Fallout® 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed game that took RPG'ing out of the dungeons and into a dynamic, apocalyptic retro-future. It's been 80 long years since your ancestors trod across the wastelands.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Insufferable gameplay. The save system doesn't allow loading during actions in a fight. If you end your turn against 20+ enemies, you either wait ~20 seconds per NPC (or more) to load, or suffer an extremely slow and tedious battle that gives very little reward for the time wasted. (NOTE: you have to endure this wait every single turn, easily 6 minutes per turn just watching NPCs act.) The game constantly throws +10 enemy encounters or overleveled enemies with massive sponge HP at you, forcing constant saving to avoid random deaths that wipe your party and resources. Quests are confusing and rarely straightforward. You either have to sit and read hundreds of documents, or more likely search the internet/wiki, turning you from player into a viewer or wiki reader. There are a zillion completely empty "cities" where you must speak to every single hobo to check if they’re actually a quest NPC. The map is HUGE. It’s mostly just a picture with a slow-moving dot, taking a good 10 minutes (if lucky) to travel between cities while avoiding random encounters. The game forces constant saving to avoid accidentally making random NPCs mad. Obnoxious mechanics like “store your weapons” can turn entire cities hostile for the smallest mistake, locking you out of major content. Many events and chat responses are random or based on hidden stats/conditions. Without a wiki open, you’ll quickly miss entire segments of the game. The storage system is a complete disaster. Even after finishing quests, unneeded items stay in your inventory, leaving you wondering whether to keep or drop them while bloating the interface. The companion system is really annoying. They constantly block your path, either rushing ahead to get killed or cowardly running away, with no in-between. Team management is as painful as it gets. You have to go through slow dialogue every time you want to talk to them, adjust their gear, or give instructions. They can get lost if you forget where you told them to wait, and overall everything about them feels like a massive waste of time with little benefit. Maps are unnecessarily big with tons of empty rooms, forcing you to open every door, interact with everything, and talk to everyone just to hopefully progress the story, most of times not realizing you are doing it because everything is disjointed. The final map is absurdly bloated with the highest difficulty enemies everywhere. The game pushes you to avoid fighting for most of the playthrough, only to force you into a nearly impossible sponge HP final boss on default difficulty unless you’re heavily overpowered. The game isn’t “unpolished”, it is blatantly meant to be confusing and time-consuming through artificial difficulty and endless walking with no progress. NPCs mostly look alike, same for containers and quest items, so there’s no reliable way to tell what to interact with. This game has virtually no game design whatsoever.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

difficult to start but ends up being incredibly fun after about level 10

Guerra que nunca muda²
one of the locations/missions is disrespectful.. I dislike that -_-
Still a lot of fun to play all these years later, but it does have the old school game issues. Weapons can be rather imbalanced so be careful.
Before anything some technical issues: There seems to be an issue with Steam's cloud saving feature, that will sometimes screw up save files. I myself lost a few hours because of it. The game also crashed every once in a while, and there were some major lag spikes when entering different city areas. I'm a bit more mixed about this than Fallout 1. That one I consider among the best crafted games of all time. This game is much bigger, hell it's a big game by today's standards. That's not even accounting for different runs and decisions you can make. It has a lot more focus on combat, and is more difficult. I liked that. The worst thing is definitely the "humor". There are on-the-nose pop culture references, self-referential and 4th wall breaks absolutely everywhere, and like 50% of your dialouge choices are like the Fallout 4's (sarcastic) dialouge options. At times it feels like a Marvel movie. It definitely detracts from the enjoyment of the story, because the actual story isn't some whacky hi-jinks. You're dealing with some serious issues like drugs, slavery and even genocide. To be a little fair the heavier subjects are usually handled a little more seriously. The Enclave are some seriously devious, and interesting villains. The different communities and societies you come across are very distinct and different from each other. The story continues on from Fallout 1. A version of events that you might not have actually chosen in that game. That might put some people off, but I kind of like that. It was a little disappointing that the talking heads were a lot fewer. I also missed the option to just ask about whatever I could type a little bit, that was a flavorful option. One could say a lot about the companion system. But to keep it simple; I think it worked decently well, and was mostly improved from Fallout 1. It has its frustrating moments for sure. The basis is a great game. That is brought down by a few, but significant flaws.
