren't much to write home about.
