About
Be the hero in your own cinematic epic of action, tension and terror. A mysterious paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in a Special Forces team only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart. With no other recourse, the elite F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) team is assembled to deal with the extraordinary circumstances. They are given one simple mission: Evaluate the threat and eliminate the intruders at any cost.
Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended – with a bang. As the helicopter which the F.E.A.R. team is on attempts to leave the vicinity, it instead winds up crashing. The F.E.A.R. team is thus forced to seek out an alternate extraction point, all the way battling the now free Alma and her paranormal minions across a destroyed city.
As the first F.E.A.R. team and Delta Force fight for control of the situation, a second F.E.A.R. team is sent in to shed some light on Armacham Technology Corporation's (ATC) dark past. As a member of a secondary F.E.A.R. team, you are brought in to discover more information regarding the secret project at the ATC facilities. The multiplayer component for this expansion is no longer available.

F.E.A.R. 1 What I liked: ‣ The story premise and unique characters. ‣ The tone of the game. While it’s not really a horror game and is mostly an FPS with jump scares, it still has some genuinely scary moments and sections. ‣ The level design is pretty good. I never really got lost because the paths felt intuitive, and some of the level transitions were well done. ‣ The AI can be annoying, but it makes combat engaging. ‣ Decent weapon variety, and each weapon feels unique. ‣ You can lean left and right, which is something I didn’t expect from such an old game. Mixed: ‣ Some enemies are annoying, especially when a shotgun blast to the face doesn’t kill them. ‣ It’s not really a scary game, it’s mostly an FPS with jump scares. ‣ Since it’s an old game, the graphics feel outdated. ‣ Needs community mods/fixes to run properly on modern systems. What I didn’t like: ‣ Movement feels quite slow, and the sprint speed isn’t very fast. ‣ Stiff animations. ‣ While the level design is good, many maps look very similar. F.E.A.R. Extraction Point & Perseus Mandate. Both expansions are better than the main game in some ways, and both add new weapons and grenades. Extraction Point: ‣ Continues the story of F.E.A.R. 1 and does a better job with both the story and atmosphere. ‣ The maps feel more unique and memorable compared to the base game. ‣ Has stronger horror elements overall. Perseus Mandate: ‣ Tells a parallel story from another perspective. ‣ Reuses assets and ideas from the previous games but still adds some new content. ‣ Has fewer scary moments than the other two games and feels more action focused. Overall: All three games were fun. They definitely feel old nowadays, but if you enjoy old-school shooters with some horror elements, you’ll probably like them.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

reviews for F.E.A.R and its DLC BASE GAME: very good i loved alot it stretched a little long during some areas 9/10 PROS gameplay AI guns vibes horror story CONS ending could of stuck the landing a little better dragged at times but only like 2 times voice acting could of been a bit better EXTRACTION POINT 7.5 i enjoyed it i felt it was a little samey compared to the base game i liked all the things they added PERSEUS MANDATE 6.5 i liked it more then the normal person but i do agree it is a HUGE step down compared to base game and DLC but if your looking for some FEAR shooting while kinda zoneing out it was pretty fun!
F.E.A.R is where FPS game meets horror, with a engaging story that's thrilling from start to finish. The gameplay is incredibly fun, especially on Extreme Difficulty, where both you and your enemies deal massive damage to each other. Every encounter becomes tense and rewarding, making each fight feel like it could go either way. Despite its age, the game has held up remarkably well. The atmosphere, gameplay, and overall experience still stand strong today. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys intense FPS games with horror elements.

Fun game. Interesting story and slowmo was fun to use. It wasn't the scariest stuff ever, but it got me a few times.
