"In the beginning, there was only an excruciating, screaming void, wherein twisted souls writhed about, imprisoned in nothingness. Then the darkness was pierced by Luce, and with her came warmth and order. The time of men had begun, and would last many eras. But the 14th era is one of Darkness…"

As Nyx, an old, retired warrior, evade the Shadows and find your way through the crooked corridors of gloomy dungeons, navigate the treacherous pathways of the darkened overworld and fight emissaries of darkness in long-forgotten temples. Many puzzles and deadly traps stand between you and your goal – to bring your daughter Aether to the last place on the face of Earth that still sees light.
Inspired by games such as Dark Souls and ICO, Fall of Light rewards those who explore the world on their own and draw their own conclusions. Pick your favorite combination of close-range weapons, crossbows and shields, determine your fighting stance and get ready to face hordes of crafty enemies.

dobra hra
Unplayable on current macOS. Runs at less than 1FPS on a top-of-the-line mac. Still labeled as 32-bit even though that's not true.

Fall of Light is a very minimalist (not only the graphics) isometric ARPG with Dark Souls-inspired combat. A more appropriate name for this game would be Fall off Edges and Cliffs, because that's what will happen the most to anyone playing this game. The combat is not ideal for isometric view and can be very frustrating, and the fact that the camera is fixed and cannot be rotated only makes it worse. I like the dark setting of this game, although it's a bit too dark. Sometimes it's hard to see things. There are two difficulties: normal (colorful) and nightmare (almost black and white, but I found it less dark than normal difficulty). This game lacks many things you'd expect to be part of an ARPG: there are no potions, no minimap, no weapon damage info, no masteries/skills (only a second and more powerful attack), no tutorial (I finished the game and don't know what the shadow form does exactly, except that your character hits twice per attack)... The inventory is minimalist like everything else in this game and doesn't allow you to carry any extra weapon apart from the ones you have currently equipped (you can switch between two different weapons). There are traps (some of which can kill you with one hit) and secrets. Some of the secrets are related to the main story and you can get stuck because of them. You might have to resort to a guide. Some fragments of Luce (there are 100 of them) are easy to miss, so if you want the achievement for collecting them all, you will probably have to revisit the areas using a guide. The girl isn't very smart and can get constantly trapped in a cage by enemies. When this happens, you need to go save her. Unfortunately, she is needed to save your progress and increase your health/life. She is supposed to make you stronger when she is close to you, but I didn't notice any difference except the glow on my weapon. You can hold her hand to keep her always close to you and prevent her from getting trapped in a cage. On the other hand, the game refuses to hold your hand and gives you the middle finger instead. From what I understand, this game is a tribute to a Italian girl called Luce, who died in 2017. I suppose she was the daughter of one of the developers. I will give this game a positive review because of that, although it has many annoying aspects and could have been much better. By the way, this game is a bit overpriced after the recent price increase here in Brazil and some other countries. I hate when publishers selectively increase prices in some countries to compensate for the exchange rate.
