About
Ivalice—a kingdom blessed by the light of the gods and ruled by the Two-headed Lion. A year after her defeat to Ordallia in the Fifty Years' War, the king succumbed to malady, leaving a mere boy of two to ascend the throne.
Whoever was named regent would rule in truth, and thus emerged two rival candidates: dukes Goltanna and Larg, whose deeds during the war had earned them great renown. Goltanna the Black Lion and Larg the White Lion were destined to clash, and the resulting conflict would come to be known as the War of the Lions.
Against this backdrop appear Ramza, third son of House Beoulve, one of Ivalice's leading military families, and his childhood companion Delita, a commoner raised amongst nobles. As they endeavor to chart a course through this tumultuous age, a mighty current draws them ever closer to the abyss.
Lead your party in exhilarating encounters where strategic positioning and forward planning determine the outcome. Use the varied terrain of 3D battlefields to your advantage, skillfully manipulate the turn order, and victory will be yours for the taking.
Combine a wide variety of jobs and abilities to craft your very own strategies.
As your party members grow, they will gain access to more jobs, each with its own unique abilities. Once learned, abilities can be used even after changing to another job. With over 20 jobs to master—including white mage, black mage, dragoon, and many others from the FINAL FANTASY series—and hundreds of abilities to learn, you have the freedom to experiment and discover the combinations that best suit your party. Chocobos and other creatures can also be tamed and led into battle.
With improved graphics, fully voiced dialogue, and refined gameplay, the enhanced version provides the perfect way to immerse yourself in the world of Ivalice. Along with the fine-tuning of several features and battle mechanics, the inclusion of the more accessible "Squire" difficulty setting makes the enhanced version an excellent starting point for first-time players.
The classic version unites the graphics and gameplay of the original 1997 version with the renowned War of the Lions translation for a unique way to experience this beloved title.
The Enhanced version of the game supports a wide variety of controller options.

FFT was one of my favorite games back when it came out. I've enjoyed this enhanced port to PC. It looks great, and runs well on my system. I don't usually go for 100% steam feats in a game, but I will 100% this game. The recent addition of NewGame+ was what this game was missing.
The original Playstation 1 Final Fantasy Tactics is what got me into tactics turn-based games. Love the job class system. Fan of the story. One of my favorite games that I return to play every now and then. Love it.

This is the best Final Fantasy game. The political stuff going on in the background of the story is very detailed, and is basically a retelling of the War of the Roses, so if you're a history buff, you'll get a kick out of that. The job system is super detailed and lets you make very unique characters with some pretty OP builds possible - especially for your wizards. The remake gives you higher resolution sprites, voice acting (I know how to say Beoulve now), and a lot of other quality of life improvements. But it is a 20 year old game. Fifty bucks is pretty high. Definitely worth it at $40 though.

[h2] We are the sum of our deeds, not our names. [/h2] This game had a profound effect on me. Having been released in 1998 in NA it was a game I played at a very young age. The lessons it taught me shaped some of my core beliefs and ideals that I still carry with me to this day. Playing through it again for a 3rd time I noticed some of the similarities it has with Game of Thrones. One of the core differences being that this game manages to stick the landing. [i]Game of Thrones will continue to catch strays from me for that atrocious finale.[/i] The story and writing are none of short of exceptional. The characters are vibrant, diverse and can make you hate, pity or envy them, sometimes all at once. Other characters remain favorites of mine to this day. The game pulls no punches and I found myself getting chills at certain lines, situations and scenes. It is truly a masterful story where I believe everyone can find something to enjoy. The gameplay and job system are slower and often require forethought, planning and strategy. [strike] Hence the name "Tactics"[/strike]. The unique combinations, jobs, equipment and sequences can be endlessly rewarding if your patient enough. If you really can't manage it though fear not. You can put the game on the easiest difficulty and trample over everything. Although a certain character that joins you makes this an option anyway. While it doesn't have some of the extra classes and equipment from "The War of the Lions" edition nothing really essential is missing. Even myself an OCD completionist maniac got over it. The added voice acting is amazing and was a welcome edition, enhancing some of the most epic story moments and character interactions. I honestly believe this game to be a true 10/10 and one of, if not the best Final Fantasy game. Give it a chance. You won't be disappointed.
