The content is cool, but this should have been free
Should have been a free update.
in short people love the content and it's not just people giving negative review just because its paid DLC, it's because this is horse armor DLC debacle all over again they can give these DLC as free content and fromsoft and bandai namco will not gonna go bankrupt but maybe the execs need to buy diamond or something so they make this cost 5 bones
I have to support because it's FROMSOFT and it's Elden Ring so my hands are tied. But this is for the studio and the creative minds behind it.. the shareholders can fk right off.
I’ve put over 4,000 hours into this game, after learning to enjoy it despite its flaws, coding errors, and questionable design choices. I learned to love and respect FromSoftware for what they represented in the industry. I learned to tolerate the latency issues and engine problems that have persisted since *Demon's Souls*. I put up with the game promising effects that couldn't actually be realized—because, for some reason, they couldn't make Faith-based buffs work... But this is just too much. If you haven't played this game and are thinking about spending your money on it, read this review first so you can make a better decision than I did. FromSoftware is being overrun by investment firms and all sorts of vultures who just want to take your money in exchange for a miserable experience. First, they released *Nightreign*, a game that died in about a month and... well, I’m not sure the content justifies the price tag. They charged for a lackluster DLC that didn't really add much substance. They just released a $5 DLC featuring seven weapons: four are inferior versions of existing weapons—which, frankly, should have been part of *SOTE* (another DLC that didn't exactly thrill people)—and two are unique weapons, both with coding issues (the Ash of War can be used while crouching; the Faith weapon's power doesn't actually affect the promised Incantations because, once again, Faith buffs can't be implemented from the start of the game). It also includes three mount (Torrent) skins and four armor sets: three have no passive effects, and the fourth has passives that boost Faith but make you more vulnerable to certain status effects—plus, the mask is useless because Faith can't be buffed. Finally, there are two invasions with fights that... well, they’re against NPCs, so I couldn't expect too much, to be honest. And that’s about it... They rolled out a patch that doesn't address the game's major issues—serving only to align with their new audience (Nintendo Switch 2 users)—and fixed barely two of the dozens of reported, outstanding bugs. They introduced new bugs: you can now land critical hits from a distance without breaking the opponent's stance. Latency has increased... and there may be other errors yet to be discovered. The final straw: they’ve just launched a community campaign to force engagement in exchange for Twitch stickers. This is no way to treat your audience—and you’re screwing yourself over. From now on, my money is going to other projects that actually respect me as a user. Maybe you should go back to your humble days with *Shadow Tower* and *Evergrace* so you can appreciate what you had achieved. If you already play the game, I invite you to join the boycott until FromSoftware learns to treat us with respect—or until the company goes bust trying. You taught us to fight until we got what we wanted, and now you’re becoming the new boss we have to defeat.
I want Nightreign updates
Less than 2% of the SOTE content at 12.5% of the cost. And that would be a 625% markup if SOTE JUST added new weapons and not a whole new map and bosses. This could’ve been a free update. You will get so much more content out of downpatching your game in order to play overhaul mods. Not worth the buy.
shameless to make this a paid dlc.
