The stage design is bland and the movement feels both stiff and slippery at the same time. In addition, there's the lives system. You lose any extra lives you obtained after you finish a chapter (a set of 3 stages), you sometimes lose 2 lives instead of 1, and if you get a game over, you start at the Chapter select screen. Avoid this one.
Ember Kaboom is a throwback to the Super Mario Bros games from the late 80s. The biggest fault is probably that the game engine is Construct 2, which cannot mimic the same overall mechanics of the original Mario Bros. Players who spent countless hours on the original Mario Bros will realize fairly quickly. For instance, sliding on ice block levels shoots the player one direction rather than decreasing the friction speed. There is also lack of any sort of sprint button or power-ups that balanced out the game play in the original Mario Bros. However, when looking past that comparison and seeing it as something different, it’s actually fairly fun to play and is its own unique game. The characters and worlds look fresh, the level design is decent, fitting music, and it balances out some of the frustrating mechanics with easy 1ups and checkpoints. It’s great to see someone create something like this as an inspiration rather than try to clone/copy it.

Simpatico jogo de plataforma. Confortável no controle. Cenários variados. Cada nivel é bem simples. Não joguei muito pois sou pessimo em plataforma haha
Ember Kaboom is a steam videogame featuring multiple relationships in home economics with a spit of good balanced fun and overheating frustrating gameplay!!! It does have some collarbone shoulder dress parts that are extra spiffy in creativity in some of the speaking confrontation of greatly done level design! The music is a shop filled with quilts and some energetic upbeat tracks with some jazzy slow steady tunes that make up the driving piece! I dont really want to hate on this completely in bitter nonsense but it doesnt deserve a 9.0/10 because the game throws alot of curveballs in a heart of unfair movesets or just things that are valued impossible to dodge aimlessly! I get it it was made by one guy and for the effort he was trying to pull!I won't go so hard on him okay josh??? I think its a good game to play once!Their's no replay value whatsoever and i think it deserves a high mighty 8.8/10 rating and its a decent stroll and some levels are actually fun to combine in relaxation sorts or just baywatch double dank fun love the burrito master!!!
Ember Kaboom's a fairly unimpressive, short platformer that still manages to offer just enough to be decent fun for a little while, especially if you get it on sale for pocket change. The game's divided into 12 chapters with 3 levels each. If you get Game Over before beating the third level in a chapter, you need to re-start that chapter. You always start a new chapter with 4 lives, and can get more by either collecting 100 swirls or finding 1-ups in out-of-the-way places. Levels are fairly short, usually with a checkpoint near the middle. There's a lot of platforming and bouncing off enemy heads, which occasionally gets a little frustrating due to the physics. The controls aren't bad per se, but they do feel a little floaty with some hard to gauge momentum (and some of the worst ice physics I've ever seen). The graphics are decent pixel art and the tunes didn't leave an impact (although I played much of the game with the volume low so I could listen to videos in the background). Oh, and there are no achievements or trading cards, if you're interested. Having said all that, there are a few things in Ember Kaboom that I appreciated. Most levels are given some kind of gimmick that makes them a little different from other levels; Wind physics, conveyor belts, darkness, timed activated bridges, etc. There were a handful of levels where you ride an animal and I found that charming. I found the penultimate level to be quite beautiful in its simplicity. It's also really short, so it doesn't require a big investment to see what it has to offer. It's nothing particularly special, but it's a decent experience for what it is.
excellent platformer. Highly recommended.
I think it's a good game, for the price it is asking for. Overall it feels like a tec demo, but is probably a good platformer for little kids.
gra naprwade przyjemna, niektore plansze przypominaja mario, chociaz to jest chyba bardziej rozbudowane, duza roznorodnosc, fajnie sie gra, 10 etap jest przerabany :P
