It's superb! The difficulty starts high and stays high but the patterns feel fair and barely manageable even through to the final stage.
more shmups need a melee weapon shot
High-Octane and extremely fast-paced, Emerald Blue, while not necessarily my forte, seems an ode to old school bullet hells of this genre and is definitely fun. It being so easy to pick up and put down, is a huge plus for myself, as I can hop on for 10/20 mins at a time, and practice a few runs; try to get better. Definite recommend!

Fun game. A run only takes like 10 minutes, but it's absurdly intense all the time. There's not a lot to the game beyond that though. A great, brief adrenaline rush.
Such and amazing bullet hell, i only wish they do 1 more stage.
It's good. This game is super fun and intense right from the first stage.
Great and cohesive gameplay design. Really leans into the "manic" element, with strong point-blanking, fast patterns with large openings, and minimal downtime (between stages, on death). Fun patterns overall. Interesting graphics and vibe, it fits the game well. Mid music. Stages could be longer or +1 stage. Stage design is a bit repetitive even so, but boss patterns are great. Oddly seems to require Windows but forcing Proton works fine.
INSTANTLY hooked. Very snappy pace, enough sensory overload to cut through the adhd, but not so much that you can't see what's happening. Control feels crisp, vibe is great. The chaining and other mechanics are very intuitive and feel good. It feels like it fits in the Crimzon Clover corner of the Cave-esque subgenre, but something about the rather intense speed and the way it encourages you to play actually reminds me of Dangun Feveron. That is very high praise. I can't imagine any bullet hell fans not immediately loving this. Buy it. Recommend it to people. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS GAME, FOLKS
This is what you get if you play bullet hells all the time, are somewhat of a super player, learn a bit of coding, and decide to make a game of your own. Strangely enough, it feels the opposite of Birdcage. Game's super fast, super aggressive, a bit on the hard side. Graphics are decent (would have preferred pixels myself), the music is engaging, and the controls feel smooth.
Incredible game!! Well worth the price without a sale. It's been my go-to stg since its release. Very responsive, simple controls. Heavy xxgameroom inspiration which is great. It's definitely my favorite stg since Blue Wish Desire in 2021. You have a massive laser sword and very high ship speed. Your sword has a poison mechanic you might not notice at first. There's plenty of fake slowdown which I love. I've never touched the novice or hard modes, but they're there. The Crystal Rev update has massively improved the menu design. I love the added Gauntlet and Boss Rush modes. The Gauntlet bullet patterns are easier than they look (they look insane) so if you want to try and impress someone by playing a bullet hell stg in front of them, Gauntlet mode would be a good choice. They also made boss health bars pink which is a nice touch. (My crank opinion is that the sand in stage 2 should be green.) Additionally, the volume controls have never worked for me, whether using keyboard or arcade stick. The game is super loud by default. The sound design is, however, totally incredible. Stages 3 and 4 are the most fun. Despite angling for a comparatively flatter difficulty curve, they've ended up with the best stages in the back half like most bullet hell STGs. Gauntlet mode seems to make up for this. It also has me really looking forward to their follow-up. All in all, it's a wonderful game. I'm a mid player--I don't 1CC everything I play but I have for stuff I really love, like the Blue Wish games, Black Bird, Danmaku Unlimited 3, & Gunvein. Emerald Blue is right up there with my other favs. Highly recommended!!!
