Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 10 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

(+) - Yes this is THE spiritual successor to Suikoden - Has all the mechanic on Suikoden games, including the side features such as theater, cook-offs, and bath house, and even more. You can even collect and have Beyblade (Beigoma in this game) duel with NPCs. - Tons of interesting characters you can recruit. (not the sacred number of 108, mind you lol) - The graphic and animation is beautiful - Soundtracks are good. - Deep world building with deep political intrigue - Lots of comedic moments, which makes it refreshing, helps keep us focused again to the boring storyline (we'll get on that later) (-) - As I have said before, plot is boring. The world is at war, but the stakes don't feel that high. - Main villain isn't that memorable. - The introductions for the 3 main characters takes too long. I know the writers want to build up the relationships among them, but it doesn't feel like they hit it off that much. This is a solid, good turn-based JRPG. I recommend the fans of the genre to play this, especially Suikoden fans. But I won't classify it as one of the best JRPGs of all time. It has potential tho. I hope the developers will make more, better games from the same world setting, and make Eiyuden Chronicles the new, beloved, long lasting game series.

It's kind of impressive how anachronistic this game is. It rejects just about any improvements to the JRPG genres of the last two decades. And while many find this charming, I find it more annoying than anything else. The most annoying parts to me personally are - Horribly slow and convoluted menus - Terribly limited inventory system - Turn-Based battle with no speed up option (aside from mods) - At times unbearably stupid dialogue - Annoyingly stereotypical characters and villains
I'm not a fan of JRPG's, I rarely play them, so I can't compare this game to others in this genre. What I like: - Graphics are nice - music is nice - voice acting is really, really good What I dislike: - characters are very stereotypical. If you have watched any anime (I've seen like 3 shows), you've seen and met all characters here - combat is very basic - the game lulls you in by giving you several lines to choose from in the very first dialogue. That's the single dialogue choice you are going to take for the next at least an hour of gameplay. Every dialogue afterwards is linear and scripted - level progression sucks, you get exp, reach next level and your stats go up by a couple of points and that's it. No attribute points distribution, no perks to pick, no skills to level what I hate: - I've only finished the first dungeon and it was almost painful. Literally every 5 seconds you get interrupted by a cut-scene that takes way longer to communicate what's happening than it should, You reach closed door - cutscene - you walk for 3 seconds and reach some device - cutscene - you go back to the door and open it - cutscene (you watch the door as they open, then a character says "There. It's open" - you walk through the door - cutscene. You just walked a total of 15 meters, opened one door and walked through it and all of this progress took maybe 5 minutes. Now, as I've mentioned, I almost never play JRPG's so I'm not sure whether this is a normal thing in these games, but personally this makes the game super unenjoyable for me. If I didn't get this in the Humble Bundle Choice, I would have refunded it.
Lots of heroes to collect in an rpg game that's not too difficult to figure out how to play. What more could you ask for? It also features a different take on base-building, crafting upgrades, and treasure-hunting. If you take the time and go in-depth it really has a lot to offer!
One of the more frustrating let downs of this gaming era. This game was hyped up for years by these Devs and the content just doesn't scream or even whisper quality content. Boring generic character design, long drawn out unskippable conversations about essentially nothing, and lack of combat complexity keep the game from living up to its potential.
I'm in a love hate relationship with this game. I'm glad there's a successor of the Suikoden series, but this falls in line with the Suikoden 3's level of ranking. My ranking of the series is this 2>5>1>3>4. As a suikoden fan, these are my main gripes. There's some characters that are just too much of a grind to do thing you do in these games, get all the characters. The war sequences are a downgrade from Suikoden. There's not many engaging mini-games that grabbed me. The draw of the game having switchable protagonists at certain points is not really well thought out and I feel they tried too hard to make that as the stretch goals. What I like most is that there are some characters I absolutely thing are the best for a "Suikoden-game". Music is great! The spin on the combat for the series is an improvement for the ol' suikoden series. The VA work is fantastic and adds enjoyment to the antics the series has. The main story is well paced and the plot beats are what I expected/wanted. With Yoshitaka Murayama passed on, I wonder how much of the story is left to be said. I'm glad to back this passion project for him and the studio but maybe what I wanted all along was a game that captured the lighting in the bottle that was Suikoden 2.
