Fatekeeper offers rich progression mechanics that go far beyond surface-level stats. Build and refine your character with meaningful choices across combat styles, attributes, and spell schools. Whether you lean into raw strength, nimble precision, or devastating sorcery, the game supports a wide range of viable and unique builds.
Discover, loot, and master a wide variety of weapons, armor, and artifacts. Customize your loadout to suit your playstyle, and experiment with powerful combinations to overcome increasingly challenging enemies. Every item matters—and the right gear can be the difference between victory and ruin.

Bosses are too fast and my player is too slow to react to them making it almost impossible to kill. story line is ok . Ingredients are few to find. Use them wisely. Granted it's still in early release and need to fix bugs
OLD SKOOL DIFFICULT, keyboard and mouse works, sure, but due to difficulty, most gamers will WANT controller support (inbound) G'day; gamers for decades, play most games on 'hard' by default.. Fatekeeper is a perfect game for the modern world, with gameplay akin to what we had for decades~ actual challenge, AND sections of challenge promoting a solution that requires learning strategy. I came along for the tech demo. Figured that some Kingdom Come Deliverance 'sword play' (/"die by the sword" etc) would be fun in a Unreal Engine 5 showcase title. Amazing. came for the pretty graphics, stayed and REPLAYED for the actual gameplay. Devs know what gamers need- the actual mini challenges of any section are designed to PUSH gameplay. replayability on a short demo? limitedm but 'yes'. replayability in the full product? Will be awesome.. for now, running through the game and seeing what it has to offer is best for keyboard and mouse veterans.. as someone who identifies as being 'exceptional' on keyboard and mouse controls (but also enjoy gamepads and controllers when the game suits); this game NEEDS a controller. Some of the combat sequences are SO TIGHT that any miskey equals death (awesome),.. but you may, in these moments, want to blame the controls for 'a cheap death' that could have been avoided. hence; wait for controller support if you are easily frustrated with difficult game passages. Best apsects: random enemy hit points equals "did I down him?" mentality... lots of times the attacker you thought safe to turn your back on (because they are a heap on the ground) gets back up and 'surprises'. Priceless. Value presently is 100% ANY extra content makes this a bargain. I am nowhere near finished.. and the enjoyment per minute and 'mouth open' UE5 tech demo is why I play with PC hardware. Runs on GLF Linux (I used Proton 11 Release Candidate- HDR, VRR, DLSS and framegen all working) ~80 fps average framerate on a gaming laptop with all settings maxed. (Very pretty, and runs very well) noticed 10fps lower framerates as I progressed through levels, shows that 'optimised areas' are 'a thing', and that the devs know what they are doing. For 0.1 early access this is exceptional and worth (more than) every penny spent. Cheers. Also Devs have ethics are 'under promising' and 'over delivering' and have deemed controller support is inbound but 'will not be rushed'. Presently Steam keyboard and mouse mappings to controller (default) works out of box. Best tech demo on my PC by far. most fun I have had in an 'arcade battler' for aeons.

beautiful game
I normally don't leave reviews on games but for this i had to. this game made me feel something i haven't felt with a game for a really long time. the world they designed in intricate, and beautiful. In most games i would sprint to checkpoints or objectives to move on to the next thing to do. In Fatekeeper I never wanted to, the scenery is truly something to admire. Every time i loaded into a new environment I felt a sense of awe. the story is intriguing and keeps you interest, your main character and their companion feel real, and have great dialogue. The combat never felt repetitive, enemies react very well ,and the game encourages you to use your surroundings in combat. The feeling of kicking an npc of a mountain or hitting the wood they are standing on with a fireball is great, you can be creative and you should. Although the game is linear the environment makes you want to explore and you are rewarded for doing so. This is truly one of the best games I Have played. Even though in early access i ran into to very few bugs and it's reasonably well optimized. my only complaints about this game are small quality of life issues such as 1. Not being able to name potions 2. not being able to make custom recipes 3.not being able to swap effects on wearables (such as in cyberpunk where if i like the look of something i can have it with the effects of a something else i have)
The game runs wonderfully on my steam machine (disclaimer I do not concern myself with ultra graphics, I set mine to low and just enjoy playing the game). This game does not hold your hand when it comes to what you are meant to do after a very brief tutorial and I really respect that. No yellow paint telling me what to do at all times. The difficulty is very good and scaled around the fact that your dodge mechanic is your best defense. If you do not learn/remap your dodge button you will have a bad time and from my 1 play through I did not see the tutorial teach me the dodge mechanic. Take it from me once you learn that this game become amazing and runs like a dream. I did a very basic build around attack speed and crit/bleed and it was a great time. I would recommend exploring as much as possible and for a section in the middle a range caster build could be amazing. Leave no stone unturned and pick up everything as you will be needing it. I see huge potential in this game and think that the full release will be a treat.
Let me know when you have controller support.....
While short, 2 hours of gameplay at this time. It is polished and optimised and the level design and the enviroment is gorgeus and immersive. If the devs continue with this level of game development this game will be a really enjoyable experience.
So far this game has impressed me. The visuals are incredible, the combat makes you feel like a medieval John Wick, and the story writing (at least so far) is amazing. The small bits of humour that is in the game is a nice touch. Makes its not all that serious. Prefomance wise the game held up well. It may not be hitting my refresh rate of my monitor (165 hertz) but it didn't bother me in the slightest. Combat still felt smooth and didn't experience any frame stutters or hitching. Played the whole game on Ultra settings with FSR on at 1440p. Overall as of the date and time of this review I can see a bright future for this game dev team. And recommend anyone that is thinking of trying it out to go for it. My favourite things personally are the graphics and combat of the game. Looks very photo-realistic and well made. I sat looking over at the mountains in the distance. Makes me want to try and run over to them and explore more. The Combat make you feel like you don't need to be a Dark Souls or Elden Ring player to know how to time your attacks or dodge a more powerful attack.
The combat and movement is really fun, for an eralky access game it looks and feels very good, once they add to the story and add in more loot its going to be an amazing game!
The game is quite amazing and full of potential, not just because it seems like a spiritual successor of Dark Messiah but also because of its intriguing lore. storytelling and breath-taking graphics. 10/10 early access
