Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews
I first played this on the original playstation and the graphics and controls are definitely improved here. The pixel remaster delivers on what it promised. For the core game itself, I love the comedic approach of this game, and the first appearance of Gilgamesh in the series. My only two real complaints is that the story and main villain (Exdeath) are less enjoyable than other titles in the series, and that the job system is one of my least favorite parts of the series.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.78/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

FINAL FANTASY V ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now that we're at the 5th entry in the series, you might remember that I had some issues with the job system in Final Fantasy III. Well, 45 hours later, I can confidently say that this game makes it look like a tutorial in comparison. Playing around with the jobs in this game has been the most fun that I've had in this series so far, specifically because they are so flexible to work with. Final Fantasy V introduces a new feature that allows you to use abilities that you learn from other jobs with any other job, creating a system where every job can provide value for your team composition. This game does a much better job at inviting the player to experiment with different combinations because doing so will allow you to break the game in ways you wouldn't expect. That is a huge improvement over the last game that did a system like this, so it's very appreciated! Outside of that, this game seems to go for a more simple approach to storytelling from the last entry. This time, this game is only focused on the four heroes of light for the majority of the game, so no rotating party members, and it also has a much more light-hearted tone. This game has a sense of humor that I don't think was present in any Final Fantasy game prior, and it was really fun to see the characters making sarcastic jabs and puns.
I think the perfect embodiment of this game's overall tone can be found with the character Gilgamesh, who you will meet later in the game. Love that goofball.
Bartz, Lenna, Faris, and Galuf
(and Krile)
are given backstories and details to their characters that help them stand out, but they don't undergo any major character development throughout the story, mostly staying static. If you are looking for something that was on the level of Final Fantasy IV, you probably won't find it here, but you'll finish the game with a fondness for them regardless. So overall? This game was honestly pretty great, and I would definitely recommend it if you're interested in the job system. 8/10.
Great combat and story
7/10
Another fun FF game. Great improvement of the job system from FFIII. Nice to have characters with personality.

In my 25 hours of playing this game, there was joy, rage, sorrow, and truly an experience I will never forget. While I did not 100% the game, I made sure to go out of my way to collect as much as possible, grinded all the jobs, collected all the summons, and I thought, after 25 hours, you know what, I am ready to finish this game. Then I get to the final boss, and let me tell you what: friendship, grinding, magic, strength, all of it means NOTHING in comparison to COLD HARD CASH. Let me tell you this: if you fight the final boss, DONT EVEN BOTHER USING ANY OTHER SKILL JUST MONEY. COLD HARD GIL MEANS NOTHING IN COMPARISON TO THE VOID. Anyway, lots of love. Hope you enjoy, and I hope this review helps you understand only money matters.
