About
Be the hero in your own cinematic epic of action, tension and terror. A mysterious paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in a Special Forces team only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart. With no other recourse, the elite F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) team is assembled to deal with the extraordinary circumstances. They are given one simple mission: Evaluate the threat and eliminate the intruders at any cost.
Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended – with a bang. As the helicopter which the F.E.A.R. team is on attempts to leave the vicinity, it instead winds up crashing. The F.E.A.R. team is thus forced to seek out an alternate extraction point, all the way battling the now free Alma and her paranormal minions across a destroyed city.
As the first F.E.A.R. team and Delta Force fight for control of the situation, a second F.E.A.R. team is sent in to shed some light on Armacham Technology Corporation's (ATC) dark past. As a member of a secondary F.E.A.R. team, you are brought in to discover more information regarding the secret project at the ATC facilities. The multiplayer component for this expansion is no longer available.

Reviews
Yeah F.E.A.R needs no introduction at all. It's so ahead of it's time with it's combat. The story is alright with plot twists. The mission design, the atmosphere, the sound design and the horror are all well done. But overall F.E.A.R was overhyped except the gameplay.
Still the best FPS I've ever played. Ai of enemies, particles, lighting, music, its' all good.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

This is actually still pretty cool. Game supports modern resolutions and high refresh rates, and runs on linux no problem. Big difference from 2005 is you only need a moderately fresh potato to run it now. And the only issue out of the box that I found is that UI scale even on large is pretty small on 1440p. There's probably mods for it. Gameplay is easy to pick up. Enemy AI actually feels refreshing. The horror elements look pretty campy now, but it was indeed amazing when it first came out. Give it a shot.
This is a classic FPS with the best A.I enemies and also scary ambience. I recommend it.
You know... I think this might be a good game!
⭐ F.E.A.R. — Korkutucu Atmosfer, Muhteşem Silah Hissi Ama Yaşını Belli Eden Bir Oyun 7/10 F.E.A.R. 👻 Hikâye Oyunda F.E.A.R. isimli özel bir askerî birliğin parçası olan Point Man'i yönetiyoruz. Görevimiz, kontrolünü kaybeden Paxton Fettel'i durdurmak.
More than 20 years later, F.E.A.R. is still one of the greatest single-player FPS experiences ever made.
FIRST ENCOUNTER ASSAULT RECON
Personal report submitted by a surviving officer assigned to the operation. Honestly, this game still looks and plays no worse than many modern titles. It is almost unbelievable that technology like this already existed at the time. At its core, F.E.A.R. is a first-person shooter with elements of horror, and it is unfortunate that this particular genre has become so rare today, because its potential is enormous. However, what truly makes this game exceptional is the enemy artificial intelligence. At first, the Replicas may appear to be nothing more than ordinary targets waiting to be eliminated. That assumption does not last long. The realization of how they actually behave can be genuinely surprising. This is the kind of enemy behavior I would expect from modern technology, yet in reality, many modern opponents are nowhere near as tactical as the Replicas were. An entire report could be written simply about the way they react to different situations. They do not merely stand in place without responding after detecting a target. Whenever possible, they take tactical positions, use the environment for protection, and attempt to suppress their target. If the distance between them and the target becomes too short, they can retreat while continuing to fire. During these tactical retreats, they may even jump through windows to reposition themselves. Due to the limitations of the engine, their animations are not always particularly fast by modern standards, and this can sometimes leave them vulnerable to surprise attacks. However, the decisions behind their actions remain impressive.
//:They are not simply retreating. They are constantly searching for another way to reach you.

//// 01000110
One of the most unexpected aspects of their behavior is their ability to use alternative routes. They may appear to be defending a position while, at the same time, attempting to move around their target and strike from another direction. Their flexibility is also surprisingly well-developed. Given the opportunity, they can crouch and fire at the target’s legs rather than simply standing in place and shooting. In most encounters, the slow-motion ability becomes extremely useful because of how quickly the Replicas react. Special forces units, particularly heavy soldiers and armored units, can be especially dangerous. When fighting them, reaction time becomes essential, because they rarely give you an opportunity to recover or catch your breath. The most impressive thing I have personally witnessed, however, is what happens when they are severely wounded. When their health becomes critically low, they can become more defensive and less willing to advance, forcing their target to move toward them instead.
//:A wounded Replica does not necessarily become desperate. Sometimes, it becomes more cautious.

//// 01000101
As for the story itself, separate from the gameplay, I can only describe it as something resembling Resident Evil with a small trace of The Ring. There is a large corporation involved in the development of advanced technology and weaponry. At some point, they began experimenting on a young girl with extraordinary psychic abilities. However, Alma proved to be too powerful and difficult to control. Rather than abandoning the research, they decided to use her genetic material to create new psychic individuals, ones who could inherit her abilities while being more suitable for training and control. Eventually, believing that her abilities might not be passed on through genetics alone, they forced Alma herself to carry the artificially created prototypes. By examining the details hidden throughout the documents and audio recordings, it becomes increasingly clear just how ruthless and unethical these experiments truly were. The deeper you look into the available evidence, the more disturbing it becomes to realize what was considered acceptable in the name of research and military development. Armacham is practically a competitor to Umbrella when it comes to ruthless and unethical corporations. It is honestly strange that Armacham is rarely remembered alongside other infamous fictional corporations, considering the cruelty of the experiments they were willing to conduct and the consequences they created. The difference is that Umbrella created monsters by accident and design. Armacham created them by deciding that a human being was simply another resource.
//:The experiment did not go according to plan.
What I initially failed to mention was what happened after the project was sealed. The people responsible for the experiment apparently believed that by locking Alma away inside the containment chamber, the incident would eventually disappear on its own. Her body was already being kept in an artificial coma, and without food or proper care, they expected her to die within a matter of days. The chamber would then become nothing more than a sealed metal sarcophagus, containing the remains of a failed experiment that could finally be forgotten. It was a convenient way to bury the entire incident without having to face the consequences of what they had done. They sealed the girl away and expected time to finish the job for them. But Alma’s psychic presence proved to be far more persistent than her physical body. Even after her body had died, her consciousness and psychic influence continued to exist and affect the people around her. What was supposed to be a dead girl forgotten inside a metal chamber became something that could no longer be contained by physical means.
//:They managed to seal the project. They never managed to erase what they had created.

//// 01000001
Paxton Fettel eventually became connected to Alma and took telepathic control of the Replica forces, beginning a chain of events that could no longer be reversed. By the time Alma was finally released, something far more dangerous than an escaped experiment had been unleashed. She was no longer simply a person connected to a failed project. She had become the result of everything that had been done to her. A being shaped by pain, anger, and hatred toward the people and the world responsible for her existence.
//:When Alma was released, it was no longer a question of whether the situation could be contained. The real question was whether anything could survive what came next.

//// 01010010
At that moment, the world was already doomed. Even today, F.E.A.R. remains one of the most impressive examples of how much can be achieved when enemy behavior is treated as an essential part of the experience rather than simply an obstacle for the player. The combat still feels great. Sometimes it was the fact that the soldiers hunting me were actually thinking. The game is horror, but I think it is important to consider the year it was released. Some of its horror techniques may not have the same impact on a modern player, especially after decades of horror films and games using similar tricks. The graphics have obviously aged, and some scenes can feel more predictable today. You are entering an operation that has already gone wrong. And the deeper you go, the more obvious it becomes that the people you were sent to stop are not necessarily the ones responsible for creating the nightmare. End of report.
//:Some experiments should never have been allowed to begin.

//// 01000001 01001100 01001101 01000001
