About

Erenshor is a single player adventure designed to capture the game play and feeling of an MMORPG. You will meet and group with hundreds of Erenshor's SimPlayers - which are your digital companions who persistently exist in the world, who progress independently, and who will always be ready to group and adventure along side you whenever you're ready.
Players will spend dozens or even hundreds of hours working on their characters. By the time they've reached the end game they'll be carrying godly weapons, long-lost spells, and legendary armor into battle - where they'll be nearly untouchable for all but the most fearsome opponents in Erenshor.

Erenshor is a single player love letter to the early MMORPGs that paved the way for the games we play today. Taking inspiration from the classics of the late 90s and early 00s, Erenshor does not offer quick rewards or hand-holding. Players will get lost, stumble upon deadly foes, and learn hard lessons. The keen adventurer will be rewarded.
Combat is deliberate and deadly. You'll need to consider positioning, strategy, and most importantly: what to do if it all goes wrong.
Your reward will be access to a monster's treasures once it's defeated. Some will drop swords, or armor, or jewels... and if you're lucky, it might have one of it's rare drops in its inventory - all for the taking.
If not - it'll respawn in time, and you'll slay it again for another chance.

Erenshor is built from the ground up to be a single player experience. All of the content, each puzzle, and all game play is hand built and balanced for one player, making Erenshor the only "MMO-Like" that is truly meant to be played alone.
You'll start with nothing, stranded on a small island off the mainland of Erenshor. With persistence, you'll gain power and wealth. Success will not come without failure, but with every party wipe and failed battle you'll gain experience and knowledge to come back and try again.

Partner with our signature Simulated Players to experience all of the content the game has to offer.
These players will level up alongside you (whether you're online or not), they'll find new items on their own and they'll find them with your help. They'll ask for loot drops, they'll buy and sell loot, join and leave guilds, and even invite you to raids as they get to know you. They'll remember you and how you treat them.
The SimPlayers all have their own pre-written personalities and motivations, and their own opinions of you and of the other players. You'll find favorites, and together you'll conquer the world of Erenshor one rare drop at a time.
Grow together as a 'server' in order to defeat Erenshor's toughest opponents... and then leave the realm to challenge the Gods themselves!

You'll hunt monsters, complete quests, and find lost artifacts worth more gold than you could ever wish for. Each upgraded item will bring tangible increases in power, and soon the unwavering foes before you will be pushed aside, revealing a challenge even greater.

NPCs all respawn. You can attack any of them, and they all drop loot. Even the good guys.
Factions exist. Wiping out a town may mean you're no longer welcome there... but it may open up doors elsewhere.
Thousands of unique items, from common drops, to legendary treasure.
Simulated Players: You may get an invitation to join a group of simulated players in slaying a dragon or even a God. The treasures are yours for the taking.
Cities, Dungeons, Tombs, Forests, Beaches, Forts, Meadows, Caves, and Mountain Ranges - a huge world to explore with secrets in every corner.
Lore and Story done your way. Investigate the mysteries of Erenshor, or don't. Kill mindlessly for power, or with direction and purpose.
A World Divided: The game world is divided into separate 'zones'. Areas are unique to themselves, and can be traversed at will - whether you're ready for it or not.
Multiple Character Slots and a shared Bank. Subsequent characters have the option of starting with a massive advantage, including XP bonuses.
No micro transactions. Ever.
*Note that SimPlayers do not use LLM or any other emerging AI model. They are run by a mixture of state machines and decision trees. This means no token fees, and no lapse in service after a certain amount of use.

Fun offline MMO that feels alive with the Sim Players running around everywhere with nice references to the MMOs that inspired the solo developer that made this. I like how some of the quests are sort of hidden until you say the right word/phrase to an NPC and open their questline, really reminds me of some very early MMOs like Dark Ages. The best and most surprising feature overall are the Sim Players and how they really make the game go at your pace since you always have 4 "players" free to do quests, dungeons or raids the second you log in. Overall the game has a great start and I highly recommend giving the demo a try since that progress carries over to the main game should you decide to buy. Looking forward to more updates and the eventual 1.0 release in 2027!
Overview: Erenshore is a solo, single player MMO (Massively Multiplayer "Offline") game where the every "Player" is a bot, and surprisingly the game does a serviceable job at creating the illusion of a world populated by real people. I'll talk more about the social aspects in my review, that combat is mostly generic MMO stuff, not as interesting as the simulated social aspects. The bots will post ads in the global chat to buy/sell goods. They will ask questions in the guild chat and answer each other. They will even try discussing off-topic things, such as complaining about going to work the next day, or asking for movie recommendations. Some of them will moan and complain and demand you give them loot that drops (Looking at you Jethro) like some indignant turd. They even post items on a simulated auction house, and the items seem to be drastically overpriced like a real MMO. The downside is, these are all canned / hard-coded responses, so it's difficult to actually engage with the bots socially, outside very simple thing like "Hi" or "Hello" or "Mew!" (The bots will start meowing at you). Though saying "Hello" in guild chat and having 150 or bots say hello back felt special. You can ask them where to level and they might respond. Anything more complex than that, the bots wont answer, for example they sometimes talk about the games Discord, so I asked for the Discord link in chat, no response, it's not something that they're programmed to respond with. Bots you have previously grouped with will occasionally hit you up with a whisper asking to group up again. You don't have to do what they want either. As far as I can tell you can form a group and drag them to wherever or whatever content you want to do, and they don't complain (yet!). I have not had a bot reject a party invite, though I did have one invite me to a guild after I replied yes if I wanted to join, that was neat!. Finally for the social aspect, whether this was just coincidence or not I cannot tell. I had a weak under-preforming bot in my party, a guild mate, I kicked him from the group and subsequently he / it left the guild Immediately after. It's almost a convincing human-like behavior.

I found Evenshor a couple weeks ago. Tried the demo really rough graphics BUT I gave it some time. The demo is free. After completing the demo game I decided to spend the big bucks (lol like $17) for the full game. It is not modern graphics but who cares..... It EQ/WOW as OG!! BUT better (well in some regards). Its solo BUT with AI completing groups. Really have to try it nothing like going back in time 25 years!! and with full AI player so grouping is easy, start a guild, looks like even raids now. So yes get it all you old timers like me!!
After more than 300 hours in Erenshor, I can confidently say this is one of the most unique and engaging RPG experiences I've played in years. It perfectly captures the nostalgia of classic MMORPGs while creating something that stands on its own. Progression feels rewarding, the raids and gear chase are genuinely fun, and there's always another goal to work toward. What really sets Erenshor apart is the developer's incredible level of engagement with the community. Updates, feedback, and communication show a real passion for making the game the best it can be. For the price, the value is outstanding, with more exciting updates to come. If you're a fan of old-school MMOs or just want a fresh, immersive RPG experience, I highly recommend giving Erenshor a chance. It's a hidden gem that deserves the attention and praise.
First time playing a simulated MMO. As a father with an unpredictable schedule, this allows me to play my favorite genre without the downtime of LFG and all the other time sinks. I think the chat could use a little work, but very fun game and mechanics.
Erencrack: what can I say I love the game, as an old school Everquest player including raiding on P99 this game hits the spot in so many ways. I look forward to future development and I hope we get more zones, level cap, expansions? Only gripe is choppy animations but what ya gonna do. Oh well, back to grinding and gearing up my guild bot army for raids.
Cool idea and very well executed. The dev is very attentive to feedback. I once brought a suggestion to him and he patched it into the game the very next day. The new raids are looking spicey!
Very slow game pace, impossible to continue without simplayers, and when partied with simplayers they do 100% of the work, this is not the MMO type of game I was expecting.
At first it was rough, I refunded it. After one year it got so much nicer, it is playable now. Good game. It does what it says it does.
If you have fond memories of early 2000s MMOs -- I am talking pre-WoW -- then you need to give Erenshor a try. Heavily and shamelessly Everquest inspired but delightfully original, and with a developer who really listens to feedback and is not solely guided by the Vision(tm) (rip Aradune), Erenshor is frankly my dream game. I don't buy many early release titles these days after being burned by games that ended up being abandonware before they were worthy of full release, but Erenshor is very worth it at the current price with the content and systems currently in place and it is absolutely in active development. This is a great time to try Erenshor and buy it if it's your cup of tea. Raids were just added and they are a ton of fun. It lacks sophisticated graphics, yes; the developer chose to use an asset pack that you have probably seen elsewhere, and no, there are no plans for a visual glow-up before 1.0. The simplayers are not LLM-based (for me this was a huge plus) and there are, again, no plans to make them so, for very valid reasons (there have been mods in the past which added some LLM capability to them but I dunno if they are actively maintained). The UI/UX needs work but the next planned major patch is (I THINK) improvements to general quality of life things, which will probably include making that better. As I write this review, the dev is planning to post his roadmap to 1.0 in the next few days. If you are not from the era of Everquest-y MMOs but Erenshor sounds interesting, absolutely give the demo a shot. Don't try to solo; invite simplayers to your group and have fun exploring the island starter zone. It's not completely the early Everquest experience... No sitting and waiting 20 for a boat to arrive at the docks to take you somewhere, no corpse runs, no sitting with a spellbook in your face to regain mana, no having to painfully level up weapon skills or the ability to have a reliable compass. The game lacks a lot of features that WoW and post-WoW MMO players will expect, and this is by design. You may be able to find mods that add stuff that you think you need, or you might find that you don't actually NEED them. If Erenshor isn't for you, that's ok. It's made to fill a specific niche, and it does that wonderfully. 11/10 enthusiastic recommend.
